Let's face it--there are WAY too many wonderful fragrances out there to try. As a result, it is inevitable that many of them will go overlooked and underrated in the shadow of other scents.

Just received a sample of Amouage - Overture Man. It's blowing my mind. Definitely full bottle worthy. Hopefully, I will have an opportunity to get my hands on a bottle here in the US without too much trouble.
Also, I would add Hermes - Bel Ami Vetiver as a fragrance that is criminally underrated. Personally, my favorite vetiver-based fragrance. Masterfully blended.

Amouage Overture is available on FragranceBuy, but it's quite a hefty price indeed! And yes, Ideal Intense is very underrated, and it's sooooo good! I love it! 🖤
I love the elysiums. The pour homme, parfum cologne. Both are amazing. The Oligarch wasnt main, i had to sold it. I can whole hearthly recommend the Burlington 1819. It was everything i hoped it would be and more 😯❤. Probably my greatest fragrance discovery in 2021 with Afternoon Swim from LV. Also one of the most special citrus fragrances i put my nose on 👌👑
I gotta get my nose on Burlington 1819. Being an exclusive though, availability in the US is scarce.
Amouage have the cleanest, classiest bottles IMO. The perfect toeing the line between simple & stylish. Especially the opaque/matte bottles that they do.
I know this is hardly any reason to buy a fragrance. I’ve never sampled nor owned an Amouage fragrance, but those bottles are just gorgeous.

Jubilation XXV is criminally underrated. I found a 95% 100ml bottle for $147 yesterday. I was besides myself lol

I live in Oz and ordered Overture directly from amouage. They also provided some free samples and a body wash at the time so was good value.

Dia Man is a hidden gem. One of their most versatile. I love it.

the riff at the top there. though its the Kendrick . man, it immediately made me think Madness or Handjive off of Nefertiti . Listening to the Kendrick Lamar i feel that Miles Davis Quintet energy undeniable with the lyric on top of it. The drumming is absolutely evocative of that era Tony Williams with that kind of aggression and insistence in there . Mike Clark calls it Tony's "fire dance" the torch and emotions he conjured up with the ride cymbal. so beautiful to me. the whole sound really. Those riffs Miles and his generation created. OUR classical music :) i went for Overture Man. cant wait to deal with it . thanks for burning the torch bright Justin .

Never over look Overture Man because that scent is well made and so unique! And smells great! Nice review Justin! Oud Wood is good! Oud Wood Intense is even better in my opinion! Tom Ford Fragrances of late(Which are usually ground Breaking) seem to be not Tom Ford as we new him to make fragrances....But Oud Wood Intense which i think is discontinued.... Why! Nobody knows! which i own! And overture Man can be bought for 340 bucks plus 30 shipping from Nordstrom's! And today i wore Overture Man with creed Aventus and got 2 compliments when i was in town!

Some in my collection that get overlooked, YSL Trench, Dior Dune, Kilian Back to Black, PDM Habdan, Gianfranco Ferre L'Uomo, Loewe Agua de Loewe El, 1 million cologne
Hi Justin, I think Bois Marocain from TF was criminally underrated, I still have the empty bottle and refuse to throw it, it is that good, to me it is one of the top Woody scents I ever tried. As for Cartier I used Pasha in the past and liked (not loved) it while I didn't care for declaration EDT, while I like spicy perfumes, I don't like the cardamom-heavy ones, never tried the EDP though. For Amouage, I think Jubilation is the best I smelled, but I still have lots that I didn't try including overture.
I never had a chance to try that TF! Jubilation is really nice.
Tobacco oud is fantastic! I’m only 21 so when I first got a decent I was reluctant to wear it to say the least, given that it’s mature and complex. But rocking this while dressed up in the winter is amazing!!
From the house of Amouage something which is massively overshadowed, despite the fact it is really similar to Reflection man, their best-seller, is Amouage Ciel man it has notes of peach, lavender, lily of the valley, nutmeg, sandalwood and incense. It kinda smells like an extremely expensive soap, it has Prada APH vibes, only even more elevated and refined. I jokingly refer to it as Reflection's little hipster cousin
Amouage DIA is the most underrated. Bertrand Douchafours best work
Ciel Man is one of best but sadly discontinued

Nice content on this one, Justin. Speaking of Amouage, have you tried Fate Man? I heard lots of talk about it being too challenging or artistic, but I don't find that to be the case at all. It's a magical one when applied correctly, in my opinion.

Bro, I'm with you on Tobacco Oud. So much more interesting than Oud Wood. To be fair though, i find women love Oud Wood, so it's definitely a safe "date" fragrance. I also think Fougere Platine and By Kilian's Single Malt are hella underrated, hardly ever see them mentioned.

100% agree on the Declaration Parfum, it's very underrated, in my opinion it has the best authentic cardamom note in all designer realm, worthy of the "Niche Quality" badge.
My goodness, I love both Overtures by Amouage. I must agree with you about Oud Wood and Pasha - they're both nice, and easy to wear. Oligarch is lovely.
I don't see much talk about Nishane's Pachuli Kozha (not that I mind😌). It's dark, warm, and evocative. I love it. If you ever get a sample, I would like to know what you think.
Oh yes, you may also want to try Nefs, another infrequently discussed fragrance.

