  • Last season, we were very fortunate to welcome Sami Jo and several of her teammates from the Toronto Furies of the CWHL to help with our Girls Skills program, and Sami herself graciously spent some time with our goalies.
In this video, she showcases not only excellent technical form in her skating movements, but also the smoothness and poise that all movement should have in practise situations. This is a sure sign of a professional goalie: no movement is ever rushed or botched; everything is smooth, exact, and unhurried.
Video excerpted from McGuire Goaltending (CZcams: mghd1); reposted and edited here for the purposes of education and criticism.

I am not saying she is displaying "bad" movement. She is obviously very talented. And as I read my response again, I wish to correct myself. It is not far from "textbook", but there are some areas of improvement. She could be more efficient. Here's what I see: 1) Her hands move, (or swing), too much during rotation. 2) In the second drill, she is late looking to where she is going next, (to the next location in the movement drill).
    Just my opinion.
    Sorry for the confusion.

I'm sorry, but this is far from "textbook" movement.
