This was absolutely amazing to hear this beautiful old tune again. It's the first time I have actually seen the video of if. It brings back such lovely, sweet memories of Mum and Dad. ❤️🙏🏻💝🤔👍🎧🎤

In 1972, this song was the most requested song on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's afternoon request show 'Yours for the Asking' in country Western Australia. The album of the same name is just wonderful (Loved Quentin's E Flat Boogie and Just a Closer Walk with Thee).

I have fond memories of the Mom and Dads records as a kid when I first started being interested in vintage big band recordings. This group represents what the earliest dance bands in the 1910's might have sounded like, and the music they play is what evolved later into Miller, the Dorseys, Lawrence Welk, Guy Lombardo, and the other great big bands. The personnel of the group are Doris Crowe (piano), Les Welch (accordion), Quint Ratliff (sax), and Harold Hendren (drums).

I remember seeing The Moms and Dads records in the record stores when I was a kid looking for Peter Frampton and Elton John and Queen records but I never paid too much attention to that section of the record store. Fast forward 45 years and here we are. This is the first Moms and Dads song I've ever heard. I'll be back for more ... even though they make Lawrence Welk and Myron Floren look really cool. But seriously, this will outlast anybody else.

THIS SONG was on the radio in Australia in the 1970,s and it was played on a station that played pop and modern music of the day.
I loved it just as i loved listening to jimi hendrix and Creadence clearwater at the time.
Music like this was from the post WW2 war and never sounds old.
What a great sound and song.
I wonder what type of cars these folks had on the day of this recording, Packards, Studebakers, Adsels, or 409 impalas.

Found a Moms and Dads vinyl at the thrift store today. Never heard of them, but the album cover was intriguing enough for me to buy it. I am not disappointed, they're exactly what I hoped they'd be. Wish there were more videos of them playing, but I'm glad there's at least this one.

My mother had the Rangers Waltz album. Not sure where it got to, but when she died, it should have come to me, along with a couple of her Mrs Mills albums (I like a lot of that uncomplicated stuff), but never saw it. I sure hope whoever got those albums appreciated them.

My Mother in-law came home one day with a new album, and said, You'll like this it has an accordion player, they are the Mom's and Dads." Never having heard of them, I said you mean the Mamas, and the Papas? She goes , "No the Mom's and Dads." Well she was right, the Mamas and the Pappas never sounded like this. In time to come I learned The Rangers Waltz on the accordion.

This made it to No 2 here in Australia in 1971 but didn't even make it into the top 100 in the US - it sounds rather like our "bush music" so perhaps that's why it was popular hdre.

I have their album this is song is on, it's one of the prettiest waltzes I've heard. My accordion teacher gave me the music for one of my lessons, and I mastered it well enough to play along with the record with them. Now If I could just learn some of their other pieces as well. :-)

I went to Goodwill and found a bunch of new old records. I think someone died and someone cleaned out their record collection and gave it all to Goodwill. Several records were from the "Moms and Dads" , so I looked them up on CZcams to see what they sounded like. and I think I will return tomorrow on Wednesday on senior day to get them!!!
