Manual seat adjustment is a big plus. Less weight, less complexity, less likely to ever fail.
No its just cost cutting, and for that reason its a plus…
electric seats just take too long. I prefer to pull a lever and be done with it.
Electric seats are much better, and i’ll tell you why… you can adjust them to a fine level, to a millimeter. The manual ones you have to click into place and on the recline you cant always get that perfect posistion.
Only plus side of electric is key fob and button based memory for different drivers. Lots of weight. I have them.
I rather the manual seats but at this price you gotta ask yourself... what are you really paying nearly $60k for?
I don't want to give too much hate, but most of the things described in this video are absolutely unnecessary and unimportant. Yes, engine noise, both in the cabin and from the exhausts, is not something anyone with a v6 car wants to skimp on, and yes, bad brakes are an issue, but we have a few things to think about. First of all, things like the control of the mirrors and the seat, or the wrong placement of the drink holders is an absolutely unnecessary thing to deal with. Yes, this sports car may lack a bit of sportiness, but it still doesn't need excessive luxury. You also have to learn to live with the size of the suitcase. That the appearance is a bit shabby is an individual matter and, moreover, when driving you will see the inside of the car, not the outside. So far, all generations of the Z series have been tunned, so even this car with its v6 engine will be a rarity. Then there will be no more people who hate it, maybe only those who would take it as a classic and not as a sports car. In short, if you just want to look at a car, buy a 100-year-old veteran that doesn't drive much anyway and drink coffee with it in the garage. A video full of unsavory rants failed to deter the purchase, and quite possibly amused that the 15th reason was the brand of the car (which also made no sense). Buy this car, tune It, and enjoy it. And above all, be glad that we still have combustion engines at all, because the design of the new Z is eerily close to electric cars.
yeah it's funny reading all the hate videos I think the hate is really just the price point, 10k less and people wouldn't complain. Z's have always been a modders dream, and the modds i seen have been nice - everything's working as intended :) - kinda glad nobody really has my car right now xD
But with that price you could get a Toyota Supra and Honda Civic and has more tech and features
@@vincentlarry8440 Well, yes, you could, but in this moment comes truth, if you really love Z's. If you are a nissan fan, you will not take a Honda or Toyota. It's just what design you want (or if you want 4 pistons or 6 pistons, and if you want inline or V engine).
Well stated mate.
I put this video on mute and it was still too loud.
Hahaha!
The stick on black roof is shabby from Nissan. I’m glad he pointed that out.
I've had a 370z for 7 years now and it's incredible to see how similar my car (that is actually now 10 years old) is to the new z. It's like the interior has been slightly changed to included updated gauge and infotainment console, the outside has been simply reskinned, and they added a turbo.
The Z is showing it's age already. I wouldn't sell my 370z to upgrade to this for the price they are asking. Thanks for the content!
Thanks for watching!
Your 370 ain't the new Z! They may have similarities but the Z is much better.
@@ytsux9259 So you are the expert are you? 😂 Righto
the new z is basically just a 370z with a vr30 engine. A lot of parts were reused. I have a 370z as well.
@@ytsux9259 you did no research on the new Z, you are wrrooooonnnggggg
I believe the stitches defects could possibly be on your car but not only your car. But the suspension issues I see a lot and the tires I hear suck too. What really surprised me is the black two tone is a wrap like wtf is that about! Happy I seen your video and thank you.
Glad it was informative. Thanks for watching!
When a person just looking views on you tube and knows nothing about sports car.
Got it so new suspension, break pads, removing the fake exhaust speaker sound, new exhaust, and LOTS of anime decals.
I'm trying to get one in black but they aren't selling any in the 150 miles/6 dealer ships I've asked about where I'm at.
So many "manager floor models that aren't for sale"
Reason 2, the 280ZX Turbo would sit down on the back wheels when you floor it. As a teenager, it was very fun when the front of the car would lift up because I was going “So Fast”.
