American here. I've only personally met a handful of British people in my lifetime, and they've been nothing but kind, wonderful people!! I love you guys across the pond.
As a retired U.S. Army Soldier and having served with British troops in Afghanistan and Iraq it would take lot for this to happen, but never will. Much respect for our friends across the pond.
As a former U.S. Airman who worked along side Brits on multiple deployments, I'd have a hard time being convinced to attack you guys. Your boys hooked us up with beer when we couldn't get any. That's something a man never forgets.
That's the secret to why you US Military boys love the Brits and us Canadians, we always have beer! I have stories from my Uncle (Ret. RCAF. Back when it was the Royal Canadian Armed Forces, no *real* distinction between the 3 branches) about being on exercises with American Airmen and Sailors and some of them are just bonkers, the fun they'd have together. He got to shoot some fun toys while liaising, said he always had great fun with your boys

It's been decades since my discharge from the U.S. Navy yet, I still would find it hard to believe the U.S. military could actually be convinced to even try an invasion of the U.K.
I'm inclined to believe that the world would see another Civil War over here before that could be accomplished.
Reunite Ireland 🇮🇪 that’s the only intervention I could see, but I think diplomatically that would be an issue. And when I say involved I mean supplying weapons.
I've met so many members of the British Army while I served over seas, I consider them my brothers/sisters in arms just like I do with my brothers here in the US. Much respect.

As a British man I want to let all my American brothers and sisters know how proud and happy I am to see the thousands of comments outpouring love and support for our countries friendship.
There may a vocal minority of predominantly Millenial or Gen Z agitators that give the impression the Brits do not like or even hate America on social media. I want to say that for the vast, vast majority of British people this could not be further from the truth. We know which side our bread is buttered on. Europe are our neighbours and friends, but the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia are family.

Feeling is mutual, I was in college and got to do a study abroad at Oxford (Hartford College) and July 4th you all rolled out the red carpet for me (and the other Americans there)…but when you all found out I was a soldier too (I’m an infantryman and my tattoos gave it away at the bar) you all treated me like I was the bell of the ball, lol. I don’t think I paid for drinks the entire night…

As a US Marine, I can attest to the fact that it would be incredibly difficult to convince US troops to attack the UK. We've worked, trained and fought together for more than 100 years. They are our brothers in arms!
Ever since the Boston tea party we have only battled brothers, we fought like brothers then in the pettiest of ways, until as we got older we bonded to the point of actual brothers. Britain maybe the “mother” of the US but we have been brothers ever since, brothers fight and disagree but still have each others back when they need it

Techneclly us also has the third largest in the form of older aircraft held in reserve as well

The US Air Force is actually the smallest air force in the US. The Navy and Army have more active planes and pilots. I've got friends in those branches. It's actually kind of funny lol.

As an American, I can safely say this would never happen. No reason to even think that it would. Brothers to the end. I might also add, there's no use in saying the UK military is small, it's got the entire US military behind it operating as one.

I just pictured a US commander telling his men to hurry up and put on some British uniforms real quick to help prove this point, and the idea is amusing to me. Because there is enough respect between the two countries and our armed forces that I could almost see it happening, if it weren't that the very same respect would keep us from wearing said unearned uniform.

We're forgetting the UK as a whole "Kingdom" and looking at just the British Isles. There are a lot of countries within the former British Empire that are still technically apart of the UK, while autonomous like Canada (now we have a long border to protect) Australia, New Zealand and a whole lot of others.
But what he didn't factor in is that once the soldiers got to the UK, they probably wouldn't fire a shot and go drinkin with the British lads.

She also did a DNA test and found familial DNA matches in Britain currently. My family through both of my parents came to the new world from Britain in the 1660’s to the 1690’s. I think the Scottish and Welsh links left because of falling out with the crown during a switch in kings. My dad said I guess we know where our rebel spirit comes from lol.

I'm a US combat veteran. I was deployed to Tikrit in 2009 where I lost a good chunk of my leg to an IED. while there I served with some British Commandos. They where some of the finest men i ever had the honor to shake hands with. Both as people and as Soldiers they conducted themselves in a manner the UK should be damned proud of. Some of the finest marksman I've ever seen as well. You learn a lot about a man when you're shoulder to shoulder. What the UK lacks in numbers it certainly makes up for with a VERY high standard. I have trained with the Royal Marines and even trained with Black Watch. 24 years U.S. Air Force here and, I couldn’t agree more. I worked with the Brits many of times and they’re all solid dudes. I love how they’re prideful in ways that we take for granted with ourselves. On my last trip down range with them, at the end, one of them cut the patch off their beret and gave it to me. That’s the decoration I’m most proud of in my career. Sure, you can make yourself look good on paper for your commanding officers and get a medal but to earn that level of respect from a Brit is far more special to me. The big brother/little brother analogy is spot on.

As I was watching this video I felt much sorrow and almost came to tears imagining how sad it would be for brothers or family members to fight each other.
Although I never joined the military, I have family members who have and are still serving.
I have always heard my family members talk about how much they love their British brothers. They never called the the British friends. They always called them brothers.
That said, I appreciate and thank the British for being there, protecting with their lives if necessary, my family members and their fellow soldiers.

I served in Iraq alongside our British brothers during the initial invasion force in 2003 while in the U.S Marines. I have to say they were some of the friendliest guys I've ever met while maintaining a professional demeanour. They might as well have been part of our unit the way we got along and joked with each other. We frequently exchanged MRE items with each other and compared our equipment. I was glad to have them with us and it definitely added a sense of reassurance knowing how well they could fight. Oorah from you're brother across the pond. 🇺🇸 🇬🇧

I have never been across the pond for a visit to England (it's on my bucket list tho) but the parents of a close friend of mine were born/raised there. They moved to the US/became citizens when he was young, we became friends in high school, went to art school/college together. Going to their house was like coming home to my house. Sweet, generous, loving, welcoming, hilarious sense of humor...some of the best people I know. Idk if we drank more tea or beer together, lol. My bro visited the UK & said everyone he met is the exact same way. I love what ya said about being the 51st state of the US, well put man! To me, England is more like family than a neighbor. Nothin but love for y'all!!!!!

The longer the war carries on the higher the probability the US would lose just as it did in Vietnam. Only way you could truly beat the UK is with nukes but then the UK would deploy its own nukes in retaliation.

As a veteran myself...the only ways I could see this happening if it involved Britain having been invaded by someone else or the USA switching ideologically (even ethnically) to something totally different. The USA has been largely separate from the ethical tribal lines of the world before GWOT, but that is now changing and not for the better.

I am a retired Airforce veteran. I love the UK. I have to say it is scary the capabilities of our respective countries. I have nothing but love and respect for my service brothers and sisters across the pond. Even thinking of this situation in the hypothetical context it is presented, who would win, the answer is no one. The historicL sights, lives lost, there would be no winners.
