  • Sir David Attenborough today joined staff at ZSL London Zoo to mark the official renaming of a Komodo dragon enclosure in his honour.
ZSL London Zoo’s Komodo dragon enclosure was renamed ‘The Attenborough Komodo Dragon House’ at an official ceremony in celebration of Sir David Attenborough’s 90th birthday.
Sir David met members of ZSL staff as he toured some of the zoo's latest enclosures, coming face to face with orb-weaver spiders and Asian lions. Watch the video to hear from the man himself about his links with ZSL London Zoo and Komodo dragons, and how he feels the organisation has changed over the years.

My personal favorite of all the monitor lizards! To say that Sir David Attenborough has been an advocate for conservation would be an understatement, to say he's made a difference would be an understatement, and to say his work has made helped save and bring about attention to the plight of countless species including the fierce but remarkably beautiful Komodo Dragon would be a tremendous understatement, he is a legend in every sense of the word!

@@LukeN909 nice i love zoos, people should open their eyes and get over the fact that there are plenty of good zoos, if only there was a way to delete thd bad ones from existence.

Good credited zoos do more for conservation than any of us will do in 10 lifetimes, zoos serve as embassadors for the animals, a visit to a zoo, seeying the animals right there in front of you surpasses any emotion you can get from a documentary, of wichbkids just dont have the patience to sit through.
I worked i zoos that treat their animals better than most hospitals treat their patients, I've seen freacking elephants recieve acupuncture right in front of me.
Plus most zoologists even famous ones like Sir David Attenburough and Jane Goodall are pro zoos. Even national Geographic supports good zoos by having several programs and documentary about said zoos

@@danielstevens58 jane goodall is pro zoos as well, as she once said when talking about zoo habitats, that if she was a chimp she would ptobably prefer the habitat instead of the wild

@@danielstevens58 do you have any proof of that, im asking because im doing a College essay on the bennefits that Good credited zoos have on conservation, education, and overall animal wellfare
