My question. If the tent is 200 lbs and you have 3 person tent.. average weight is 150lbs. Aren’t going going over weight limit? I got the exact same adarak only to realize the weight limit of 500lbs... I’m a bigger guy, with wifey and dog. Worried about the weight rating.
Generally speaking the weight rating published on racks is a dynamic weight rating meaning the rack can take this weight while driving on the road. Because there are much less forces at work while the vehicle is standing still (static weight rating) this usually means the rack can be loaded higher than the posted limit. However this is a use at your own risk situation as a static load rating is not something most rack manufactures publish. We hope this helps!
On issue I’ve found is, while camping, with the truck bed cover, your storage is limited. If you can afford it, I’d suggest a canopy that has roof racks on it (that are rated for 5-700lbs
Hey Sean 👋 Your right, this rack is not build with much aerodynamics. However with the rack on the bed of the truck you won't hear any noise it might make in the cabin. Also the uprights and bars can easily be removed when not in use.

Hi There, The Adarac Aluminum Pro Series has a dynamic weight ratting of 500 lbs. Most rooftop tents are between 130-175 with a few of the two ladder tents going upwards of 230+ lbs. This means you are well within the dynamic weight ratting of this tent. Your static load is your stationary load, i.e. parked and ready to camp! This load is significantly stronger and that is how you can camp 4+ people in Roof Top Tents! Yes, we have put these beside a number of Bakflip covers without issue. As long as your tonneau mounting rails don't cover the trucks stake pockets you're golden!
This system generally holds up great. In this particular build, with the GIANT Redwood tent, we ended up adding a 3rd bar to spread the load. This customer needed a bit more support for the 5+ man tent and a very avid and adventurous outdoor lifestyle. 2-4 man tents are no problem.
Thinking of getting the Adarac for a RTT. It is beefy enough and anchors tight enough for off road. Recently saw a review of a non Adarac that broke under 4x4 stress and a bit concerned if the Adarac is suitable. Just curious of thoughts?
Sorry for our late reply. We have had great success with Adarac and no failures. However offroad use is very hard to measure as the amount of stress each person subjects their vehicle to offroad is very different. We hope this helps!
I have a 2017 Nissan Titan 5.7 bed with this same bakflip cover. I couldn't find anything like this rack on your website for my truck. Is there any options like this for my truck?
Unfortunately, the Titan has no "off the shelf" solutions because Nissan did not put stake pockets in all 4 corners of the bed. You will need a custom solution and some drilling.
Hello, I am an avid kayak guy. I currently have a tonneau cover on my 2013 Tacoma PreRunner. The railing on the bed are pretty much exposed and free from the tonneau cover. Is there a way I can use the Adarac Bed Rack System and still keep my tonneau cover ? Is there a contact number I can call to get more information ?
Hey Danny, Sadly the Adarac system will not work on a Tacoma due to the truck having a composite bed instead of the metal one. This means the bed is not strong enough to support any type of rack on it. There are a few kits out there that utilize the the tracking system on the inside of the bed, however all of these are low racks and they will not give you enough clearance to carry kayaks. The only viable option would be the Yakima Overhaul and a new Retrax tonneau cover as these two are compatible with will give you the clearance you will need to carry kayaks. The new Elevate Rack from Truxedo works with Tonneau Covers and has a higher Payload rating. Might be worth checking out depending on your application! Hmm, that is strange. Adarac lists a fitment for this truck and while we have not done this setup specifically on the fifth gen Chevy/GMC we have done this setup on the older 4th gen. We used the Aluminum Pro Series with the Bakflip hard folding Tonneau. Did they happen to tell you why this would not work?

We also have a low version profile rack which makes loading soo much easier. But it does not play nice with hard folding tonneaus. Some people will rig up a pull system if you have a garage or carport.

Good spot! Yes, we often flip the caps to add clearance. They fit either way.

I have the same truck model and year with the same tonneau. My stake pockets are not covered. Is this rack still my best option?

How do you get a 200lb+ tent up that high easily? That's my issues I really want that track for my smittybilt xl
We use a forklift at he shop, but 2-3 friends and a 2 step ladder worked for us before we had these luxuries.