I'm surprised the roof has a sticker. I bet it does not have a spare tire. They look like a old 350Z with a 240Z body kit to me.
No spare tire either mate 😂
You forgot to mention the very shart doors ends that rip through shirts and skin 😅. Seems to me it is the same as the 370z . Which is really bad for first hand owners, but really good for second hand owners since you got z1 motorsport to shop for upgrades (suspension, brake system, clutch, probably master and slave cylinder as well 😂)
🤣🤣🤣
I was so excited for the new Z, I think many people were, but when it came out performing like a soft gt cruiser, with a ridiculous price tag, majorly bummed. I'm surprised anybody's even buying them with so many other options.
I haven't seen a single one on the road!!
No one is buying them. I'm in DFW area, still have not seen a single one, or heard anyone even mention them.
Thanks for the honesty! I went from a pre owned 04 350z to a new 09 370z. The wait for this is honestly 😢 Hopefully next full redesign they’ll have R&D $$$
Take a Peugeot RCZ anyday thankyou for your honesty looks like other reviews are fake sold out
Im impressed with your honestly the suspension issue well that can be fixed but the break issue id be making nissan pay for that
Yeah after fighting a bit I got it covered under warranty.
That’s good news
The suspension can only be fixed so much, you can replace the springs but what if the linkages are crap?
Are the linkages even the same as the 370z I wonder?
Is it a fully independent suspension?
Is it double wishbone?
I mean what are we dealing with in this lemon? Lol
It's brake, not "break".
I can't believe it's a nissan, reason 15 saved me $50k, thank you man.
Love this video 😂
Thanks Brother! 💛
the price for me is the real reason it’s shitty dealers are marking them up like no other 😂
The mirrors fold?? I gotta try mine
A black vinyl sticker not even placed well on the roof. On the Nismo, the extended wheel arches are stickers as well!! Whereas on the competition like the M2 it is actual widened body of the car.
Good rage review… funny stuff
Thanks mate!
thank you for this, Im definitively keeping my 350z 💀
Keep it alive and nice man, you are sitting in a gem!
Bro I've had a 370z for 8 years then they came out with this trash...and they had like 13 years to design this junk
57k for sport model here in Maryland. Crazy !!!!!
Nice recap. I was already hyped on this car until I realized the sport version does not get the comfort package. Both versions should also have vented seats. Oh and it’s Sept 2023 - I have yet to see any Z’s on the road. I read Nissan having paint issues, so big delay in production.
loving the sport personally, hoping to change that in my area - people can't help be look and be wow'd shit's lovely lol, didnt even see heads turn for the porche's that run around. definitely looks better in person - can't wait to drive it tomorrow lol
I’m more interested in the review of this open cylinder head designed block & it’s going to have the same issues that plagued the infinity red coupe that shares it
No jittering mirrors with mine or issues with panel alignment or brakes. Everything else pretty much on the money. Still love it.
Also me seeing you in this car at lamington national park 👀
Haha that’s a good spotto! Was a nice trip up there. There’s some nice fun little roads.
All things nobody that buys a Nissan would complain about.
🧢
But then the vid would be boring... can we see how the roof holds up against a flame thrower?
@@Powk-mz1cpid like to see ANY roof that holds up against a flamethrower 🤡
I bought a 2019 370z sport pkg with the 6MT new for a little over $33K and have spent a few thousand in intake, exhaust mods and a dyno tune. My car is a good 300lbs lighter than the new Z and puts out nearly as much peak crankshaft horsepower, 387 hp. My car is all-black and has been polished and coated, so that it turns heads and gets compliments. I wouldn't trade it for the new Z, even at the MSRP.
Same side driving steering as urs where r u from???
Nisan Z had the same problem yeas ago, One carry on luggage would not fit in the trunk.
