    The soundstream just has a dust cap that covers the entire cone, if you look under you will see the top and bottom are different. The reason specs don't seem right is epsilon says whatever will sells a product real or not. One thing I've seen done is including the T yoke and top plate in the weight, when motor weight normally is only the ferrite. A real "200iz" motor is pretty large.

    You have some of the realistic reviews 👍
    Love the name Gothic. Some soundstream r3 Gothics and I'm sold. I'll be running 4 regardless.
    Myself have also loved the tightness of the r3's. Kickdrum's matter 🤣

  • @likeclockwork64butbetter58

    I always wanted to see a head to head between the classic black Gothic and the R3s. Good to know that the Soundstream subs weigh the most. Makes sense given that the R3s were always more expensive than the Gothics

    I just bought 3 R3-10's.. I built a 4.5 cubic foot box with two 3"x5" flared ports I believe tuned to 32hz. Installing tomorrow then break in for a few days. Oh BTW, will be running these off of the recoil red 1800.5.. I think will be a good match

    I'm picking the Soundstream Reference, based soley on looks.

      Yes but those seem to be the same as the gothic so I did not bother adding that one to the test. It already was a lot of work :)

    All good subs but i would take the R3 all day main reason would be looks. but to be fair im a huge fan of soundstream. that and im doing a soundstream build with hard to find stuff like xxx6500 and oldschool x2 15s.

    That “cone” on the R3 is a full dish dust cap. There’s a cone underneath.

    Hey brother, after our conversations about what 10" subs I should run in .80 per chamber sealed behind the seat setup in my 03 Supercrew. You recommended the 10" R3 and I really love the way they look and what not. Is the R3 the best out of these 3? I would like to save a few bucks if ones less expensive but is as good. If not I'll just pay the $94 each for the sounstream

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  Před 2 lety

      Well the Walmart subwoofer is out because they only come in 12 inch so yes you can choose between the Soundstream or the Gothic 10 inch they both sound great I prefer the Soundstream a little bit but the Gothic isn’t far behind and sounds great.

  • @johnnyditommaso6807
    @johnnyditommaso6807 Před 2 lety +5

    Great work. IMO the Walmart Gothic for 80 bucks is the best buy here. All subs can take 800 watts and I bought 4 Walmart gothics myself because I didn't want to pay 120 or more for the other subs.

      @HiFiVector  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks man appreciate it! Yeah bottom line is I wanted to know if there was a difference and as you saw there’s some physical differences but sound wise they all sound awesome! The Soundstreams were a little tighter and I could hear that a little bit when comparing them but other than that man they all rock for sure! 👍

    The Walmart Gothics are DVC 4Ω and the normal Gothics are DVC 2Ω. I don't believe there were many other differences

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  Před rokem +1

      I agree between the Power Acoustik Gothics and Walmart Gothics not much difference beside the impedance and looks. Now the Soundstream R3 way different sounding sub Much slappier, cleaner and accurate ( nice tight crisp sub) But all are very good budget subs. Just depends on the sound you like.

    Power Acoustik overrating their car audio? No way! 😂 they make decent products, they just need to stop overrating all their products.
