- Mediterranean cruises are great! The only thing is the cruise terminal in Rome is a port town called Civitavecchia and it's 1 hour and 15 mins! Taxis to the port can be very costly so the best and fastest way to get there is by train! Here I will show how easy it is to get to the port in under €10!
This is exactly what I needed! Thanks man! Hope you had a great holiday.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much, this was very helpful. Taking Royal Carribbean in July.
Did the train ride a couple of years ago. Cheap and simple.
Thanks for the info.
You're welcome! 👍🏼
Thanks for the video. Will he taking this trip/cruise in Dec of this year. Looking forward to it.
You're welcome!
What’s the travel time via train from Rome to Australia?
Its great. Especially if you stay near Termini on the side where the Forum is. Just walk over. But if you have to take a Taxi it can get expensive especially if you get gouged so know the approx fair beforehand and they changed the entrance to the Port and made it far away so its hard to walk over with your bags if you are older. Again, Taxi. Do they have a shuttle? And that all add up.
Yes staying close to Rome Terminal Station is convenient. When you do arrive at the Civitavecchia station there are taxi shuttles there that can take you to your cruise terminal for cheap.
You flew from Miami to Istanbul to Rome? Yikes! How long did it take? I fly out from Ft. Myers to Newark to Rome to take the NCL Getaway from Civitavecchia in two weeks. I very much appreciate you showing how simple the train was from the city to the port! Thanks for posting.
Thanks! The flight from Miami to Istanbul took 11 hours. Hope you enjoy your trip!
Perfect video, we are taking the Epic transatlantic in a couple of weeks after staying in Rome for a week. We are planning on taking the train, but I keep seeing things about lots of stairs you have to go up and down if you use the train -- is that only if you walk from the train station to the port terminal? I didn't see any stairs in your video.
The only stairs I saw was when we got to the Civitavecchia train station to get under the train tracks to get to the other side of the station. They do have elevators too.
Dude, your video couldn’t be more timely. Flying to Rome in May to take odyssey of the seas for a nine day cruise. Question, how many bags did you bring on the train between Rome and the port? Were there issues with bags on the train?
I took 2 bags but was traveling with a family so we all had like 10 bags! Good thing Italians are super friendly and have that laidback attitude so they didn't mind having all those bags in the train.
👍👍
What is the seat look like? U did not show the inside of the train. Thank you for sharing
Hello Jonathan. In minute 1:39 - 1:45 you can see the seats. They're leather bucket style seats.
I’ll be there in September on Epic!
Have fun! Beautiful weather and less crowds!
FYI: The cost is 10,60 euros (one-way) for 1 person from Roma Termini to Civitavecchia Port.
Civitavecchia (Tutte Le Stazioni), is 4,60 euros. So I wonder if the extra 6 euors is for the bus transport to the curise ship?
Correct. In 2021 the one way train ticket was 4 Euros while the taxi ride to the cruise terminal is 5 Euros or bus ride for 2 Euros.
Also, do you remember if the NCL Epic was docked on port 25 or port 12?
That I'm not quite sure. I just told the taxi driver to take us to NCL and he already knew where it was. It was also easy to spot the ship from the train station.
It was 12, 12 bis nord to be exactly
Also, can you pay the shuttle or the bus with a card or do they only accept cash? Thank you
Yes they do allow cards but I paid with cash to avoid international fees.
@@alsadventuresofficial thank you for the quick response, appreciate you 😁
Hi, is there room to store full size suitcases?
Yes there is a section that you can place big luggage.
Any station for the same train to Civitavecchia from Vatican City? (We're staying at Prati next to Ottaviano station) Thanks
You could take the train, bus, or taxi from Ottaviano to Rome Termini then buy your ticket from Rome Termini to Civitavecchia.
@@alsadventuresofficial thank you!!
You could take the same train from Roma San Pietro (usually from track 5)
@@lorenzo_de_paolis thanks! so the same train departing from Termini to Civitavecchia makes a stop at San Pietro station? that's good news since San Pietro station it's closer to me.
@@mariadedios708 yes
did you take a bus from airport to the train station?
I took a bus from the airport to the center of Rome since I stayed there for 2 days then walked to the train station to the port.
hi, does this train have toilets ? i suffer from a bowel disorder and need to know 😅
No worries! Every train has at least 1 bathroom
Does the train have wifi
Hello. Yes the trains got Wifi. I didn't use it though.
#1. Was there any designated space in the train to put luggage and was it safe?
#2. Was there a Covid-19 testing requirement for you to enter Italy?
#3. What time did your cruise depart, and what time did passengers allowed to enter?
Thanks very much for the video. I'll be boarding the NCL Epic soon and I'd like to play my trip accordingly.
Hey!
1. There is a section that you can put your luggage and the train is very safe. For smaller luggage you can place it on a seat next to you if you want to be extra careful.
2. When I went Italy did required a Covid test.
3. My cruise left at 7pm but I boarded around 12pm.
Hope you have a great time!
