Great video and glad you guys had fun!. Just an FYI, the onX off-road app is not up to date and the Mountain pass is not washed out by Fort Piute. I called the Mojave Preserve Park service ahead of time and they confirmed it's technically still "closed" but it's passable and to be cautious. I just completed the Mojave Road two days before Christmas for the second year in a row and had no issues going through the Mountain Pass.
Good to know! Yea I was 50/50 on wether it was passable. Parks had it listed closed still and there was signs up so we elected to just go around and not waste the gas checking. We took our own detour though which ended up being a blast!
I love Mojave Trail, various types terrain and interesting plants. But the open space and silence is hard to beat. Just avoid the area in high winds, sand storms are no fun. There also used to be a collection of dinosaurs near the guest book and other collections of toys if I recall correctly. Nice video and message, thanks for sharing. Good thing you were carrying spares and a capable jack!

We just did Mountain pass a couple months ago, road is fixed. The detour is a fun route too!