I think Amouage Fate Man and Acqua di Parma Colonia Futura are underrated. Totally agree with Cartier Declaration (parfum for me). Both Declaration Parfum and Pasha Parfum are among my favorite designer frags (top 10 or 12). Great video, Justin. Edit: Also MFK Amyris Pour Homme, when compared to other more popular MFKs.

Great Stuff, Justin. I think Roja's "Sultanate of Oman" is Criminally Underrated. Curious if you belief scent can effect one's musical performance? Are there preference scents one wears for live performance versus say a studio gig or rehearsal? Didn't know Cecile Zaroakian did the Teo Cabannel piece...? She's pretty wonderful !! I definitely wear different fragrances to different engagements. I consider performances to be more formal, so I wear my classier scents for them.

Justin, I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Very relaxed, well presented, and very informative. You've caught my attention on this one with the Teo Cabanel Barkhane. On a previous video comment we briefly discussed and you spoke highly of this one, as well. Will have to try. I will also get my nose on Oligarch later this week. I do enjoy Elysium and feel I will enjoy this one too.
Usually I can pick up on the riffs you present. However, not today. What was it? As the father of a musician, I'll have to hook you up with my son if you're ever in the Philadelphia area. He owns a recording studio and he's constantly networking and consulting with musicians locally and nationally.

Pasha is great. Ideal intense seemed a bit smokie to me. Lately I am leaning toward playful, youthful, easygoing ones, even bublegumies. In case, you consider some comparison. A pleasure, as always.

Guerlain L'Homme Ideal EDP, EDT, L'Intense, and the Extreme which is my 2nd favorite under the EDT being my favorite. Anyways the whole Ideal line is absolutely amazing and I can't say that about many fragrances and their flankers. If you haven't tried any of these you are doing yourself a great injustice if you're a frag head like me. Trust me you can't go wrong with any of them but the EDP, EDT and the Extreme are str8 🔥🔥. JC said it best, it is probably the most hyped because it is for a very good reason plain and simple! Amazing house with amazing scents! You're welcome! Lol
You've got to respect overture, but man is that a tough wear! To me it'd best suit the head honcho at a big black tie event (also second shout out to sunshine man for being something really rather good and very different). Absolutely agree on the l'intense (not that the EDP isn't also a banger!)
Oligarch is stunning and a compliment getter too. Also huge fan of Sultanate of Oman, Midsummer Dream, Madison and Danger. Elysium seems too safe and boring to me.
Hi nice video, I recently tried Kalan from Parfum de Marly and I believe it is really underrated vs the other fragrances of the brand such as Herod, Pegasus or Layton.
I need to revisit Kalan!
Tom Ford's oud wood made me fall in love with oud fragrances. So, well done and timeless. Unfortunately, TF Tobacco oud not that much of a fan of. because, tf tobacco vanilla I was first to sample and it was a disappointment. They are so similar!

By the way, Valentino may not be remarkable in itself, but in the layer... oh, that's where magic comes in!
I combine it with TF Oud Wood - and they merge together like Yin and Yang.
Dry woodiness from Oud Wood, combined with richness from Valentino - this is where they complement each other perfectly and creating a new balanced oud composition.
Oud Wood has become more expressive,
Oud Essence has become more multifaceted = perfect balance ✨
I know it as for free? - Kendrick Lamar. But I suspect it was a sample of something older.

For me, Figment Man is definetly the most underrated fragrance from Amouage. Although I can understand why. It definitely leans artistic and I wouldn't call it a crowd-pleaser or versatile. With a healthy dose of animalic qualities. Nonetheless, fantastic and ethereal.

Thameen, Carved Oud is Oud Wood on steroids. That and Mancera Coco Vanille are getting more play. One more would probably be 1 Million Parfum. It's warm in Cali but it's cooling down. 😎

Great video! Don’t own any niche fragrances yet. What should I get first? I live in Texas so it’s warm 9 months of the year so something for warmer weather would be best. Thoughts on a good starter?
@Jeff Link Hey bro. My recommendations for possible niche fragrances would be: Amouage Beach Hut Man (very green, fresh profile) OR Ramon Monegal La Isla Blanca (sweeter/fruity profile). Reason I recommended both is due to their BEAST MODE PROJECTION! However, don't just take my word for it and belive me.....do your own research and watch other reviews regarding the aforementioned frags. We're talking MONSTER sillage! I get 10+ hours on skin easily, and on clothes it'll be there for dayz! Both are very high quality juices blended to perfection. All great reasons why many people pay that niche premium. IMO, I would give Beach Hut Man the nod for versatility as I could easily see it being a year-round signature scent. Both frags range in price from $150-200 depending where you find them. Good luck sir!
Parfums de Marly Sedley is great. Also Roja Parfums Oceania, Argos Pour Homme, and I agree with Jose about Beach Hut!