As a car enthusiast who wants to upgrade from a Rogue after I graduate college, into my first (working) enthusiast car, I think it's a lofty goal to buy one of these but not impossible nor necessarily bad. These issues are either things I'm already used to from my Rogue or nonissues for me, like the manual seat adjustment. That being said, if I already owned a 370z I would probably not "upgrade", especially at these price points. And tbh, I might as well keep the 370z in mind given how rare these cars are to actually find at your dealer. It's been nearly a year now I think and they still don't seem to have been made in particularly great quantities. And obviously, little has been done by most manufacturers to crack down on parasitic dealerships.
It's definitely amazing how poor the build quality can be on a $50,000 car, manufacturers can't keep using COVID as an excuse for supply chain issues.
most of these seem like non issues - and the z is a enthusiasts dream - excited to see more fun mods and less drag mods being posted. Seems like the content for the Z's has died off Q4 2023
This is a funny commentary. If this is all that is bad with the Z, then I'll take two.
Own 2024 Z Performance 6MT - while 'some' of the comments are true, overall the new Z is a pleasure to drive - most car owners in USA don't drive this on a race track every day - they drive and enjoy their Z as a daily driver - 2 big thumbs UP for the new Z - the PROs far outweigh the CONs - that's reality. I really like the suspension - for daily use, it is very comfortable and does not beat you up on bumpy roads. The power is impressive - handling is superb - high quality feel overall - very substantial, tight, and again, the suspension is just right in my opinion of driving many many years. The new Z is 150% FUN, Inc.
Bottom line: at a price point of mid 50's, there is NO COMPETITION to the new Z - the dupedra is not a competitor - if you want to create a list of all the inadequacies of the dupedra, I will guarantee you it will be much longer compared to the Z. From: a happy new Z owner Rock on Nissan!
Seriously was about to try and attempt to order a z Nismo tomorrow but after seeing this I might stick with a used M2 Comp
Bro I dont even think the Z can compare to m2 comp
so im buying a Z in march and of everything iv learned i need to immediately buy some new coil overs and tires, those are the biggest complaints across everybody
Neat picking for content...
This is the standard for how all car reviews should be. 😂
Haha thanks mate
1:27. 👍
If every car review is like this then you should just walk no need to drive dude
Best part is my LHD doesn't have a issue with the cup holders and being a manual 😂😂
How would it being LHD make any difference?
@Coyote350 cause the cup holders don't move from side to side, so therefore I don't hit any drinks in my cup holders when shifting unlike the RHD version
Oh so the handbrake on LHD models is still on the left side of the centre console! I just looked it up, make sense. What doesn’t make sense is why they didn’t do it properly for the RHD models.
@Coyote350 yeah that definitely is weird, they did get lazy with alot on these cars.
I'll be driving that thing so fast you'll never notice those things
Careful, the engine blows up or u get arrested for going over 100 😂
The sticker got me lol
Maybe , on the left hand drive model the cup holder works , better
#2 you know squat. Squat gives it forward grip.
almost every one of these points can be justified by nissan cause either its a sportscar not an SUV, or cause its a sports car thats supposed to be a direct competitor with the new supra... meaning its one of the cheapest.
1. yeah thats sad but whos really gonna care at the end of the day people arent buying z's for the attention to detail.
2. just get coilovers for like 2k more if you dont like it
3. save weight and its not like thats such a negative that you have to point it ouit like i shouldnt buy it JUST for better seat controls.
4. the sticker is a disappointment but once again, who cares, if theres a slight imperfection like that corner just cut it since its just a sticker, or take it off and actually paint it, you can clearly afford a brand new sports car upwards of $40k, spend a bit more to get tthat fixed if you dont like it, or buy a luxury car, not a z.
5. this car was very clearly marketed towards america for left hand drive, so yes as it is kinda bad and i do agree with you on this point, you have other cup holders, 2 seats and 4 cups is weird if you ask me.
6. who cares wtf
7. who cares wtf x2
8. street racing are we? thats illegal.
