    Thanks for the video. Thinking of doing a restoration on my old PS3. It literally sounds like a jet engine but I am going to replace the thermal paste, raise the console slightly, install an SDD and a new fan and see if that helps. What tools would you recommend for disassemble etc?

    • @cheezyfriez12
      @cheezyfriez12 Před rokem +1

      For dissasembly, you will need a prying tool of some sort, a T8 screwdriver, a size 1 and size 00 Phillips head screwdriver, some kind of cleaning brush to get dust out of the crevices, and about 90 to 120 minutes of patience. I just did mine yesterday, cecha01 60gb, and it is WAY quieter. The improvement is quite major compared to what it sounded like before. Honestly, you probably don't need the fan. The ssd doesn't make a big difference on ps3 either.

    Is ps3 2500a hot model and its cpu is like fat cpu or not? I recently bought a ps3 slim model 2500, the temperature of the console reaches 77 degrees with a fan speed of 40, but I have had it for about a month and sometimes I played with it for up to 10 hours without any problems. Will there be any problems later? And the last question, how are the ps3 2500a? Like Fat, they don't have a yellow light problem? Sorry for the many questions, please help me by answering them
    More detailed information: when the console has not been turned on for at least 5 hours and when you turn it on, the temperature is sometimes 34 and sometimes 40 degrees with a fan speed of 20 and in 5 minutes the temperature reaches 60 to 67 (cpu 67 rsx 64) and If you stay in the menu like this, the temperature reaches 72 and sometimes 75, and when you enter the game and play the game "Battlefield 4", the temperature reaches 76-77 and the fan 40, when the fan is 40, reduce the temperature from 77 to 72-73 gives and never goes higher

    Hi, can you help me, please ?
    I have a PS3 Slim Mod. CECH2504A which is equipped with:
    - CPU CXD2992GB
    - RSX CXD5300A1GB
    Firmware: 4.89 CEX
    Software mod.:
    - HEN 3.1.1
    - webMAN MOD [4.82] v1.47.09
    After a couple of minutes that the console is turned on:
    CPU: 65°C - RSX: 67°C - FAN: 25%
    Then the fan speeds up and after a time that varies each time between 5/10' and 30':
    CPU: 81°C - RSX: 44°C - FAN: 69%
    Sometimes it stays like this and I can play, other times the CPU increases to 83/84°C, then the message to turn off the console appears and if I don't do it, a double beep sounds and it turns off on its own.
    Well now my questions:
    1) Do you recommend doing the delid?
    2) I only tried for a few moments to do as you say in your video, using a cutter blade, but I think it is too thick; Should I use a razor blade then?
    3) Isn't it necessary to use a heat gun to soften the surroundings?
    4) I purchased the MX-4 thermal paste, can I also use it inside the processors?
    5) To reassemble the two "cover" parts of the two processors, what do you use? Silicone, glue, or what else?
    Thank you for your patience, if you have read all this, and I hope you want to answer me !
    bye
    Steve.

      @ReMARKCHANNEL  Před 8 měsíci

      Hello. I used razor blade but please be very careful and patient! Second, no force! Work on edges, don’t go deeper. Mx4 will work. Heat will help you to make the glue softer and a little bit easier to cut. I didn’t apply any glue, but you can try something thermal resistant.

      well, i already replaced the thermal paste but my old FAT after this passage is turned on once time, fan cooler speed up max level, then turned off and now Rel Light is permanent and i can't turn it on no more (if i press Eject button i feel 3 beep and . . . nothing.
      In my PS£ slim i already replaced the thermal paste, but the problem it stays again.
      now i'm thinking to make reballing of BGA CPU by a collegue in electronics company corporation where I am employed, I learned that we have reballing machinery and a technician specialized in BGA.
      Stay tuned 'cause in January, once the reballing has been carried out, I will be able to say if everything is fine (I hope).

    Why did they make PS3's to where they would overheat to begin with? Is it just to make money? Because I never knew of any system before PS3 to overheat. It's also absurd to pay all this money on a console where you have to replace a paste. That's insane. If we are paying hundreds of dollars on a console, replacing a paste shouldn't even be a thing.
