In this video you will see two United States Air Force (USAF) Boeing C-17 Globemasters, two United States Marine Corps (USMC) Sikorsky VH-3D Sea Kings (Call-sign 'Marine One' when carrying the President), two Royal Air Force (RAF) Aérospatiale SA 330 Pumas, two National Police Air Service (NPAS) Eurocopter EC145, a 658 Squadron Army Air Corps Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin 2 and the USAF Boeing 747 (VC-25) call-sign 'Air Force One' that carries the President around the globe. This doesn't include the Boeing C-32s and other aircraft that also assisted with the operation.
You will also see the Cadillac limousines nicknamed 'The Beast(s)', armoured Chevrolet Suburbans, Ford F550, Ford F350, a Chevrolet Express truck of the United States Secret Service (USSS) and White House Communications Agency (WHCA), and two Chevrolet Suburbans and a Mercedes-Benz SUV of the United States Embassy to the UK. These vehicles were escorted by BMW R1200 motorcycles and a Range Rover police car of the London Metropolitan Police's Special Escort Group (SEG).

First time I saw the C-17 on ground, I was really impressed. Now that I just realized it has reverse capability, I'm just speechless. This is completely on another level. America will always impress the world and leave you with something to keep talking about 👍👍
I didn’t know that jets don’t typically “back up”, but after reading your comments…hats off to the USAF!
Yes, they use their thrust reversers. Their primary purpose is deceleration after landing. They do not normally apply brakes until the thrust reversers reduce their Runway speed.
C17 was designed to into the most remote shit hole airports with no support. Land on dirt roads, take off land on the smallest of runways. That way it can get vehicles and supplies almost anywhere and not limited by the airport facilities or equipment.
All modern jet planes have thrust reversers, the problem is airlines don't want pilots to use reverse on the runway when stopped.
@Pablo Martin It's not economically feasible for commercial aircraft to "push off" using Thrust reversers. It requires excess fuel consumption and blowback to the ground Personnel and terminal. In addition, they have no rearview mirror. Lol 😊

I've flown in many C-17s and this was my job when I was in he military. I was stationed at HMX-1 and flown many places! This video brought back so many memories! Kudos!
What an amazing experience. I’ll never forget the rollercoaster dive of the C-17 to land in Afghanistan. How such a massive jet can maneuver as it does is beyond me.

I think C17 or Military Transport planes just built different than Commercial ones, bc the Commerecial ones can reverse by its own power but only in emergency situation, why? bctge engine of Commercial ones wasnt build to reversing too often bc it could damage the engine
you do get some smaller commercial aircraft reversing from the gate under their own power, but never the bigger ones, its one of the few times that it would need to reverse, but if a large airliner did try it the force produced from the engine would cause a lot of damage to the terminal

@@safeandsound7220 commercial planes can reverse under own power if they want to its just more efficent and safer at airports to have a tug do it! some engines can do direct thrust reverse the majority use thrust diverters to brake the plane when landing! the c17 is a stol aircraft meaning short take off and landing meaning it can land on a runway just over 1000 meters long and take off again so it need the ability to turn under its own power it can land on dirt and unpaved runways too no problem

The USAF uses either a Boeing C17 Globemaster or a C5 Galaxy cargo plane to carry marine one and the limo. They get there in advance before the president ofc

We always think of a few limos and suburbans and a few secret service vehicles... when in actuality they're are over 16 identical limos for the president and different ones for the VP... and numerous specialty secret service vehicles... many are placed around the US and only used when a presidential visit comes to that region of the country... however, on overseas trips with multiple stops at multiple locations, you get an idea just how many they're really are!
With a lot of guns, assault weapons and care for the environment and global warming...
There is nothing like seeing Airforce One making her grand entrance.

When Obama came to Kenya, he came with airforce one, and he was being driven in a "strong" car called the beast. I also heard that that a part from aircrafts that were up there during his stay, there was also a submarine surveying the Kenyan waters at the Indian Ocean.
It’s wild! There are some areas of the world that when visiting , the US Military takes very seriously. When Biden went to Taiwan with the China threat going on, an ENTIRE US Naval Carrier Strike Group deployed beforehand to the South China Sea near Taiwan, JUsT for his visit. A Gerald R. Ford Class Supper Carrier with 78 fighter jets aboard, 2 guided cruise missile ships, 2 destroyers , some support vessels and a Submarine. The US doesn’t like to take chances when our President goes anywhere, let alone possibly hostile areas. It only takes 1 crazy person. A lot of people don’t like that the US supports the countries we do and that makes ANY and all travelling domestically and abroad a logistics nightmare.
As someone that has seen ungodly ammmounts of road side bombs, IED’s , suicide vehicles and individuals in Afghanistan thst were jsut targeting your average US solider it’s an example of why our President travels so heavily. I know many say it’s overkill and most the time it looks that way, but that presence is 99% of what keeps those incidents from happening.

I’ve been SO curious about that development . I know the Trump administration was really pushing to replace the current Air Force One Jet particularly, the Ospreys and Blackhawks. Sounds like the CH-47 Chinooks won’t see a replacement for some time. The Beast (s) finally got replaced but my greatest curiosity is the main Air Force one Jet. Every documentary on the current one talks about its ability to safely orbit the globe in a nuclear attack for a long period of time (with air refueling) classified defensive measures , classified electronic warfare /jamming/scrambling sensors , redundancy to make sure it never has an issue . Seems like such a big easy target but the goverment is confident enough in it for whatever reason enough to ship the President around without worry? So I can’t imagine what the next generation will be with all the emerging tech and threats of today.

I saw Air Force One in Tennessee during the Obama Administration. I saw it on the ground a few hundred yards away and it was massive. It dwarfed all the other planes around it. Great video.

On one occasion, I did see a Royal Marines Merlin with the rear open and a gun mounted on a US Presidential visit in 2018. I'm not sure if that was intentional for security or just coincidental.
The amazing thing is this is the standard compliment whether the president is traveling internationally or domestically within the United States. The only differences are they often have a third Marine helicopter and depending on how far the are traveling the helicopters might fly themselves to the destination instead of needing the C17’s.

Those C-17s were from Joint Base Lewis McCord, just down the freeway from me. Back when I was in the Air Force it was called McCord Air Force Base, and it was my first choice for assignment after basic training and the police academy, but I didn't get it. I got my second choice, Fairchild AFB on the other side of the state, instead. Still, 300 miles from home was "close to home" compared to most other bases.
