As a fellow semi-adult person with ADHD, I understand the feeling of ‘I’ve hyper fixated on this thing so much for so long that now I’m tired of it and somehow already bored and sad’. Without a passion project, daily life is boring and routine is terrifying. I suggest watching Studson’s miniature building channel for a dose of inspiring projects you’ll never make but tiny things are so cute and it just looks so doable and fun. Once you start collecting trash, maybe you can make a giant mushroom out of it. ~

I don't think I have ADHD but I have depresson & anxiety, & I definitely get what you mean, I kinda feel like this as well.😐 Like I feel like I need to be doing things but then It's hard to find the motivation. 😐

    • @molloblin
      @molloblin Před 2 lety +1

@@jasminstanley1532 I have this often. I find one of the best things I did for myself was to stop standing in my own way by focusing too much on 'prioritizing'. Don't get me wrong, priorities are important, but when you have no motivation to do anything you're supposed to do and a teeny tiny bit of motivation to do one good thing that isn't a priority, just do the tiny thing! That little success might be what it takes just to get started and the motivation can sometimes snowball from there. Hope this might come in handy.

Make a mushroom fort! Sew a huge blanket that's spotted on the top and ribbed on the bottom and then build a fort out of it to disappear into and draw or read or whatever you want! Paint a mushroom lamp! Make mushroom fairies based off of weird or interesting mushrooms! These are just a few mushroom centered ideas because I, too, love mushrooms with a passion!

It is not a "want" or not. I get what you're saying, but as far as I heard, CZcams is not that forgiving (as a plataform). The algorithms themselves put a lot of pressure on creators to be constantly producing (which is terrible, yes). Therefore, when this hot pile of mess we call CZcams is a job, one can go bananas. The more you depend on it(numbers for sponsors, etc), the worse it gets

I am not a youtuber, but even I am fed up with this platform's policies. This is not a fight between you, I, and another. It's a platform that dominates the market and promised a future for it's creators for a huge while. And the way it gets away with so much is by making it the creator's responsibility. I'm kinda invested on that right now, since another youtuber I like very much has been banned for more than a week due to such arbitrary policies, bot mistakes, etc. And the way they had to deal with the fear of having everything deleted... bruh

I relate so hard. I got an ADHD diagnosis this year and have been finding some ways to make stuff like this work a little better for me. Here's one; I set an alarm that goes off on Tue,Wed,Thu (social media days) and when that alarm goes off I take a couple pictures and a short video of whatever I'm working on that day, and post it. I do mostly short format because I just promote my art on IG but setting the alarm and then just turning the camera on to whatever you're already doing might help get over the hump of "but I really dont WANT to get the camera and set up the shot with lighting and clean my desk and paint my nails..." Alarm goes off, hit REC, keep going.
I'd probably switch focus to something like weekly studio-vlogs that are just clips from throughout the week strung together with music, and maybe a brief intro/outro. It'd be minimal editing and be passively collected footage from the week, which doesn't have to be all art-related. It may at least get you back into a routine that works for you, possibly? Then get other ideas moving?
That's just me, I hope this at least gives you some perspective on other possible solutions, but really just do what YOU wanna do. We're here for the ride.

Make a list. But you've got to try to slow Down and do one thing at a time. You're amazing, your art is fantastic and your mind is beautiful.
Choose a project you're working on and finish it. Maybe accomplishing one thing will lead you to wanting to accomplish more? I've always had to do this. Same bouts of depression with anxiety, but if I finish one (of many) projects, I'd feel proud of myself and I'd continue- one by one.
Breathe love, enjoy your new space.

Hey Echo, always happy to see you upload :)
earlier this year i had a burnout as well.
What helped me to start doing the things i didnt want to do was:
    - make a list /checklist with small steps
    - pick one thing a day/week/whatever to do
    - make it easier to do a thing
For example i really wanted to learn blender (3D program) but could not push myself to do it. I wanted to upload to artstation every sunday for a month, I made a list with topics, Picked plants as a topic.
(day 1) find references for the plant of the week. (day 2) make the flower. (day 3) make the leaf. (day 4) combine them (day 5) texturing (day 6) rendering (day 7) backup day/uploading.
the thing i did to make it easier to start was that pureref (reference pictures) opened on start-up, made my artstation-profile my homepage.
I wasnt perfect with my sunday deadline, but i did it for 9 weeks instead of 4.

first thought that popped in my head with the records: Turn into creative clocks! one could be a pizza with 12 slices and the toppings can be the numbers, and you could do one with musical notes as the numbers, and one could be 4 seasons blending into one another with a seasonal flower for the number spots.
Random things to turn into anime girls: different kinds of hats- not necessarily the girls need to be the hat but maybe find pictures of hats to put the girls in and then design their outfits or styles around the hat? Ball cap, Sunhat, Pirate hat, fedora, bowler hat, chef hat, cat in the hat striped hat, shiny black top hat, hard hat, a crown or tiara..... there are a lot of hats.
I love the idea of you coloring amazingness in the coloring book, and something I've always wanted to do but never seem to have the time/energy/focus to actually complete: use the really big coloring pages as the background, then, using a different medium, add another image on top so it really pops- like maybe the cutesy background is in soft colored pencil but then you use bold paint or sharpies to create a character on top. You could even create the character and then just cut it out and glue it onto the background. You could make the background trippy neon and the character in black and white, or the background in really soft neutral watercolor or something and then smack a neon colored alien in the center lol
You could also use the big pages to create a quilted look by drawing your own pattern in the large sections, so like the 5 petals on a flower could be like a pattern of little pink bows, pink with purple polka dots, pink candy cane stripes, doughnut pink icing with sprinkles, and pink and purple butterflies, and the leaves could be watermelon stripes, and a pattern of green gummy bears, and a bunch of frogs. Looking at it up close would show all the little differences, but if you stand back the color blocking still fits for a pink flower with green leaves.
As for plushie sewing project first instinct: A blue quail to go with the blue quail eggs! :)
I hope your depression takes a really long vacation soon so you can feel more how you described that 'excited for back to school' feeling again, that's a great feeling I miss it too.

