- After a huge release with version 5 of djay Pro back in December 2023, Algoriddim are keeping the updates coming with version 5.2. This one expands the options for their crossfader FX, and brings with it support for a large list of new DJ hardware. Mojaxx gives it a first look, on the new episode of Beatsource Tech.

I switched form Traktor (7 years) to Rekordbox (5 years) and now to DJay Pro. Hopefully for a few years too.
It already does tbh, but older DJ’s who bought all their gear and learned Serato or even worse rekordbox don’t want to acknowledge reality.
I have used DJ for quite a while and the only thing I hate is that the gridding is almost always off for tracks without intros.
I m a NI user and rekorbox user. I m use engine too .. very bad.. pitch control is setting to 5/8/10/20/50% only.. with Traktor I’ m playng with 14% 12%.. beatgridding is old yes but using and trained Your ears with this whithout see bpm using NI its like a drug.. rekorbox too.. I want use Algoriddim but these software are too sensitive and For me its easy beatmatching with vinil or using NI or rekorbox.. I dont know why.. Algoriddim is interesting anyway.. engine Apparently was futuristic but …. Very bad
Maybe when they drop the subscription model , I might give it a try
Normally I’d be with you, but I think it’s reasonably priced given that it’s really well supported with a constant stream of new features and great community interaction. Not sure it’s ready to claim the title as the best ‘pro’ platform, but algoriddim’s development approach is leading the way by miles for me.
Not sure what you think a great price is. I can get Traktor Pro 3 for £52. Sure Djay Pro AI has the best features right now , but those do not justify me not owning the software.
Between this and the MASSIVE 12.1 beta update from Ableton, it’s been a great day. Been wanting Phase HID for what feels like years, and the deep integration with Apple Music makes this a no brainer.
Same… this HID mode is going to be game changer… no other app does DVS like this app… none

Same want to get back in modular small scale portable option from my main setup. yet hopefully with only requiring a single library
Great video as always. I hear your frustration with screen support. I purchased Rev 5 and it works amazingly well on iOS. Flx 10, Omnius Duo, RX3 and others will be disappointed with no screen support. Rane four screens are on Mac and Windows so I don’t know why they can’t on those.
mannn, when they launched they were so ahead, and features wise, their touch to effect system was pretty innovative.
probably unpopular opinion, but their stems feature is, and always has been, leagues ahead of its competitors.
the biggest win originally was it's free/native integration with Spotify which sadly was removed..
glad to see non-apple chips being supported though.
Of course they add phase hid support right after I stopped using phase... But I stopped bc I'm using the Crss12's so I'm glad they added the native support for pad modes... While I still main Serato DJay is my favorite alternative software... Thanks for the amazing content as always

Yeah the lack of screen support is a downer, but shouldn't make it unseable at all. The sc loves for instance you can use the screen as an IOS stand :)
I am going to try it out just for the fun of it. Whilst Denon take their time to catchup.
I hope for the Mac version they do add that screen support even if it is just a duplicate of what's displayed on the mac
No screen support for the Denon Prime Go is a huge downer 👎
I'm sure at least for the mac os version it will get there. Event if its just a duplication of what is on the other device screen.
Good heads up video Mojaxx thank you. Still no support for anything by Roland which is disappointing. The 707m remains one of the best mobile DJ controllers out there, love to see that supported particularly with iPad OS. A 707m with iPad Pro support would be a real game changer as far as portability goes. I live in hope !!!
This is great. I was just recently wishing that Phase HID support would come soon. This also gives me better controller upgrade options.
Damn I thought I was going to hear support for the Pioneer djm S11 on screen display.
Completely agree that it’s a nonsense why engine OS isn’t getting full screen support!!!

I have the RX3 and the screen doesn't work, unfortunately. I would gladly use this software instead of Rekordbox, to be honest.

Thanks for the heads up. How about DVS - Thrus button similar to Serato or Traktor so you can which to vinyl analog mode…any update with that?

Tried my sc love 4 with it. OK you loose the main screen but the jog displays are working so I have bpm time and the track position indicator. So it's a start.
Almost, but not quite there.... I've got a RANE 4 but it still doesn't work on iOS (phone and tablet)... Please hurry up and add the support!!!
Nice review bro. But they still have not got full support for the DDJ-Rev7. They need to fix the display on the platter issue.

They need to fix the FX unit with the ddj1000. It’s the only thing holding me back from switching to it.
Would love a way to split the audio into the inputs of a analog mixer without cdjs or turntables for a compact backup setup

Nice update… but I hope they do CDJ iOS update! And please update the sampler!! The sampler needs a huuuuge upgrade!! It’s wayyyy too basic! Needs gain support for individual samples badly!!
Hello. Will it be possible in the future to access playlists created on CZcams Music directly in the app? I'm excited for this feature. I have many playlists created on CZcams Music.
Still no support for Serato Crates on externals, i checked. Does it work for you?

Re: Prime GO, RX2, RX3… why would I buy a device like that - all-in-one where I need “no computer” (cuz the computer is bundled in) - and then want to connect it to software running on a computer? That seems very counter-intuitive to me. If you are doing that, please tell me why you are doing it because I don’t understand the thinking behind it.
There could be a number of reasons.
For me, with the RX2/RX3 it’s because they’re installed at venues I play, and I don’t want to go without stems.
And with the Prime Go, sometimes I haven’t exported quite the right playlists to a drive to use on it. Or I want Beatsource offline files. Or, again… Stems.
@@MojaxxI agree, I have the Go paired up with my iPad and it’s a great portable set up, I have midi mapped my software as the natively supported map lacks a few things including working VU meters for example..
Sure I would love the screen to work but it’s not an end of the world as I’m not sure I would depend upon it given I’m used to the full size of an iPad.

Do you mean the RANE Twelve MK2? Then yes, it's fully supported.
does any of this work on the android app?
I need iOS support for these controllers RANE PERFORMER & the Rane 4 so I can use it as a back up for my main computer

@@Mojaxx I've showed all four decks on Djay Pro. Load on Track 1, play as normal. Everything fine.
If you press the Stems button on the Rane Four you can see the Stems all mapped out to the pads on the Four, but this time Vocals is the 4th pad, Harmonic, 3rd pad, bass 2nd pad and Drums is the first pad.
So reversed. OK, OLED panels let you know, all good.
As soon as you press Stem Split, track separates, so now Deck 3 should be instrumental, so things start going weird from this point.
Press Stem Split again to get back to just Deck 1 playing full track, nothing happens.
I think it may need patching unfortunately.

Traktor hardware support will probably never happen. Which is a shame because I was hoping to test this software out on my Kontrol S2 MK3 before considering making a switch to the upcoming Reloop Mixtour Pro.
Kontrol S2 MK3 is listed as a supported device on the Algoriddim Homepage.
How do you map it to Hercules T7.?
It should be pre-mapped, and start working as soon as you connect it to this new version.
No Reloop Flux support yet?
djay isn’t hardware locked for audio interfaces, so it’s worked with that since day 1. I demoed it in my Flux review IIRC.
@@Mojaxx Its a bit flaky though haven't you found? i may need to buy some Djay specific control vinyl as i was only using Serato when i gave it a go.
I found the settings you saved for it kept resetting too, each time i reconnected my ipad.

They don't support the screens because they want to reserve that feature mostly for their own controllers
I don't think so. It's mostly a license thing (and/or money) thing.
Djay don't like engine powered devices
Its more getting the hardware to integrate. It must be possible given that Virtual DJ and Serato have done it.
