The Rutherford/Collins rhythm section is simply outstanding on this track. Blows me away every time i listen to it.
Always love the quote from Supper’s Ready in tribute to Peter “There's an angel standing in the sun, Free to get back home.” .
Amen!
Everytime when this part comes in, i couldn't held back the tears. They're just flows as the coda plays
There's a really neat thematic sense about it. Accepting the premise that we all have an angel side and a devil on the other, in the title track, the horned one can't find anywhere he belongs until he goes back to his own home. But here in Los Endos, at the end of all things, an angel appears perhaps heralding the idea that we are all welcome here if we accept the symbolic "savior" and find peace in ourselves - rather than having sought a city of towers, bright and gold.
That's perhaps a really Christian interpretation but that's what they were going for on Supper's Ready.
Me and my friends (at the time) always thought it was "Pete get back home"!
I always thought they included it to say this was the end of them writing fairytales.
3:58....this moment is pure magic. Like "Squonk" poking it's head out one more time and saying "Remember me?" 😊
Squonk is my favourite song of the album
So true, so good. Never realized those final lyrics from Phil was a final shout out to PG from Supper's Ready. Love that
How dare they have so much talent in one band? The nerve!!!
Foxtrot at fifty in Austin the night before the eclipse. Incredible show!
I was in Toronto last night at Massey Hall to see Steve Hackett and his band perform the whole album Foxtrot. It's the 50th anniversary of it's release. What an incredible concert. The first 30-40 minutes he did songs from his solo career, then there was an intermission. They came back and performed the whole Foxtrot album, starting with Watcher of the Skies and finishing with Supper's Ready. WOW!!!! It was incredible. Then after all of us screaming and clapping for them to do an encore, they came out and did this great song with a brilliant drum solo leading up to Los Endos. Dance on a Volcano was thrown in and my favourite Genesis song Firth of Fifth was also added. Steve's guitar solo on that song was absolutely brilliant. I know I'm a bit bias when it comes to Genesis music, but to me anyway, Steve Hackett is the best guitarist out there. There have been many great guitarists over the years, but this guy deserves all the recognition he gets.
Saw him in Rio de Janeiro, same tour, playing with an Argentinian cover band. The Genetics. Awesome.
Frig! I'm SO jealous! I saw Hackett in the late 80's! Wicked guitarist!!! ❤
What a fantastic sounding event. Generous of Steve too.
Same experienced me & my son last year in Steve's concert at San Sebastián's Kursaal Hall. It was like being at paradise.
I love the references to Supper’s Ready at the end.
Rutherford is taking the bass for a sprint on this track. Very fast, awesome player. One if their best albums and songs. 👍👌
He has rubber fingers. 😮
Some amazing bass and bass pedal playing throughout this album. There are several places in the album where he hits a really low note with the pedal and you can feel it in your sphincter, lol. I didn't realize how much Rutherford contributed to songwriting on this album, he came up with some really fantastic music and lyrics.
I love Genesis! The Best Band of the world! ♥️🎼🎶
Steve Hackett was still with him on this and Winds they have such a full sound!
Wind & Wuthering is coming!
There will never be another band like Genesis.
Peter or no Peter, there was a spirit within this band.
this is how you end an album
This is how Steve Hackett ends his shows.
Best prog band of all time❤
After Gentle Giant :)
The best ending of an album ever! 😎
Maybe after Supper's Ready!
I concur. It brings all the songs on the album together, in an admirable crescendo. One of Genesis's finest hours.
On Seconds Out.........absolutely❤🤟
4:30 One of the most epic and majestic moments in the history of music
Yeah!!!!👍👍👍👍
best part! often I think about that part in my head :)
First song who introduced me in progressive rock, even if i feel like the only teenager who listen this style today, i believe that prog have the best masterpieces songs of the universe. Thank you genesis
Peers be damned , they are all sheep following the same herd , Genesis rock !
