The tip of the idle air control valve is called a pintle. Yes you want to be careful not to damage it or twist on it mainly because of the spring. These parts are innodated with gasoline and additives constantly. Ive used carb cleaner / throttle body cleaner and even strait up acetone to clean grime and carmelization off I.a.c.valve for years and never had any real issues from it. All it did was make it feel like it ran better for a while. Chances are if you are that far into figuring out why your engine is running shitty its either got a shit ton of miles on it or several components have slowly gone bad. It happens . nothing lasts forever. My 93 s10 4.3 has 330+ miles on it and still runs better than most other cars half its age!
The big question is he never talked and what product are you using to clean it Because you can only use certain products on a throttle sensor to clean them
fazbear gamer , ok, go ahead, then scratch your ass, wondering why it is still screwed up then, whiz kid! Keep doing it over till you figure it out. Sounds like you need the practice. Gee, I wonder why the engineers didn't think of that? Amazing!
What size was that adjustable wrench. I noticed 1-1/8 goes around it... But not snuge.. changed it now I have a high idle more in neutral not as loud driving. But when I unplugged the factory map sensor it got normal like quiet.
@@aladdin1709 yep I went to harbor and got me a set.. and I put new iac in. Now it's doing a high idle in neutral not as much as in gear. I also changed o2 sensor . I have no cat so no rear of sensor.
i have a low idle when i turn my steering wheel any idea what it might be the distributor timings off ? or simple as the idle control bmvalve is dirty ? ( distributors cap n rotor r new ) but it was low idling on turns even before i changed em
Thomas Anderson distributor did fix the problem but a mechanic did thr timing for me althoug i did change the fuel filter.. the egr .. ignition coil and cap and rotr just check all these things
@@luisanaya9327 I just bought a 1994 k1500 about a month ago. Already changed the steering shaft with a Jeep Cherokee's. Replaced the high pressure power steering hose. Changed the fuel filter. Changed out IAC and PCV valves. Does the distributor also cause the dash gauges to jump around? If I put on the turning signal the guages bounce to the sound of the turning signal. I tell my wife that its a built in feature...stop sign entertainment.
its not a fuel injector... touch the end all you want. Just question it if theres a lot of carbon build up on it? if not no worries. it resets every time you turn the key on. It closes... then counts however many notches out(factory set parameter). just have to make sure it has a clean and even seat on the inside of throttle body, other wise it wont be right. It will hesitate or act like its running out of fuel under a heavy load(like its running out of gas).
Thanks so much! This just saved my ass. Back on the road
Finally after 10 videos. I found one that straight 2 it and its clear.

Thats 330,000+ miles sorry bout the typo
You forget to clean the bottom of the cavity. Very important. New seal should be installed also.
Too much talking.
THANK YOU SIR

Ah the sound of silence,
Are you sure you don't need the gasket for it, that's laying on the manifold that fell off when you removed it? Lol
Rick Bodi yes already put it back
no need to be an asshole about it i dont see u uploading a vid of how to help others
ah, who need a gasket anyway, just torque the s**t out of it.

luis anaya check both distributor timing and idle air control valve , sometimes the distributor is bad you need to take it apart and check it
ayadi ala i have a new one right here waiting to be installed ill just knock all that out in the same day since im at it thanks ! !

Not supposed to spray on that sensor. Didnt do anything
I think you dropped the gasket.
Don't clean. Replace it. Amazon may have AC Delco part at a good price. Got one for my 1995 Silverado around 50.00
Why are you here then ?🤣😂🤣😂😂

I see a missing vacuum line.....
timestamp?
The EGR valve ....all of video. installed with-out gasket on recording too.
Some narration would be nice.
You just doing completely wrong, you not suppose to touch the tip of the valve and not only that, you also twisted

I need to change mine. I have hesitation sometimes. Rite it’s feel like it’s running out of gas.
What did you use to clean it .
You can use carburator or throttle body cleaner
Also brakes cleaners it's less expensive
Just get a new one....
dont waste time with chicken crap (a $30 part) like that, just replace it dude 💩
$60 part
