- Tony Hawk is no stranger to pain after three decades of professional skateboarding. But how will he and Sean Evans survive Paqui’s 2022 One Chip Challenge®? The rules of this competition are simple: Take a bite of a blazing Carolina Reaper and Scorpion Pepper-laced tortilla chip and see just how long you can last before reaching for that glass of milk. Watch the skate legend eat what he describes as “the remnants of a terrible house fire,” and see how long Sean can last at his fourth #OneChipChallenge rodeo. Expect blue tongues and a lot of tears.

Would you eat this chip?! 🔥🔥🔥
Yes absolutely always wanted to try it out
why would i ever do that man honestly 🤣
💯
Mine comes tomorrow. Not a big spice guy. Kinda nervous
I done it three times
Tony, calm as anything; "I see why this is a challenge..." What a legend.
Hahaha “I’m feeling a little flush”
Coming from a person that has felt more pain in a day than most have experienced in their lifetime though.
While Sean is falling apart in front of him.

I had this last week, it is no joke. He must have a pretty high heat tolerance.
First time I’ve seen someone be calmer than Sean 😂😂😂
He got payed well to do this I think
@@bagusbbx2785 David Blaine made it look easy and basically hosted that entire show what a great episode

Tony's composure is a testament to his success. Cool as a cucumber under pressure. Being able to control your emotions while under extreme duress like this is not natural. Impressive
🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
Skating vert and being competitive at skateboarding at such a young age def helped HAWK
@@derekjobin8944 Look at justin Bieber trying to diss lol
Yeah it's not that deep
Under normal pressure is one thing but being under pressure from a fking chip that make u feel like ur mouth on fire isn’t normal and has nth related to his success
Tony murdered that. By far this calmest 1 chip challenge ever!
Go watch The Pyro Pit Bull eat *25* of these same chips one after another, now he was calm considering what he just did lol
I bet he spit it out of camera lol
Bryan Danielson too, he made a jump flip. It was so random
Come on man, Tony killed this challenge! I feel like he put Sean out of his misery. Y'all are both crazy.
Well when you lead the lifestyle that he has led, you probably don't care much about pain anymore
He out-spiced the maestro! I've never seen the guest handle the spice better than Sean, haha
he survived a gorilla loop , heat food is nothing
Nice music on your page johnnie walker. Im a string musician in Memphis looking for work!
Zig zag
I love that Sean's coping mechanism at this point in his life is to try to interview someone lol. The best way his brain can handle the heat at this point is to refocus itself on another person. It's a very cool and interesting thing.
for real , I can picture south park making an episode about that lol
And Tony's reaction "what, are we doing a interview now???!!" was PRICELESS
@@datbaldboy I couldn't stop laughing
Best interviewer in the business, impeccable research.

They have to add edits to make it seem like Tony is actually struggling. Tony's a boss, editors. You can't fool me.

How is Tony so calm?? Sean was jumping right from the start 😆
all the times he’s fallen from his skateboard and fractured his bones made his pain tolerance high 😂😂😂 it helps
Sean also has done this before. it actually makes him more nervous haha.
He clearly spat it out, tongue was barely blue
Tony stopping him when Sean started asking questions “Are you doing an INTERVIEW right now?” I’m dead 💀🤣
Interviewing is Sean's coping mechanism
@@Jackson-im5qe yes 🤣

"Are we doing an interview right now?!" LOL Sean's default when he's trying to not think about the extreme heat.
Tony's comedic reaction to Sean pushing ahead with the interview style at 10:21 is hilarious. "This guy for real?" lol
Honestly, the last 2 minutes were actually my favorite. I would TOTALLY watch a pod or long form interview with Sean and guest just eating ice cream or an entrée together while just talking. Sean is a natural interviewer and knows how to ask well crafted and pertinent questions. It would be great.
It works because you had the hot ones in interview preceding it. Othwerwise it would just be a podcast.
Clearly Tony Hawk does very difficult, crazy things.. But it's almost unfair to him that he's such a legend that he makes everything look easy. Huge respect
Sean asked the exact question I had - Tony's pain tolerance has been hardened by 4 decades of regular excruciating injuries.
Dude handled it like a boss, we might have a new hot ones host! haha
Absolutely. A lot of tattoos artists say that skateboarders and hockey players always sit the best lol.
Question: Has Wayne (The Great One) Gretzky been on Hot Ones? If not the hero needs to come back one more time.
"Are doing an interview right now???"
I'd really like to hear Tony Hawk and Brandon Novak talk about pain and injuries - because I'm sure they have both felt it skateboarding and Novak is sober but his life is defined by opioids.
Sean going into 'interview mode' in order to cope is hilarious and one of the best things ever. 🤣
The look tony gave him😂
Everytime I see something of Tony Hawk, and just hearing what he has done or gone through, I am mesmerized. Hes been my hero since high school. And he handled this Chip like the legend he is.
As an hispanic, the tummy pains were way more worse than the spice, the spice only lasted 5 mins. The stomach pain lasted for 30 mins and it was unbearable.

