  • U.S. Marines flying a CH-53K King Stallion heavy-lift helicopter transported an F-35C Lightning II airframe from the F-35 Integrated Test Force at Patuxent River (Pax ITF) to a Navy unit located at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, April 24.
A Marine aviator from Marine Test and Evaluation Squadron 1 (VMX-1) piloted the most powerful helicopter in the Department of Defense that carried the inoperable airframe, which was without mission and propulsion systems, outer wings, or additional equipment, to the Prototype, Manufacturing and Test (PMT) Department of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst for use in future emergency recovery systems testing. #usa #marines #aviation

This F-35 was just born. And learning how to fly. The helicopter is gentle and doesn't go to high. The Cute little feather's are growing and soon this little baby will be a full grown raptor. Carry on little one....Carry on!

Apart from flying Marines, this has to be the
Most expensive cargo ever carried in the history of helicopter aviation.

      It's a stripped airframe...it's not that valuable.
Considering heads of state, and CEO's getting flown around...probably not even close to the most valuable (depending on definition).
There have also likely been flights carrying high value, hush-hush cargo.

Why not fuel the F35 as well, as the price of petrol rise theese days?

A Boomer. The one who fills up your gas tank. The Navy uses a basket system. The Air Force a probe. Pros and cons to each. Helicopters of course have whirling blade. In the US Air Force...the Boomer. Will attach himself to a cable out of the back of the plane. He has a squiggy and window cleaner. Does the windows. Often...on long ✈️ flight's. He will sell snacks and soda. And he delivers it to the co pilot. Because he has the credit card. This is standard US Air Force procedure. Now remember. Thats 5% back if you spend the minimal limit. Sign here. Most B-52 crews like the convenience. Saves alot of time standing in line at the PX. US Air force has all the angles. Including Triangles. Black ones. Flying Doritos! They run on Mountain Dew. But thats classified. That is all......
    Carry On.
