    exactly what I was waiting for, and exactly the results I was hoping for. a 70watt hour battery with the latest AMD chip is quite an amazing combo. I can't wait for mine to arrive now. I'm not sure why Lenovo has a 9 series when the 7 line seems to get the right combination of features. Maybe they're designed by different teams and are allowed to go head to head against each other? 120hz, 3050, 6000 AMD, under 1.3KG and high definition screen (but not 4K so as to save a tiny bit of battery) and a 14.5'' screen instead of the standard 14''. Brilliant.

      Glad to hear it! Yes the combination is great and was also very glad to see the runtimes as it creates some slack of likely guaranteeing +7hrs of mixed productive work combined with very low standby discharge (will test this as well).
      As for 9-series vs 7-series, I believe its the standard approach of offering that little bit of extra performance for that much more money, as some will always pay significantly more for a few single digits of performance gain

    Hello, I am a private user, so this is from my own personal perspective and experience! I just received my Yoga slim 7 pro x (ryzen7 + with rtx3050) and I am somewhat negatively surprised by the poor battery performance of my device, I can literally watch the battery persentage running down point by point.
    When I buy a 3k screen, with 120hz refresh rate and 400nits brightness I dont want to scale down to FHD resolution, 60hz and 200nits brightness. Right now I am doing absolutely light work, checking Emils or watching CZcams Videos. My screen is on 3k, with 120hz and ca. 75% brightness. The windows battery mode is on balanced, the lenovo vantage mode is on intelligent cooling and I am barely getting more then 4!!! hours out of my device. The rtx is also not running! Right now I am just really disappointed, how can this be? Why putting together such a devive if you cannot use its full potential? What am I supposed to do with 4h battery, I feel like 10years ago where I couldn´t leave the house without charger! SInce I started writing this comment my battery went down from 93% to 89% its ridiculous.

      @@renebayer9548 "Why putting together such a device if you cannot use its full potential?" Well, because you can. Contrary to popular belief, most people do run their laptops in not-so-few cases while plugged in. Why put together a device that has to be so handicapped and only run at battery-friendly performance levels ?
      Thing is, 10 years ago you didn't have any problem running the laptop in 1366x768 or 1920x1080p resolution. With probably worse color accuracy. Probably less brightness too. And you had to wait 10 seconds for a google sheets page to load. Nowadays you have much more than that. You really can dial down the settings and not miss much.

So if you want to work whole Day on battery you should buy a macbook m1 (and you're still not be able to run heavy tasks) or somehow enable maximum energy saving. Sad but True. • @WattPerformance
      @WattPerformance  Před 2 lety

      With intelligent cool (which is the base mode you should use) they are silent or nearly inaudible during light tasks. Nothing that bothers me and if you are sensitive you can always use battery saver which still provides enough juice to the CPU (15W) to be efficient whilst being even more silent. With fan offs during video stream for example the fans are off, when browsing intensively the fans can start and go up to ~39db (measuring 1.5dm above the keyboard) after they then ramp down again. Would have preferred customizable fan curves to set the levels myself, but Im not bothered by the fans unless you are gaming or editing video

    • @WattPerformance
      @WattPerformance  Před 2 lety

      @@renebayer9548 I’ve stated in the video that it’s run in 60hz and I it’s standard practice to optimize batterylife prior to hz and screen brightness when unplugged in the same way you don’t use the RTX3050 or boost the cpu to 60W. The maximum performance, full brightness and refresh rate is a joy when plugged in. 4 hours sounds low but hard to check accurately in regards to same power saver settings etc, might be that the refreshrate and brightness impacts it that much, cannot speak to your case specifically.
      I made the tests with the goal to confirm the statements of Lenovo and they even used lower screen brightness.
      I’m certain that the battery performance is decreased significantly when using it the way you do so then it’s a matter of priorities. I expect around 7hrs with more mixed usage as I also state in the video where I believe that the browsing tests are a bit to optimistic compared to real world use.

      For high performance CPUs in laptops, AMD is currently king. Low performance AMD is king but Intel got excellent battery saving features which saves them to some extent. This is not a battery monster but a beast in performance and AMD will win in both gaming and daily use in terms of providing lower heat at equal or better performance. Intel’s strength in laptops is in ultraportable without performance requirements or the ultra laptop gaming setups with +100W to spare for the CPU.
