Tom, thank you for sharing your knowledge. Many take their employment for granted. I’m a truck driver, dime a dozen theses days. Loads are getting light for all drivers. Winds of change are blowin’, we all need to be ready.
Having been in engineering, leadership, and an entrepreneur… I find your business advice is spot on. There’s one point on this that I’d like to add. Layoffs usually depend on your annual evaluation EXCEPT for an unwritten aspect of how well you “fit” with your supervisory “chain of command”. As an employee, you only have to upset a single link in that chain to be included on the next layoff list. As an entrepreneur, your “chain of command” is horizontal instead of vertical. If you upset a link in your entrepreneurial chain of command it’s usually easier to repair and if it can’t be repaired and you lose that customer… it can be replaced with another customer.
Great advice, Tom. I am so glad I took retirement in 2020. I learned layoff has nothing to do with your quality of work and not to take it personally. Thanks for sharing Tom and Noe. 🙏 😎🏖🏝

The only thing that will keep you employed is if there is a shortage of air conditioning technicians like in my particular case or trades people in general. I will finish by saying THINGS HAPPEN FOR A REASON AND SHIT HAPPENS. if you can keep strong and ask God for help he will never forsake you. God is the inventor of loyalty we should follow his lead. I appreciate your explanation of “loyalty has an expiration date”. I understand and would ALMOST agree with you, but having been in the Marines, and seen with my own eyes, what we did for each other. For this reason, I feel sorry for you. You use the word “loyalty” but it is most certainly not the same as my definition and as you freely talk about it, it’s clear that you have never felt that visceral meaning of loyalty. I can only imagine what a sad void you must have. But I’m still very grateful for your videos as you are competent with good communication skills.

@@SleepyLizard For people in the minimum wage spectrum, they turn towards entitlement programs. Very difficult for someone in that income bracket to buy their own franchise, after being laid off from a job at a franchise.
I'm working in finance for one of the banks and still in my first year. After silicon valley bank going under, other banks have been doing poorly and have been laying people off. Im a customer service rep and I'm wondering if im next...

@@SleepyLizard i own 28 acers of ranch land in new mexico I bought fo cheap a few years ago. Im just saving to build a small farm house 1,000 sqft for cheap and start farming figs and anything else for food. My job is actually fully remote but it's crazy they keep us on camera all day and only have a 30 min break. We’re very under staffed also. Idk where it's heading but I just want to go back to living the simple life like I did as a kid before I moved here from Italy 20 years ago as a kid.