It just feels weird to watch
Yeah, you know he's literally tried more $picy $hit than most sane humans have...and to see him battle through it lets you know that chip ain't no chump.
He suffers just as much as his guests do. In the wings episodes they just prefer to show the guests reactions over his since we see Sean every episode anyways.

I knew about skateboarding but it was the Tony Hawk games that got me really interested in skating and from there started learning of more pro skaters including Rodney Mullen who is my all time favorite but I might not have heard of him if it wasn't for the Birdman. He helped put skateboarding on the map and haters just got jealous and started calling him a sell-out.
I love you too Sam.
lol Tony nonchalantly saying "I'm feeling a little flush" is everything.
I did this challenge with a friend last week. We had no idea there was even a five minute limit on when you could drink milk. We had our friend run to the groceries to get some and he was gone for about ten minutes while we suffered physical and mental anguish
Tony Hawk is such a beast. Sitting there completely unaffected yet dying inside.
Tony hawk is a national treasure. Had mad money since he was 17. Still seems down to earth. And the king of the skateboard
He inspired the whole generation of people to try skateboarding etc. Great human.
I have friends that know Tony and I have met him a couple times. He made really good money as a kid in the 80's, but he had a lot of lean years in the 90's. Most of the 90's. It wasn't until the Pro Skater game came out and he did the 900 in the XGames that he started making a lot of money again. He deserves everything he gets because he really is the ambassador for skateboarding.
Not to mention he is one of the biggest names in charities and charitable donations, between the skatepark foundation and Make a Wish foundation he donates so much and helps so many, he’s a simple and loving person.
@@marvinshenk my brother was friends with his neighbor growing up in the early 90s. he was on the top of a hill in a cul de sac like 5 min from a ymca skatepark he would skate at all the time. maybe he wasnt making much at the time but he lived in a very nice area so im sure he was doing just fine.
@@joshbrucks Tony was good with his money in the 80's which afforded him that house, but after a few down years in the 90's and after having to support a new family, trust me, he was not living the high life. At one point he was actually trying to get video editing gigs to get by. He was used to making $200k per year, then he was making $30k per year almost overnight.
Seeing Sean this affected by the chip is scary knowing his experience with super spicy food.
Literally. I really expected Tony to be the one not so composed by it's the exact opposite 🙃

I tried it and I actually don’t think the spice wasn’t THAT bad. It definitely hurt but it wasn’t terrible. What was bad was an hour after me and my two friends all had the most terrible stomach pain we have ever had. It felt like my stomach was gonna explode and we all vomited.

I’m so impressed with how well Tony handled it!!!
shows how pro tony really is, being able to compartmentalise pain so you don't get overwhelmed at the moment is an ability that can be acquired only through experience and hard work
You’re cringe
A broken femur is one of the most painful injuries a person can endure. Not to mention all the rehab.
I did this challenge to raise money for a kitty cat that had a broken leg and needed surgery. I was at a bar in front of about 20 people. It was super hot but i didnt drink anything 40 minutes. Its all mind over matter at that point. If you dont mind, it doesnt matter. AND i raised about $50 for the poor kitty! If you do it for a reason other than yourself it helps because you are more willing to endure the pain.
You are overthinking it my guy
And the experience of a lot of pain
I find this funny. Chili Klaus starts snapping his fingers to deal with the heat. Sean just starts interviewing to deal with the heat xD
I saw a fairly recent clip of Tony Hawk skating a backyard pool. He slammed and broke his finger so that it was pointing the wrong way. He just got up and said something like, alright I guess my session is over for today, I better go to the E.R. He said it like it was nothing.

Tony is a legend in everything he does he's a true BADASS
This was epic and pure/raw! TH: "I'm feeling a little flush" while Sean is losing it. So nice to see someone can be more calm and collected than the host. And Sean's attempt at an interview question makes me wonder if he actually planned to interview or of some Id subconscious reflex kicked in while his higher order got knocked out by the chip. I loved this episode.
It's probably a Pavalovian response for him now...eat something spicy and his brain churns out quality interview questions, lol!
He also noticed how well TH was taking the Chip. First thought i had was how is he doing this when Sean cried after a few secs. Anyone wouldve asked that tbf :D
