What so special about that nut. When you are making a CUSTOM guitar, not the machined guitars of big factory, you have a neck, you have a fretboard that goes on the neck, and you got a bone blank that goes ON the neck, behind the fretboard and you cut the nut down to size to fit the guitar... So when this happens, you see the nut resting on the neck, behind the fretboard as it is with this example.... THE Big Factory method uses nuts are all the same PREMADE size, and they will CUT a slot in the NECK/FRETBOARD instead of cutting the nut!
It's a great looking guitar.. I was very surprised by the fretboard. It actually looked hydrated and not dry

i bought the FAT faded cherry DC last year and its in the absolutely same quality range. Its such a fun and pleasure to play it. All Thomann HB that are build in Indonesia are in that perfect shape. Got also the EX 84 from Thomann with the Grover locking tuners in shell pink and all i have to do is to set the action a bit lower, thats it. A great playable guitar too.
I've always been a Fender guy, but my daughter took a shine to a particular Harley Benton model, so I reluctantly bought it for her Christmas. I thought I would just upgrade a few things for her to make it decent. Tuners, pups, nut and bridge etc.....but the model she wanted comes with all Gotoh hardware, Alnico 5 pups, Graphite Tusq nut etc. It arrived the other day and I inspected it.....absolutely blown away by the quality of the instrument. Top stuff. Well set up straight out the box with a great action. It's flawless....and less than £250. Crazy good guitar for the money. It's an SC-DLX Gotoh in Daphne Blue. I want an HB for me now.

Six months ago I purchased the LP JR special with the single cut and two p90s from Thomann. Ive owned real Les Pauls and the quality is equal if nit better. You can't beat the price when you buy Harley Benton guitars.

The only change i made to mine was making a clear polycarbonate pickguard to replace the black one it came with… just aesthetics, but i liked the color of the body coming through.. made the guitar look even more basic and simple

another thing,the neck tenon fits the body so well u could take the scratchplate off and it wouldnt look weird.gibson tenon joints usually have gaps.got 2 of these 2yrs ago and the quality was the same.
From watching the video, and with a critical eye, I concur with your analysis of the HB DC junior in terms of build quality etc. However, we have not heard a single note from it, and if it sounds as good as it looks, then fine. But that action! it is to be hoped that the bridge can be lowered in order to lower the action quite a bit, as I couldn't play with such a high action.
unfortunately I do not have a way to put guitar notes on youtube... guitar channels have all kinds of equipment for that, I just do not. Im just a hobbist..
It’s okay and understandable if you’re a beginner and don’t know better but smooth rounded edges should be a quality standard on every single new guitars out there no matter what brand,,unfortunately it’s not
From my research there are only three unicorns in the super cheap category(other than cheap strats). This DC Junior, the IYV IPV-350, IYV IJZ-300. All the other super cheap guitars require lots of work.
i have 4 HB (ST-20 HSS, Fusion II HSH, DC-580 CH Vintage Series and a D-120CE electro acoustic) for the price and quality you cant go wrong, i also have a Gretsch 5230t and a ltd edition Fender player series..I have to say that the Harley Benton guitars are worth a lot more what you pay for them in quality, i used to have a HB TE-20MN but sold it to my cousin 6 months ago (who played in a local band 30 yrs ago) when we had a few beers ,.loved that red HB tele, wont do that again 🤣
I always go back to playing the HB guitars, as they are good guitars and i have a soft spot them in my heart for all of them in my stable..HB guitars are brill and have beautiful quality whatever price you pay for one 😁👍
edit: I have to say that i have never had bad frets edges on all of them or poor quality paint..same as with my Donner DTC-100 that the wife bought for me for xmas as cheaper guitars you cant go wrong 👍
would i pay alot more for another guitar? NO! brand names cost you a lot of money for the name on the headstock..there are cheaper guitars out there which are just are good, which you can have fun on..cheaper HB and Donner quality has sold me to them 👍
Definitely looks good. Hard to tell from the video but would you call the finish TV Yellow? Looks very butterscotch.

What does it weigh? It looks beautiful but I can't play a boat anchor these days, I'm old. My 9lb LP stays in the case. Anything over 7.5lbs can stay at the store.

They DON’T play and feel the part… sustain comes nowhere near. It’s okay to have fun with, jam a couple of chords… but that’s it. So you have 9 HB’s. Where are your Gibsons you compare them too?
Only problem. If you have a problem with a Harley Benton Thomann will do nothing for you and try to make you feel like you are screwing them over. Gibson stands behind there products. I will never buy another guitar from Thomann I had a problem and they treated me pretty bad. There loss.
i have had thomann take good care of me when I had issues with their harley bentons. they were issues I can fix so they mostly give me $ off .. issues that were unfixable, they refunded me in full. thomann HB is great

It's hilarious to read the comments from the Gibson fan boys versus ANY other guitar brand. "It doesn't have the mojo a Gibson does", "Gibson has something special in their guitars", "You can't get that magic you get from a Gibson". All BULLSHIT unarguable comments that can't be proven or measured in any way shape or form by "suckers" who are stuck with an overpriced guitar. I bought an Epiphone LP used. Put $500 into it and it sounds as good as any Gibson and saved me several thousand dollars. Gibson IS the Nike of guitars, not better just over-priced for the name.

Rubbish. I bought one of the fat necks with the splittable pickup and you get what you pay for. The pickup is noisy and the difference between the double coil and single is almost indiscernible. It’s like a toy Les Paul Junior.