@Susan Reed Seems to be the way of things , any excuse for a drinking session and getting wasted , never been my thing either , rather have a nice meal and a chat 😁
@Susan Reed Sorry to hear of your family troubles but sadly it's an all too familiar story . I was the last of 8 children in my family and I just caught the tail end of what I was later told was my father's change of personality , to put it mildly ,due to alcoholism . When he wasn't drinking he was very charming and likeable and he was a good dad to me but when the drink intervened it was the whole Jekyll and Hyde situation . I never really took to drink although I do enjoy a nice beer on a special occasion. I am really saddened by the young people I work beside who seem to revel in getting drunk on a weekly basis even some the younger ones who are just coming to legal drinking age and looking forward to it but I'm the one looked upon as the odd one out. Story of my like really but I'm now of an age where it doesn't bother me and I am who I am and because I get on with others they accept me for the oddball that I am and I just play it up now for what it's worth. Would I change anything if I could go back in time , probably not ! Best wishes to you and it's been nice to exchange a few kind words .
Oh no I'm there I'm 19 but been listening to Genesis since 15, so eccentric.
@@nidhimehta1244 I was 15 too when i first heard Genesis back in 1976 , Wind and Wuthering on cassette lol , then I gradually worked through their back catalogue and soaked in all the new releases that were to come. I've just turned 60 and still listening to this fabulous piece of music , never gets old 😊
Hi all I have followed Genesis for over 50 years now and will be travelling from Spain 🇪🇸 to Liverpool 🇬🇧 in October this year ( 2021 ) to see them in concert. I never get tired of there work. The best band in the world. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Love Genesis! The older stuff is my preference. Trick was a phenomenal album!
I was at the Liverpool concert also. Genesis are the best band ever.
"There's an Angel standing in the Sun "
One band I wish I could have experienced in concert.
They were phenomenal. Whether Peter and Steve were in the band or not.
A masterpiece. I love how it ties together so many threads from the other songs of the album. I'm hard pushed to think of a better final track of any album ever.
There's an angel standing in the sun.
I always loved how it wove in all the references to other songs on the album but your comment made it occur to me that not only were they tying together multiple threads from the album but they were also tying together the threads of the Gabriel years in their final tribute and farewell. I have to wonder what some of music history's great composers would think if they could hear this one piece. Oh wait, they'd have to hear the entire album to fully appreciate how amazing "Los Endos" truly is. Strap in, Beethoven.
Bienvenue au Paradis...Aucun Temps Mort...une Musique Inventive,Riche...l’Excellence Musicale...un incontournable pour 1 Fan de Genesis ! 🎸🎹🥁🔥😍😉👋✌❣🇧🇪
Best closing session ever on seconds out🥰🥰🥰Genesis best group ever
This is that song that can't be missed in a live show!🎸🎶❤️
Kinda waste of time on a live show, because they have so many better songs to play ...
It is being missed out on the UK version of "The Last Domino?" CD and LP release.
@@OriginalSamClark This whole album is missed out there, except for "Ripples", as always ...
Well yes given that it usually closes the concert
@@sophieschollsreinkarnation5078 i honestly think los endos is a fantastic piece and the best instrumental they ever put out but they do drag it on with the drum duet
Finest Genesis album!
second wind and wuthering
Genius, just absolutely incredible. Been listening to this album for more than 30 years. The drumming, just outstanding. Phil you have my heart. I love you. The insane drumming leading up to 3:59 the key changes and eeriness, the military type rhythm, then the drums crash in at 4:30 and the resolution, then at 4:57 when the vocals reprise. I am..... speechless. Just outstanding. You take my breath away.
Thank you so much from Paris, with all my love, take care of yourself, you're THE BEST.
Just been to see Steve Hacketts seconds out tour ,, mind blowing ... !!!
One of my favorites live with Phil and Chester!!!
🎶 Los Endos 🎶 Thanks Genesis For This Excellent, Awesome, Great
& Fantastic Masterpiece. You're The Best!!!!! GENESIS FOREVER!!!!!