9. if youre wanting good sound get a mustang, almost any modern car will have bad exhaust.
10. no proof lmao what is this
11. no proof and that must be rough knowing you had to break that hard (fr tho yeah thats kinda a prollem)
12. yeah the quality is bad but other than that just learn how to use a backup camera lmao almost every backup cam does that distance thing. (also the camera was on the grass in the cam you very obv moved it to the rocks for that shot)
13. its like barely off lmao its a budget sports car
14. you literally pointed it out, its a sports car, noobody buys these things for traveling...
i feel like this video was made as a joke, but idc i would love to own this car and if anyone tries to say its still bad, you try making a 400hp twin turbo drift car on this level for under 50k starting from scratch (other than the 370z interior)
There is also a big problem where if you tune or try almost any engine mod the engine blows.
This car is ugly BUT Yea, this engine was used for many years on infiniti q50/60 redline sport, and people have tuned them for very good power...for years now. Learn 2 cars before typing 🥴
Racebox, ams and other tuners came to a conclusion that 2018+ ecu is very problematic while and after tuning. I picked up a 2017 q50rs and going on 2 years fbo, ecutek, 477whp running strong.
@@s7v7nfiv5 cool I hate working on this new z only done 5 but they suck
I love this car, it's up to you how you going to modified it or use it. It's the driver that makes his car a winner.
Um no. It's the car.
I assume the Nismo will get brembos and better suspension. Only 2 real problems solved then. Couldn’t care less about the rest.
it Has 4 Piston brakes ever heard of Akebano Brakes ?
To me, those aren't enough reasons to call it "Trash" , or stop buying one for that matter.
Other than the BMW....sorry Toyota Supra, what other manual, rear wheel drive and relatively light sports car at that price is avaliable?
I like the Camaro and Mustang, but they are still too heavy for what I want.
Sir you forgot to post the video on april 1st
Reason #16: The metal strip that runs along the top of the window to the back of the liftback. it ruins an otherwise attractive car.
Am I the only one who absolutely hates this styling cue? Why can't the top match the body color?
AMS Performance has gotten this car into the 9’s. I can forgive most of the 400z’s faults except for one, having to drop the motor to replace the turbos…
this car,if it had not taken the basis of the old one it would have cost the price of a Lamborghini.
so being able to collect parts from Nissan and Infinity to make a new car is a stroke of genius
Some things are just unacceptable from a design and engineering standpoint and some may be attributed to post covid supply chain and labor shortages. Either way for the money they want for that car , they should be embarrassed.
So basically theyrr selling a 90s Nissan sportscar in 2023? Sign me the fuck up.
I died with the 15th , jajaja
The only reason I can think of is that a lot of the JDM Fan Boys wanted the full Japanese built car to take down the GR Supra and to prove that the Supra is a mistake to merge with BMW, but sadly it was a back fire… T_T
This seems extremely nitpicky. None of this would stray me away from it
bonnet rubs against the body panel if not correctly aligned
i own a 2021 370z if i get it turbo my car looks better and has more power on top its cheaper
Its a new nissan, cost cutting is showing, the brand is a 'has been'
So launch control and Hill assist should be on at the same time? This guy makes no sense.
Glad I watched this. I was thinking of buying one. Not now!
So basically, wait till dealerships can’t sell them and then buy a base model a couple years after, and replace every stock part with aftermarket parts to fix all the shortcomings…
You’re really just paying for the engine, a chassis, and the basic necessities.
Can’t say I’m surprised. Nissan has always been barebones…
Not trash just cool its the 90s again better then a mustang at least it looks good
Fuel filler and door handles made it a NO for me.
I feel like a lot of issues you have with this are fixable with mods anyway. Also for the roof have you heard of vinyl wraps?
