    Just found out about a business meeting tomorrow morning that I need a suit for. I just moved to this city, and had my suits in suit bags, “folded neatly” in the back of my car. I took them out and holy hell were they wrinkled. This helped me a ton. They aren’t perfect, but no one will notice. And for now, that’s good enough. Thanks for the vid.

    • @FallLineJP
      @FallLineJP Před 3 lety +2

      Yeah, suit bags are the worst.. I've taken to rolling suit jackets and pants and putting them in the suitcase - that works great.

    For anyone else living in a small apartment, you can get ironing boards that are much smaller/shorter and have tiny legs so you can set them on a table, and they have a hook so you can hang it up in your closet with your jackets easily, takes no room. A steamer is still handy to have but there are times when you need a proper iron

    So questuon to anyone who can answer. Ive been steaming one suit every day for the last two weeks because i was waiting for my other suits to be hemmef. The constant steaming created little bubbles that showed up on the chest of the blazer closer to the arm. Was that because i was over steaming? Is that normal? Was it just the specific material of that blazer? How can i avoid it if i need to do it again?

    If you buy your suit from mens wearhouse, they will press your suit free for as long as you own the suit. So take your suits in on rotation, get them pressed for a few months. And then take them to the cleaner periodically.
    If you want to make this process easy, make a goal to own 14 suits. You’ll wear one suit twice a month. You get it repressed maybe every 2-3 months. And cleaned maybe twice a year. Especially, if you take care of your suits.

    Hi Antonio,
    Great video! I'm always afraid of ironing my suits, because I don't want to mess them up, thanks for the tips.
    I was wondering if you could give me your opinion on something;
    I'm in my mid 20s and ever since sophomore year of high school I have always tried to be well dressed.
    Thanks to your channel I've been getting more and more advanced. Particularly, you've greatly helped me to focus on "nailing the fit."
    Since high school I've loved 1930s-40s fashion so I blend this with my modern fit attire by getting custom tailored suits with a vintage flair (double breasted or 3 buttons etc...). I also wear jeans/chinos and collared shirts very often (this is the most casual I will go).
    However, some of my friends and many of my family think I dress like "an old man," and they say "why don't you dress in a tee-shirt instead of a suit," or they say "dress more your age," you're to "formal."
    Any thoughts on how to politely respond to when they say these things? I already say, "I'm comfortable dressed like this," but they still say I'm "stuffy."
    Thanks for answering if you have the time.
    - Edward

    i live in a very saft water zone, i have noticed even after years i dont have any build up of calcium on the kettle element a slight scaling thats it and its an old kettle, now i have a steamer at home and you mentioned distilled water, if i have no buildup of calcium and magnesium salts on the kettle do you think it will still be vital to use distilled water as thats an extra hassle that to be honest if not needed i have other things to deal with, i can see the water issue in some places, any thoughts as i also cannot effort a new steamer, i dont steam clothes that often only when i need to, but its the steamers life that now concerns me. anyway you will domesticate us males somehow eh. keep up the work my lady has said, so she seems to approve, so i cant moan at being domesticated a bit

    I love to enjoy the pleasure of a conversation of a woman and always love to dress to impress! Since my family is odd in size being i only appear like my dad in bone structure yet have the features like my mom only in a guy version (my sisters are the opposite). I struggle to find shirts that fit properly or are even in stock because of my size. I also don't really have the money but i like to spend 100 or so every few months to update my clothes. I like to wear nicer clothes unless im knowing im doing yard work but to find the nice cloths im not sure how they work on me? I struggle to find nice jeans that have the lenght i need for the nicer shoes but they usually have a too big of waist thus im wearing a belt having them strunched up. i hide it with longer shirts but it just doesnt really help me witht the ladies. I have no lack of drive to speak to the ladies but i just feel im not having the apeal conection via the looks and clothes.. Is there any way you can help!! (FYI im not specific to one field of work. Shakim Riley my best recommendation would be to go on eBay and search for brands like Brooks Brothers, or Hickey Freeman. There will be a wide variety of used garments for around 100-300 dollars. Just be sure to understand measurements, most notably the length of the jacket, the sleeve length, and the shoulder measurements. Pants can be altered in the waist and hemmed, and is relatively cheap to do

    • @flickthebean2124
      @flickthebean2124 Před 7 lety

      SuitSupply $250/$300 will do for a starter. Hell my first suits were like 120/140 at most and from H&M/ other cheap stores.
      If you don't act like a idiot they will last you a year or two, maybe more depending on how much you wear it.
      Don't let the wannabes here convince you only a $2000 suit will look good, 9/10 people won't even notice the difference.

      Shakim Riley Uniqlo, their new 110 wool suit is awesome, good quality for the price and also well fitted.

      I'm going to suggest ebay as well. I've purchased several very good quality used suits on ebay. I didn't go with the Brooks Brothers or anything like that though. I went with Kenneth Cole and Ralph Lauren. I then had them tailored if needed. BEFORE you decide to shop anywhere, especially when used, make sure you go some place to get your exact measurements. This will help you as you shop ebay.
      The same with dress shoes. I've purchased shoes that were $350 new for less than $100 used. I'm talking gently used nice shoes.
      I'm feeling good when I go out and get several compliments on my clothes. No one no they were previously owned other than me.
      It's great to read about a young man trying to look his best. I wish tried when I was 17! Good luck.

    I'd rather prefer letting my suits at cleaning centers. These things just take too much time :)).

    Buying a steamer will cost me more bucks, so I'll give my suit to a dry cleaner guy near my house.

      indeed, yet just some days when no ones looking ill lounge round in my dragon silk kimono, its great on days when no one will visit, i guess it looks smart anyway black with a silk embroidered dragon with red belt tie, not what i would wear in public, very easy, its great to also kick back in style, though its an art wearing jeans and t-shirts to do manual work and not look like a builder from hell with the style of an orangutan, but it can still be done,

      Looks are like tacos. Every once and awhile you need a bad taco to remind you how good good tacos really are.
