Changing color is easier if you don’t ink up the pen cartridge or converter, but use it like a dip pen (they hold a surprising amount of ink in the nib). Great video, lots of new angles to think about. Thanks!
I have a converter not using it like a dip pen is a great idea!! Thank you!!
I switched to Derwent Inktense pencils and loved how "messy" I can be with it and how nice it can look after you activate it. Ink is like a watercolor vacation.
watercolor vacation is the perfect way to describe it
@dannydrwing indeed, keep exploring, sir. I am painting watercolor backgrounds and inktense foregrounds with some success.
Oh that’s sounds awesome!
I use the inktense pencils too….I find them fun and easier to control than water colours…and especially good on not great paper.
Definitely , a real artist can create a masterpiece from nothing ✨ .
Truth
Very true
found you through shorts and was pleasantly surprised to see a longer form vid on my feed :) love this experimental vibe, and just comparing materials in general. looking forward to more!
Glad you liked it! And glad you liked the longer form stuff! :)
Check out Birmingham Pens for great ink colors and pens. They have sales that makes them affordable. I like how you teach.
This reminds me of the line of coloring books called Magic Painting Books. They have the traditional black outlines, but there's also water soluble color printed on, that you activate with a paintbrush and clear water.
Oh woah, that sounds awesome
@@dannydrwing I think I'm actually remembering a much simpler version than I'm seeing online. It had lines of color printed beside the classic coloring book lines, and the resulting paint was pretty weak. But the new versions look pretty great, from the online photos.
Really cool idea nonetheless!
Santa left me one every year as a child, I felt like a creative genius!:)
Using a dip pen instead of a fountain pen to frequently swap inks would probably be much more efficient with the least amount of waste and contamination
Yes! I’ve since seen that a dip pen is way better for this. Might have to try it at some point.
Nooo don't throw ur paint 😢
I'm a changed person
Exploring new territory ig 😂😢
Lol. That's what i like about watercolor; it does the work for you. 🎉 Non waterproof ink is very cool though. Can make impressive skies.
True, super fun!
Adding this skill to the list of things I wish I could do 😂 great job! It’s insane seeing you draw/paint a perfect nose as easily as I would drive to work lol
Definitely takes practice 😂
I'm for sure one of those subscribers 😂 cuz I'm just starting and I love watercolours. Your tips are a Great help, thanks a lot! I know I'm learning from a really amazing artist ( just look at how those drawings looked 👏).
Thanks for subbing! Glad you’re liking the videos! :)
Keep up the good work dude!
I use less than 16 colors in total and for most paintings it's much more limited. If you're getting like 48 color sets that's wayyyy too much.
You’ve inspired me to experiment a bit more with my inks….thanks 😊
Have fun!
I've been using speedball ink for ink wash it's really easy to do lanscapes with.
Oh nice!
It reminds me of watercolor pencils, you even tried those? :) Watercolor graphite pencils do also excist.
Is this water or alcohol based ink? I've seen multicolored water based inkwells in craft stores
I’m almost positive that it’s water based
@@dannydrwing thanks
Hey! Quick question. Where do you reccomend to find refrences for painting landscapes, nature, etc?
Hm I take a lot of my own pictures and scroll through my camera roll, but also Pinterest is a great option (obviously not for selling artwork, just for practice)
I’m already a subscriber to Skillshare, but I couldn’t find you listed on it. Are you listed under a different name?
I don’t have any courses on skillshare, they just sponsored this video!
Thank you for the answer. 👍🏻@@dannydrwing
Pretty neat.
What ink are you using?
It’s from Diamine! Link is in the description
👍🏻 Beautiful to watch. And inspiring .. although i don't have any talent myself, to plug the inspiration into. I'll just settle for watching in awe. Thanks for sharing!
digital better at capturing it
Wdym?
Welp, I subscribed so I could learn watercolor... Not mad. But also unsubscribing. Sorry.
Good luck on your journey✌️
Same :/
I still do watercolor… 🫥
nooo you got clickbaited