Anything is fixable with modifying…
Shouldn't have to modify a brand new sports car for it to be acceptable
the exhaust even aftermarket is all rubbish. the 370z and 350z sounds better
@@jhirmanetan624 probably because of the more restrictive cats and new regulations demand to equip a PPF on every new car with forced induction... 🤷♂
Yea I only seen like 2 on the road since they came out
Reason 15 is very valid. I will have mine in British racing green or similar color please.
There are lots of crossovers and suv out there, with electric seats, cupholders and what not. Why you didn't buy one of these. Usually you would buy this car becuse it's a rear wheel drive turbo manual coupe , witch is pretty rear thees days
The camera thing you went too far bro😂😂😂
😂😂😅
Or not far enough...😏
Oh yeah all your complaints just means you’ll be happier in an automatic Miata
Nothing you said changes my mind it’s not perfect, but for the price it’s pretty solid
What colour is under the roof sticker?
I’m not sure and I’m not taking chances 😅 I’m guessing it’s just the paint color of the car. In this case yellow.
@@Coyote350 fair enough 🤣 I have the yellow colour on order. Now thinking it'd be cool to get rid of the sticker (hope there's yellow underneath) then paint the katana sword part black
@@davidmarkus3378 It should be a paint over instead of wrap (anything is possible with nissan). the L/R difference was probably caused from a screw up by whoever put on the masking tape.
@@Align700nitro I can confirm that at least that rear hatch part is a wrap. I could literally put my fingernail under it and start peeling it off if I wanted.
@@Coyote350 That's not good. I know nissan is under financial but a factory two-tone done by a wrap (black wrap) is like a disaster.
Hahaha, if you hate your z so much, give it to me
ALL IT IS, IS A 370 WITH A DIFFERENT ENGINE. ALL COSMETIC IMPROVEMENTS, BUT CHARGING $20,000 MORE. I’D MUCH RATHER PAY EXTRA AND GET A C-8 ‘VETTE.
You think I should still cancel my Nissan Z order?
I reckon drive one and see for yourself. I can’t really tell you what’s best for you.
@@Coyote350 I’ve driven it but only for about 10 minutes and liked it personally. I’ve just seen a lot of negativity about the new Z that’s all.
Do you regret your decision or are you still happy with yours despite its shortcomings?
@@rummyb7461 I was never planning on keeping it long term. It’s up for sale now. It was merely to have fun for a few months and to make content. If I had more cashflow I’d probably keep it for longer and do some mods. Doing some mods may have convinced me to keep it. I’m still happy with it. Just with Suspension, exhaust and tune the car would be a whole new beast.
@@Coyote350 fair enough 🙂
I just bought my 2023 Z two weeks ago. It is so sick. Mind you, this is the first sports car I've ever owned, and also have driven. I have 0 experience or comparisons to other cars but it is incredible. I drive the automatic which feels great. The engine noises sound great, and although I guess it's amplified/artificial through the speakers it sounds good. I imagine if you wanted something really loud and obnoxious you would modify it anyway.
The suspension does feel soft (I guess?) But the ride quality is absolutely amazing. I use it as a daily driver and I wouldnt want to have a harsh ride everywhere I go for me and my passengers.
The power and speed is insane, again no experience with anything else at this level but it is so much fun to drive. The numbers provided seem to be 0-60 in 4-4.3 seconds for the automatic which is objectively quick.
From my point of view the Z is an excellent car for the average person. I cant speak on behalf of diehard enthusiasts however. I imagine most of the issues people have (exhaust too quiet, suspension too soft, tires, etc) the enthusiasts would modify themselves anyway
As for the other nitpicky reasons it's (trash) I think they are negligible. Side mirrors? Trunk space? Hood? Roof? Etc are non factors. The car looks and feels amazing.
Hopefully this helps your decision. Not to mention you'll be the only one within hundreds of miles driving it. This is a rare car currently and it's fun to own and be seen with one of only a few in the country.
Do you even know that your car has the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car? ADUH??????? That should be your number one reason for saying the Z is trash. Number two should be the color!
