    That is the place I would like to go on vacation if I could go any place in the world. But I live 1200 miles from there.
    Thanks for the video.

    White light is strictly prohibited but also bright red light is also very annoying and can ruin dark adaptation. When the sky is clear and your eyes are dark adapted you don't need a light to walk around. The sky is so bright you can see where you're going

      Exactly! I walked around the whole time without any light once I got used to it

    Thank you.
    I have noticed that the campgrounds seemed to be booked through the summer.
    I am new at astrophotography and wondered if I would be able to still attempt to collect data there somehow.
    I live just under 3.5 hrs away.

      Yeah the campgrounds book up super quick. I’d recommend checking out Lyman Run State Park and see if you can stay there. It’s only 15 minutes from cherry springs. Either that or you can stay in the overnight lot and shoot

    Thank you for posting your video. I had reservations for the new moon of Sept 2022 and it rained the whole week. When was your visit? Its so important to talk about the date you are recording. Just like any scientific entry, all data needs to be known. I had to re think everything for the next months new moon. I had a very good visit to Cherry Springs Oct 2022.

      I was there in June and got lucky enough to have clear skies with low humidity. Cherry Springs has a website where they have the weather for the next 3 days so double check that before going. But like any astro adventure, you just hope for the best haha!

    Can we see the Milky Way with the naked eye? So if I brought my family and we are just looking up, what do we see? I’m trying to plan an overnight trip and you are very informative. Thank u

      Im wondering the same. My grandma has a cabin about an hour away in rural Tioga county. The sky is beautiful at night and I want to know if it's worth traveling here if I'm not taking pictures.

    • @stevensitarik8311
      @stevensitarik8311  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Sorry for the delay, but yes you can see it with your naked eye. Not to the level of detail I can see in my camera, but you will be able to clearly make out the Milky Way and see it stretch across the sky