It feels good to be alive & to be able to listen all the Genesis and solo music. 😊

There's an angel standing in the sun
Free to get back home
oo thanks for that, always wondered what it said there, wow! and the times have listened to it too...
think might have been recorded at Burnt Stub mansion in Chessington, was described as old rambling building and only one could think of...
where i grew up so thrilled at that - there was so much music in the area but sadly missed the 70's when it all kicked off with stones, hendrix, who knows what playing at charrington bowl.
southampton surbiton was wonderful for a good pub band (cry no more a fave - still going!), saw the Enid at the assembly rooms and grey horse, kingston mill and probably other places were happy places to go
😁
los endos sounds i bit like king crimson.
When I went to a Genesis concert for the Mama Tour, they didn't play Squonk but they played this. So, we got a taste of Sqounk.
My favorite song on this album.. A fantastic show in Denver at McNichols Arena
A perfect album
The best band I've ever seen and I've seen a lot! I'll miss Phil singing and jumping around, but most of all I'll miss his drumming (especially when in sync with Chester Thompson!!!)
What a way to end a perfect Album, somehow the genius of Genesis brought everything great about Trick synergistically together the vocals are brilliant.
Amazing!!!! Genesis you are the best 😘😘😘😘 many kisses from Argentina 💋💋💋specially to my beloved mr Phil Collins
Great song. Great album. Great band.
Great comment.
@@wesmantooth5908 Great reply.
great sound quality download!
A real sincere thank to this unbelievable sound of music... Neverend
One of my favorite songs of Genesis 😀👌
I didn't realize this is Sequel of "It's Yourself", and "Mad Man Moon" are the sequel of "Los Endos"....... 😭 These song are so God Damn beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Don't forget the Squonk ending....
To add to Phil drumming best and that this is probably the best prog rock masterpiece of all time, there is also this little instrument, that Mellotron.. and the chorus sound Tony adds at the song's last piece 7:10 coming out of nowhere seemingly that just does something to me everytime I hear it.. like it reaches into my soul ands tells me everything is going to be alright(God) when I'm down and out. Thanks Tony for adding that sweet Mellotron to the ending of Los Endos, the song would not be the same without it.
There's an angel standing in the sun...
Free to get back home!!!
Freed to get back, home! 🦅
One of the best composition ever !!!
One of the best reprises ever. Great ending as well
🎶 An Excellent & Powerful Song And Such A Perfect Way To Close An Excellent Album 🎶

GENESIS FOREVER!!!!!
My friend! I think so too 🎹🌟🎤✌🏼! Totally like THE BEST WAY to end the album 🥁🎹🪗🎤🎧❤️. I love the boys if Genesis so much!
I have the record because I Love Phil Collins. And I love the trick of the tail album.
Beautiful ❤️
Genesis is it Real.... Yes SIR
THANK GENESIS .💿🎶🎶🎶💜💙💚🎶🎶🎶
Ahh yes, the song with the Spanish sounding name.
I was first introduced to this song ages ago by a friend, it's an excellent song to end a damn good album.
The guys done this song proud on Seconds Out, excellent job 😎👍🥰🥰
I love you ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
2:58 Tony Banks blowing my mind for the umpteenth time.
First time I heard this reminded me of a Jean Luc Ponty song with a similarly crazy bass and percussion groove. Legendary
Sail away, away. Ripples never come back. Go to the other side. Sail away, away.
Great powerful track.
Great sound.......................................................................................................................
What a powerful song!!’ Selling England and Trick, and Wind are their best in my humble opinion.
Beautiful Tunes, Excellent Music Genesis … Always Live Listening To Your Music Be Well Be Safe 💓💓💓
Live is the best version 👍
hope to see it live...
...someday, in Berlin 😉✌
This must be part of the upcoming tour!
Yes!
Thank you again for more wonderful music and take care of yourself please, Mate
Here are the lyrics:
There's an angel standing in the sun
There's an angel standing in the sun

How are you premiering something that I have been listening to for over 40yrs. On Vinyl!
grandiozno!!!!!!
Emozioni ...
2.46 All we hear is Radio Ga Ga😊 Excellent drumming by Phill Collins.
The last track with Collins and Chester on drums, very "atmospheric" it sounds like space rock
You took the words right out of my mouth,honey.... I can't make a comment now so I'll just agree with you..LOL but you hit the nail right on the head...
Space Rock ? .... Why not , Spacey and positive prog rock tune . Well done.
@@kikil793 I think Banks' synth at the start gives it a bit of a Vangelis-ish feel evocative of cyberpunk
On "Seconds Out", yes. But here you are listening just to Phil. I'll always accept that some people don't like Phil's singing (I do, of course), but I'll defend him against anyone who says he wasn't a great drummer.
@@Patricia2Paris1 Sorry, I didn't make it clear that the final sentence was just an aside from me to highlight my appreciation of his drumming skills, i.e. bloody fantastic.
❤️🌹❤️
Musik für die Nachkommenschaft
I cant explain , drums are "tribal" if you understand.
"It's Yourself" the b-side of "Your Own Special Way" is like the missing intro to Los Endos
I can’t see my timer while You Tube is playing but from retinal memory sure looks like that disc is turning at 33 1/3.

OHHHHH ME....
5:03 China Paiste speakes loud.

I am a little dissapointed of "Los Endos" because it has not that length on the album as the live version which I prefer to hear.