Trust me the guy he buy this want maxing hp upgrade for lower price like old gtr
the only Z car Nissan tried to build with quality
was Z32
I’m still buying one
Fake engine noise through speakers on a sportscar is super lame.
My 370z has the same fake engine noise. So I got a loud exhaust to hear the real noise
why would they bother putting in good suspention and exhaust when every single Z owner swaps them out anyways 🤦♂
I understand exhaust, but the suspension on this thing is just not acceptable in the modern day for a sports car.
@@Coyote350 Thats every sports car though. If people want to take it round a track or moutain lowering the COG is must if you dont want to get out done by an 86 plus coilovers are most the time better than stock suspenion
Nice.
Toyota-daihatsu hyperfans from indo really like this video and worshiping supra.
#17 The special model is that shade of yellow that looks like it's too shades away from goose poop. If nissan had any brains whatsoever they would have made the special model look like the devil z wangan midnight.
NISSANS MARKET CAP IS 14 BILLION.... IT WOULD BE 2 BILLION IF NOT FOR THE ROGUE.
Yeah as soon as I heard you pronounce Nissan I immediately disregarded the whole video 😂
Reason 16: they advertised it with Brie Larson... 😤
Im very picky with body line and been to the dealerships and seen 3 z and sat in one winch was proto spec and all the bodys of those 3 are built better than most 2023 car, but I'm going to say, they probably just build them better for the Americans, which is their biggest market lol
2024 model better fix these audacious problems or else
I liked the concept of the Z but thought the gr corolla was more unique and built well. I couldn't get over the Z being 2023 car with a parts bin of older tech. eg the body, manual trans, suspension & handling, some interior parts and switches. Plus Nissan is in bed with Mitsubishi and Renault and seems like a dying company made me pass
I agree about the automatic side mirrors haha even my 2004 $5000 Nissan Fuga has that. Plus the reversing camera is better than the Z too. LOL. Other than that I love my Z Proto Manual.
Nissan made a sports car that sounds like crap with average acceleration that can't handle which would cost 10k to fix. I'll just buy an M2.
In Australia this car is considerably cheaper than an M2. Over in the US however, it is a pretty viable option. The new Nissan Z can handle pretty well, it just is not confident at doing it at all if that makes sense. 0-100 acceleration isn’t anything special but my gosh is the 100-200 a different car.
Could just get the sport exhaust
@@anthonyfields3856 Doesn’t come on the manual model.
They will be great used in a few years… just not for $55k and still needing atleast another $7000 in mods to fix many issues
At that point just look at a different vehicle engineered in the last 5 years
I was a big fan of the 350z. Owned and drove one for 10 years. But, for the price and what’s being offered in this Z, I decided to get a Camaro. Much better car for the value.
Getting a 370z is my car dream. I dont know which one i should get though. An older 2000s model for 20k and turn it into green or a newer 2016-2022 for 45k 🙄
I don't like this one in the vid that much and its also expensive 😅
Get an older one since every 370z from 09 to 2021 are the same
@@Thomas-ut8kd but the newer ones have lots of extras and less km etc so maybe its worth the price?
@@easypro Nah theres no extra besides day time lights in the front bumper besides that they are identical. But yeah it will be harder to find a low KM one in an older model but theyre definitely out there
I'll start by acknowledging I did not read all the (currently 411) comments below, but I have to believe this is complete satire. As someone did note below, all of these items outlined by our mealy-mouthed host are completely inconsequential. Full disclosure: I just bought a 2024 Z; Performance Model, 6-Speed Manual. This car is amazing! It is a 3500lb 3.0L Twin Turbo Coupe. Of course is it loads of amazing fun to drive! 😀🤩🥰
No balls you won't rip that roof sticker off to expose the color underneath.
15 reasons? Damn, You really hate this car LMFAO 😂😂😂
You missed the biggest reason.... dealer markup. I've seen it between 80-120USD!
300 Z was almost indestructible