Never had a word for this before you introduced me to the concept of hyper fixation. Thank you very much for pointing me to that phenomenon. I'm so happy to have a word for it now!

YESSSS ECHO COLOURING BOOKS WOULD BE AWESOME!! Your line art style is incredible! Also I’ve been watching you since I was like 9.. I’m 15 now, and I took a break from your channel. I’m so excited to catch up on all the vids I’ve missed!

I've been around your channel for a loooong time, your videos really inspired me to draw and get better at it when I was younger. This year I finished college (studied Illustration) and I didn't want to draw anymore, I closed my social media, and woke up every morning thinking "what am i going to do with my life if i don't want to make art?". I've been really sad because of this, create things was my everything. The good thing is that lately thing are making sence again, I remembered myself how much I have to offer and that I really love this, nothing is a 100% great but I'm really working on it. Sooo, I really hope that motivation comes to you in a natural way, your creations are amazing and I would love to see the way your new life is, decorations, plants, those baby birds and all the things that you're excited about, 'cause we will be excited with you.
Good luck with feelings! greeting from chile, and i'm sorry if my english isn't right uwu.

I know someone who took their old records and turned them into a side table (stacked up, coated in resin, sleeves on, fancy mid-century legs). I feel you on burnout, I haven't even started my youtube channel and already feel burnt out (could be my life...). I watch for your personality, in ye old days of stay at home, no personal interaction, getting to know someone online feels like a friendship.

Ah echo! Not just anyone can have a hyper fixation, it’s a nuerodivergent specific experience. Unlike just a general interest or hobby of a nuerotypical person, a hyper fixation essentially has the effect of a drug on the nuerodivergent person. This is because we aren’t making regular amounts of important chemicals such as serotonin and dopamine, so when our brain releases those chemicals in response to our hyper fixation it’s got a lot of impact leading to obsession. A nuerotypical brain doesn’t experience hyper fixation because it’s already making appropriate amounts of serotonin and dopamine, so the person can’t experience the “addictive” aspects of it that someone with a mental illness would ❤️🖤❤️🖤
It’s rough to be between hyperfixations, in a way it’s like running out of medication, but I’ve always found it helpful to go back through old obsessions to see if anything sticks again!!

I’ve been watching your channel since I was 13, and as I’ve grown up, your channel was a huge inspiration for me to continue art despite how depressed I was, because you made me realize art wasn’t just one thing, it didn’t have to be “normal” art can be my escape, it can be a fun world in my head, it can be anything (if that makes sense?), and since then I’ve been using it to cope. I’m 19 now, I use my skills to make decent money for the most part and I’m working towards becoming a comic artist, and that wouldn’t have been the outcome if not for finding your channel. So thank you and whatever you decide to do with your channel I’ll stick around.

Hi Echo! I'm new to your channel, but you seem like an awesome person! What I found that works when I'm burnt out of something is to take time to focus on yourself, and take a break to spend time with those that inspire you and encourage what you do. Sometimes you just need a break from what you are doing to treat yourself and relax from all the commotion around you. I'm not saying this will work for you, but I thought I could suggest to you what might help you from being burnt out. P.S. Do what makes you the most happy every day, it doesn't have to be the same thing every day. I noticed you smiled more and seem more cheerful when you spoke about your man, so maybe you just need to be around him more often to help you getting out of that burnt state.
Sorry for the long paragraph, but you really do seem like an awesome person! Hope you continue to create more content in the future! Your community here enjoys your content no matter what you do! ^-^

I've seen people decorate and melt vinyl albums into a bowl. They use colored pencils to add color/patterns/drawings to the grooves and then set it on a bowl or coffee can and apply heat using a heat gun to melt the vinyl and push it downward over the bowl or can. When it's all done it looks like one of those tortilla bowls from a taco salad. You can then fill with stuff (I would suggest non-taco) or nail to the wall through the center opening. Or you can sell them on ebay and use the money to buy a real taco salad at taco bell.

I for sure feel this. It’s hard to keep up with everything with CZcams and the burnout is real. It’s also hard to have like a life like you said. I’ve been doing better about setting boundaries but like you said, youtubers basically document their life or their work. I keep getting stuck in the “can I make this a video” loop. And man I miss summer break! That is one of the things I feel people need as adults. The US does not have a great vacation system. I envy Europe and all the places that get like 3 months of time off 😩

If you can't hold on to idea's and your head 'feels empty': Get a whiteboard.
    - Write your idea's or thoughts on it.
    - Come back to it every few days and add/remove stuff.
    - The idea's that stay on the whiteboard the longest: execute.
It worked for me, so maybe (just maybe) it works for you.

My sister in law did a whole wall in her house of records that she put in the oven. I know it sounds weird but when you put a record in the oven the edges twist or fold into the middle and each one looks different because of how the record lines work. They almost look like flowers. It's hard to explain but try looking it up, they are called "vinyl record bowls". I promise it looks super cool!
