This game had one of the best voice acting ever in a video-game.
I am listening them again 6 years passed this and mass effect 2 were perfect, and now look at Andromeda. What the hell happened to you Bioware.

@@anthonymurano4775 You can find a Qunari who was killed by him in the Eluvian crossway in Inquisition. Next to the corpse lies a diary which only says "Enchantment!" over and over again. Legends never die it seems

Yes, her attitude may take some getting used to, but she's not "bad" more "brutally cynical and practical", of course, as my warden tries to help everyone, she usually is the one to protest. She is also quite humorous at times. Toward the end of the game, we were friends.
EdSkywalker I see what you mean, but Morrigan could have been so much worse. Claudia Black salvaged the character amazingly.
You have to have Morrigan and Alistair in your party playing this for the awesome dialogue and voice acting between them

Dragon Age Origins is one of the best examples of how good Voice Acting can be. However, lets not forget about those people working within the soundstudio.
A Voice Actor is only half as good without proper directing, soundmixing and what so ever. :)
Dragon Age and Mass Effect both do excellent jobs. Have to say the Fallout games do it good too. Liam Neeson as the voice of your dad in FO 3? Heck yes lol

Kort Exx Yes I have played Dark Souls and no they're not as memorable as characters in say Mass Effect for ex. You two are wrong. Souls has never had anybody that's as recognizable as Garrus, Commander Shepard, Morrigan, Zevran, and other characters I could name. For ex, someone like Big Hat Logan is obviously not going to be as known as Varric from Dragon Age. I think you two are the ones who aren't paying attention

I probably replayed Origins a few too many times because of Tim Curry's excellent villain voice-over. Type casting at it's finest.

DaGreatBeRich actually I use no mods for this game. I don't feel the need to, unlike with Skyrim. I play the gog version od the game with all dlc. And that is what I recommend for you to do. Best experience - "Just stock, no mods".
I never like mods although I always like using sweet fx. The other guys said they used mods, just curious.

That's because bioware actually modeled a lot of the characters after their voice actors. That's why so many of them had such a drastic change from their concept art.

And Lanya (Zathrian's First) is another exception to that as well, seeing as Kimberly Brooks is also a Black woman

WOW, they are amazing! Jon Curry plays Zevran here and the Inquisitor in DAI, you can't tell AT ALL!! Also, Mark Hildreth as the Warden and Sten? These people are so impressive.

Kate Mulgrew voices Flemeth? That is amazing! Makes sense since she can do Red's voice perfectly in OITNB.
And she's in the game for about 5 minutes. Also the Tuvok guy gets a very small part.
Robin Sachs - voice in ME2;3 , didn't realise he was also in DA:O. Great actor and Voice - was a great campaign to recognise him when he passed away. Would be amazing if BioWare could insert any left over clippings of him into the next game.
He also voiced Murdoch, the leader of the town's guard in Redcliffe

Sadly Geraldine Blecker, the actress who voiced Shale, died December 2021. Great performance and defenetly one of the most iconic character in DA series! I remember how curious I was when I found out that the golem was voiced by an actress... May she rest in peace

The voice actors can either make or break a game. DA:O was a great game due to many factors, but one of the most important were the VA's. It is good to see the faces behind the characters that we loved and hated. They made the game come to life. Some of the voices I recognized, some of them I didn't. I was genuinely surprised by some of the talents identities. Thank you for illuminating the cast.

I completely agree! I never knew but when I saw her face next to Flemeth, "OMGosh! Makes total sense!" I recognized Tuvok as the Dalish Leader, and Tim Curry tho. OH and the same with Claudia Black as Morrigan, I knew I recognized her voice. Love Claudia from Farscape

I never realized it was Kate Mulgrew who voiced Flemmeth until Dragon Age 2.
she does it in all 3 games actually as Flemeth is in DAI as well. I think Bioware prefer to use the same actors for characters if they show up again in future games although they haven't always been able to do it.

Yeah I know she was in all 3. But I didn't realize until I played the second one.
I also hope it wasn't just me, but Wynne totally calmed me down at the camp with her voice, talking to me about being gay with Zevran after I just finished like 2 hours of being in the deep roads and wanting to shoot myself in the face multiple times.
Claudia Black's VA work for Morrigan is the reason I fell in love with her every playthrough. It was epic!

He also does Zaeed, one of my favorites from Mass Effect 2 and 3. Supposedly Citadel DLC for ME3 was dedicated to him, as he died shortly after finishing his lines for the game.
