This Volvo XC90 key looks the same as the previous ONE. However is not, this is an upgraded key that has newer technology built in. STOP KEYLESS relay attacks using the key shutting down feature. After the remote is left unmoved for 30 minutes, the key goes into sleep mode and won't communicate. Therefore, a relay attack is impossible, as the remote key won't reply to the hacking keyless signal device.
The relay attack is the most common method used to steal keyless cars
It can be stopped in different ways, however this is one of the most advanced, and many other manufacturer are introducing this in productions.

The key is not fool proof they are still effective from relay , Ford also has the same technology. It only takes for someone with a relay unit to get close to the key in a supermarket car park or when it is on the move to send the handshake . The key only is effective once it has times out and not moved for a period of time .

Very cool idea and I'm very interested in knowing how much this upgrade will cost. And so easy to use as well...
For me a cheap faraday pouch don't work for more than six months to a year, if you're lucky. Cheap pouch vs expensive car doesn't work for me

Faraday pouch is the only effective tool to prevent a relay attack

Big problem with a faraday pouch, they don't last very long and you may never know when they become useless with regular use. If they last a year, you are doing well.

Just use a Farraday pouch, no need for this.

By the time you have got out of your cad in the supermarket or going to the local shop it's too late, especially with the new captured signal device . We have developed a immobiliser system that kills the cars transmission signal and is activated either by secret switch, smart phone hook up or we can supply you with a separate fob on our own signal and it can not be repeated and is out of the band width for the repeater. Prices start from £150 for a basic switch and up to £1200 for mobile phone .
