But I was always willing to make the drive after a hard days work, staying as late as I could, then driving back to work where I'd sleep in my truck until 5 am to start work. My husband and I did the same thing, took care of each other while dating and have been together 21 years, married almost 17 years, HAPPILY together.

Exactly, I've been to a few of my friends' weddings, and it always seem like right after the honeymoon they start drifting apart. One of my friends, he got married back in 2003, and they are still together and love each other but it seems like they are just filling a role vs. Being in love like they were when they were dating.

I've been married for 20 years, and I think the key to a successful marriage is to be married before you are married. The day we got married, my mind was made up long before that. We were basically a married couple for at least a year before we actually got married. The only things that really changed was her last name and next of kin.

My wife stole my heart fast. I was in love in no time with all the things she did. I remember when I first met my wife, I worked as a roofer, and she lived an hour and a half away. But I was always willing to make the drive after a hard days work, staying as late as I could, then driving back to work where I'd sleep in my truck until 5 am to start work. The gifts she would give and make me, the way she would lovingly make meals for me to take with me to work, the things she did for me, like rubbing my sore muscles, and just looking at me with so much love. I bragged about her to anyone I could, just like this guy. God bless this new couple. This is how relationships should be : both people just constantly trying to make the other happier than ever.

My husband and i are like this and it always makes me happy to see others in love and happy. The world is full of bad, but it's nice to have an oasis. Keep doing the little acts of love, even when you don't feel like it. We're 3 kids deep into life and by putting each other first we can care for our children and life with a full cup.
