    I have to quibble on one point about making the picnic table. I suggest that you clamp the tabletop boards tightly together rather than spacing them apart. When the wood dries out they will shrink and the spaces will appear. The first table I made with spaces, after the wood dried you could drop a spoon between the boards.

    • @KingsFineWoodworking
      @KingsFineWoodworking  Před 2 měsíci +5

      Great point! If your wood has a higher moisture content you must butt the boards tight.
      Mine was kiln dried and came in at 8-10%, so mine will likely swell a bit to reach equilibrium.
      But it’s not uncommon to get wood from a big box store that’s 35% or higher. And those will shrink a lot when drying out.
      Thank you for bringing that up.

    You're absolutely correct about how these being great sellers. I bought some land in an eastern coastal state and had I been able to afford to build on the property, I know these would have been a sound foundation to begin a business because I talked to many local folks who were quite eager to give me contact information for how to contact them when the pieces were ready for sale. Adirondack chairs, complementing tables, picnic tables, porch swings, reclining chairs... all good sellers.

I may try when I retire to go to the local fairs, I saw a few guys selling things I didn't care but saw women buying which I never thought people actually would buy. Cutting boards was a mistake from my part and I ended up to give them away to family members, the wood was expensive plus using all the right things to make sure is food safe, but I see people buying cutting boards for half the price and less I had for sale on Etsy- basically cheaper than the wood I paid for to find out those boards comes from China and God knows how food safe they are but most people don't care.

    I bought the plans before I finished watching the video. It's March, so a good time to start selling these. But, as I watch the rest of it, I noticed some of your boards splitting when you put the screws in. What do you do about that?

    • @KingsFineWoodworking
      @KingsFineWoodworking  Před 2 měsíci

      It’s wood. There are going to be imperfections.
      But if the wood you are using is too dry and starts to split, drill a pilot hole first.
      Also if you are looking at some of the checks in the rocker for example, then those occurred because I built them for a video several years ago and never put a finish on them until this video.

    So if I buy these plans, do all of them come with full size templates?

    • @KingsFineWoodworking
      @KingsFineWoodworking  Před 2 měsíci

      Only the chairs. There are no templates for plans with straight boards. Only curved boards.
      It really wouldn’t make sense to have a template for a 2x6 table top piece for example.
      You could just measure a 2x6 and chop it to length on the miter saw. That might take 10-15 seconds.
      But it could take you 10 minutes to cut out a template with scissors then trace the shape on wood and cut it out.
      Therefore it only made sense to have templates for the chairs. Those are the only plans in this bundle with curves.

    • @KingsFineWoodworking
      @KingsFineWoodworking  Před měsícem

      Hi,
      They do not. I do have those available for all of the chairs, but that is an extra purchase.
      However if you have a CNC, I can swap the paper templates that do come with it, for the CNC files.
      The paper templates would be useless to you. You could just cut your own templates on the CNC , or better still, just cut the chair parts out directly.
      Anyhow, this isn’t a listed option on the website, so if you are interested, the thing to do is buy the ultimate package, then message me right away. And I’ll make the switch on the sale here, and send you the CNC files immediately.
