- On Tuesday, May 30 at 11:02 p.m. PT, Falcon 9 launched 52 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.
This was the fourteenth launch and landing for this Falcon 9 first stage booster, which previously launched Crew-1, Crew-2, SXM-8, CRS-23, IXPE, Transporter-4, Transporter-5, Globalstar FM15, ISI EROS C-3, and now five Starlink missions. - Věda a technologie
they just recovered 4 humans from space, and a few moments later casually launched another rocket into space, really incredible job by the SpaceX team 👏👏
I was thinking the same thing as I was watching the replay of the landing right before watching this. Who ever would have imagined this kind of pace for American space flight?????
@@DebraJean196 This is the pace NASA wanted for the Space Shuttle, which was HORRENDOUSLY stifled by a lot of factors.
@@Trainlover1995 the Shuttle is what happens when you let a committee with way too many different objectives try and build something. The big one was trying to mix commercial and military requirements on the same bird. It caused the orbiter to be way too bug and way too complex. It was built for missions even the military never ended up using. This drove the costs out of sight. Add in Congressional meddling and it was a wonder it flew at all.
Two different teams, two different skillset.
it's called having enough employees
It will never go old. Landing a 170 feet tall stick in middle of ocean its a regular job for SpaceX. Thank you all for entertaining 2-3 generations together. Love you all.

Less. Please.
SpaceX has given the world 200 successful launches in a row for the Falcon 9 rocket. To put that into prospective, the Russian's (Soviet's) Soyuz-U had a run of 100 successful launches from 1983 to 1986. The only other rocket that comes close was the Delta II rocket which launched 155 times, with two failures. Its final flight, in 2018, was the rocket's 100th consecutive successful mission. Congratulations SpaceX at new records of success!
Doubly more impressive when you remember they did so with a rocket to launch ratio smaller than 1.
Still the only company in the world capable of doing this and making it look easy. 🎉

A great day (night) for SpaceX and Axiom. Private enterprise (with some help from government) leading the way to our spacefaring future. Visionary Konstantin Tsiolkovsky was right. Mankind cannot stay in the cradle forever. We must conquer all of circumsolar space and more. That is a task for the ages, but we are fortunate to be a witness to its beginnings.
Do they plan to use the shorter Merlin vacuum bell for these launches?
Most likely not. The shorter nozzle extension saves money, materials (that are scarce) and time on manufacturing the 2nd stage, but results in overall less delta-v. They use it when they don't need the full lifting capabilities of Falcon, but Starlink is never the case. They've designed Starlink to pack as many as they can on a single launch, and Falcon is rarely as heavy as it is when it launches Starlink. They certainly need the full nozzle extension.
Amazing that they can catch fairing halves - falling with no thrusters or guidance surfaces. How can they so accurately predict where they will come down as to have a ship there waiting to catch them???? And I love the names of their drone ships too by the way!!!!
They don’t try to catch them anymore. It proved to be too difficult. So they did what they should have done in the first place. They made them salt water resistant and so now they let them land in the sea, they pick them up, wash them off, check them out, pack their parachutes etc, and launch again.
I decided to reach out to hundreds of my fans and get know more about, them and give tips about my career I think you are one of them
