  • What is the Bronco Fitness Test?
    The Bronco is a fitness test used in field sports where you run shuttles of 20 metres, 40 metres, and 60 metres, five times over as quickly as you can.

      Exactly! 1 time = out 20m, back to start, out 40m, back to start, out 60m, back to start.

    Do you have a rest inbetween sets or is it continous

      Hi Stewart. You don't rest between the sets as it is a continuous test. Let us know how you get on!

      It is a continuous test it’s famously feared in rugby for the difficulty

      I guess you could rest if you wanted but the clock is still ticking and you loose time

      There’s a broken version of this. You do one set (20,40,60) and beat it under 1 min, then rest for 1 min + the remainder time. And then you repeat 5x

    Couldn't you just run 1200m in a straight line ?

      Hi Ian, this test is designed for pitch based sports. These sports generally include change of direction and varied sprint distances. Having a shuttle format allows for the inclusion of these qualities and helps make the test more game like.
