Did You Know The Jackfruit Fruit Grows To Over 100lbs and Tastes Like Bubblegum?
Jackfruit are as delicious as they are huge! I been staying away from this fruit because it has a very strong smell while it's ripening. When ripe it's got a sweet fruity smell and the fruit on the inside is amazing. Here's how to cut one open and eat the fruit.

Sawyer Bartelt is the #1 ranked college wresting recruit for 2024. He earned a wrestling scholarship to Iowa state. He is in the agriculture program at South Dade High School where he plays football with my son. He mentioned his senior project for the ag program was to graft mangos and asked if he could come by to harvest some cuttings. You can buy Sawyers' grafted mango trees at: www.guacfarm.com

How I wish I could grow a mango 🥭 tree! But watching yours grow and mature is satisfying enough. Thanks for sharing!
please, its in a pot but i bet the roots burrow through that pot and into the ground. show us under that plastic pot.
Of course! I grow everything in containers because we're renting and have to relocate my little orchard when we move. My mother in law grew a beautiful mango tree in a large barrel...but it wasn't nearly as big as yours 🌳🥭😎
Awesome buddy 👍👍👍👍✌️👏👏👏👏👏
How long do they typically take to grow?
I am tired of trying to grow mangos from seed. I have tried five seeds now only like 1 germinated. I have one right now germinating and it looks promising. Maybe this time. Problem is that mangoes here are often rather expensive and have poor quality so I don't often have seeds.
Love it!! So there's hope for me, even in Virginia!!😅
Brother great video
That photon makes my skin glow. Love Haas avocados.
What size pot is it in
Sorry, but that mango already exists, we call it Donkey Stones
Awesome Mango varieties which i want to buy regularly.
so delicious
Nice work homie, any seeds or seedlings for sale this season?
I've got some grafted mango trees on the web site in limited supply. The way to get seeds is to buy the fruit...also on the web site. And since CZcams surpasses comments with links I have to tell you the web site is: guacfarm. you know what to type before and after
Are you sure your tree is not rooted to the ground? First BTW:)
yes im sure. I move that guy around a lot. I've already got the hole dug for him but I wanted to let him fruit in the pot for this vid.
😂😂he looks like good guy.He loves his plants.excellent video.
😁
Real talk, I like the way he explained in detail.
thank you
Love how you've involving and mentoring the youth! Keep up the great work and I'm enjoying your videos as well!
these young men are doing a great job in life. one of them had his first job interview this past Friday.
My god you need to have your own TV show. You’re so knowledgeable.
wow, what a boost to my confidence, thank you
Wowwwww thank you for this educational video. You make it look so easy and fun to grow stuff. Thank Mr. Avocado man!!!
thanks!
I have watched at least one video that mentioned that the middle plants were often the clones, while the most and least vigorous plants were potentially the pollinated versions. So if you had four sprout from the seed, the ones to keep would be the two middle ones that would usually be identical in size and vigor. Have you seen anything like this in yours?
I've only heard the least vigorous is the fertilized one...never heard the most vigorous. I'm not saying it's not accurate, just I've never been told that.
@@SleepyLizard Awesome. I assume you let them grow a bit before deciding whether a smaller one is a runt rather than a late-sprouter? I have some Honey mango seeds I'm about to plant. I'm half tempted to break them apart to see if that helps them sprout more simultaneously to make runt identification easier.
🇺🇸
💪
The 10 -12 year is a big overstatement
yes lot's of people like to say that. I'm guessing you live somewhere with great soil and your grandma planted a tree that fruited in 5 years? And avocados just grow along the side of the road? Probably on an island somewhere? Am I close? 🤣
@@SleepyLizard 😭🤣 bro is tracking me yeah but I also planted 1 when I was 15 and it beard fruit in 5 years
If you want avacodos to eat do not use seed. They are not good. All…yes all the avocados you eat have come from grafts.
did you watch the whole video?
@@SleepyLizard I did and he does say its a crap shoot..but in reality getting a good tasting avacodo from seed could make you a millionare...it doesn't happen
It's been 8 years since I planted my Haas avocado, it's now 9Ft tall in a 22-inch container, I have yet to see it bloom. I'm patiently waiting.
you're close. I have two I planted 9 years ago. one flowered and gave one avocado this year the other hasn't flowered yet.
Super 👌
thx
It will be great to see a video about different varieties, comparison etc
I've got some shorts that compare and contrast varieties
I recently bought a house that already had like 6 mango trees. Now they’re producing fruit but I’m starting to think they might be different varieties but I was never told which ones are which. Is there anyway I can identify the differences? How can I know if they’re ripe without knowing which variety they are?
send me pics of the fruit. my contact info is in the "about" section.
Honest, straightforward. No BS, no hype. This should be used as a model for YT videos. As far as I can tell, perfect advice. Thank you, Lizard. (sleepy or otherwise). Well done.
Thank you Ray I appreciate your supportive comments.
It's an Alanzo
ok thanks!
all of my graftings dry the next week after .and i follow every step of every video on youtube or steps on google .dont know what else to do.
Try wrapping the cutting with buddy tape
@@SleepyLizardi have been using construction bag strips,it stretch nice ,and hold very good ,maybe is the material that suffocate the cuttings ,will try with the crafting tape ,also when i made air layering they wont produce roots ,i keep the mix moist but it does not works ,never ,,,from 30 something seedlings i have right now like 7 left ..the last ones . thanks man.
Well you are enjoying so much....i adore your passion.Have a healthy long life doing what you love.
Thank you
Do you grow the bamboo that you used for the trellis? Is it invasive? Love your videos
we do grow the bamboo. we grow several varieties. I'm not sure I'd describe it as invasive but its definitely hard to control. not really an issue for me because we got the space but it could be a problem in a backyard.
This is great info. I’m scared to spend so much love on one plant. I’ll be so disappointed when the racoons come and steal it away.🥹
always plant way more than you need.
@@SleepyLizard thank you‼️😁👏🏽 I’m going to. I especially appreciate your explanation of the toothpick/jar/seed technique for sprouting a root. I had no idea how elementary that was and why. Living in Southern California, it’s my life’s mission to grow and nurture a successfully fruiting avocado “bush”. Your videos are wonderful. I appreciate you😊🙏🏽Teaching is your jam(or guac)🤣‼️👏🏽
@@stedydubdetroit guac is my jam
where can i get that awesome shirt
we sell them at www.guacfarm.com
just in case CZcams deleted my comment go to the website called: guacfarm. put a www in the front and a dot com at the end. sorry to speak in code but youtube has been deleting comments with web links
I nursed my indoor avocado tree for 3byrs now and it looked so healthy and beautiful but now the leaves are all started to wither with brown like stripes over it. It looks as if wants to die but there is still a few new leaves coming out. What to do?😮
Simply beautiful to see how fresh and lovely the fruits look. Love it! ❤
thank you for the encouraging comments.
Thanks a lot man that was a great lesson in growing avocado trees.
you are welcome and thank you for the comment
you need to go to the casino and bet on red or black lol
All my luck has run out 🤣
You had me at one inch at a time 😂😅😉 Came across someone harvesting one of those babies on tik tok and had to know more ❤ lol.
🤣🤣🤣
I guess my question is, why did it take so long?
December is not the ideal time to harvest mango cuttings. This is the time of year that they push buds. So it stayed alive then budded on its schedule
Brother I'm retired and now a Mango enthusiast, what kind of grafting tape do you use to graft and wrap the cutting, Help please 🙏
buddy tape on the cutting and regular grafting tape on the graft junction
