I thought the tempo was slightly rushed when compared to the original and it seemed a bit bombastic at first. But later there was a softening of the dynamics and a sense of tenderness at the end...

I'm not entirely sure I agree. The tempo is slightly faster than on the telly but it retains the drive that underlies the piece. As I see it, the music is not meant to be melancholic only but also to retain the grandeur of old as well as a sense of action or perhaps development. Just my two ha'penny, I suppose.
Stunning performance! This is one of my favorite theme songs as I’m re-watching Downton Abbey now. I’ve also caught your tutorial for Für Elise. I played piano once and it was a signature piece of mine- fun relearning. Thank you, Sir 😁

Well played, Ryan. I think your occasional glances at the camera are part of the artist's prerogative, you have earned the right to personalize your performance and the love you show for your music is evident. 10 out of 10 from me !!!
At first, I thought he was being cocky when he looked at the camera.... Now I don't know... :) But that's a rendition ( in my opinion ) more emotional than the official orchestral version of the theme. I keep listening to this over and over again, so for what it's worth, a masterful rendition! Love it! ^_^

I've learned to play this piece now, it's not very hard. Easy to edit as well! I recommend anyone doubting whether to play it to just do it. I'm happy it's in my repertoire.

this is natural and so pleasing to my ears, heart and mind.
Beautiful! However, for constructive criticism I think you need to work a little more on dynamics. Sometimes it sounds like you're just hitting the piano at the beginning and it looses some of the emotions and also the tone of the notes. Towards the end is when you start playing with more feeling and there is much more of a range of dynamics and use of tempo, it was more tasteful. But you have fantastic agility~ Fluidity was top notch.
He pounds each key and there is zero subtlety. This is not rock and roll.
+bemyvforever yes, there's a grace and subtlety to the downtown score. "Preparation" on the soundtrack is a great example of what you're describing.
