Best Off-Road Air-Compressor? Or Just Hype?
zhlédnutí 625Před měsícem
Wolfbox has been advertising their air-compressor on the off-road forums and on their website as an off-road compressor. To be fair, in private chat, they mentioned it shouldn't compare to the real off-road compressors. But hey, their website and ads don't make it seem that way. Before buying one as your primary off-road compressor, watch this video. I made it fun too. Enjoy.

Why Do People Do THIS? Bronco's Fix a Trail
zhlédnutí 942Před 2 měsíci
The other week while out with my family exploring some local trails, I discovered several trails in the area with fallen tree's across them. Instead of removing the tree's, people instead created several bypasses. One or two wont make a big difference sure, but every year, fires, storms and snow knock down hundreds of tree's across our trails and every year, thousands of people create bypasses ...

Bronco's Across the Mojave (A Mojave Trail Experience)
The problem wasn't "cheap Amazon stuff" that created this incident, it was not taking time to connect the kinetic rope properly. A high dollar American made soft shackle would have failed also since the shackle had its minimum bending radius exceeded as well as being pulled against a relatively sharp attachment point. There's a reason gear designed to be used with soft shackles are radiused and contoured. You broke a few cardinal rules of recovery: don't be in a hurry, share the pulling moment between two attachment points if available, use a shovel to remove whatever is blocking your tires to reduce the force required, and don't use soft shackles at attachment points designd for D rings and bow shackles.
Are you pulling your Bronco with your jeep! Way to plan ahead!
Hahaha. Out of my 3 Jeeps, the mini is the only one NOT in a shop
An armchair quarterback might point out 7:53 ~pulling you back into ditch. He should have been way over to the left [his left] side of the road.
Another great video!!
I don't hat anyone says, I appreciated the video.
This is hands down the best review I have ever watched on CZcams! Thank you for taking the time to look into this. PS: As a mechanical engineer who specializes in heat transfer, I was thrilled to see your temperature measurements and Morrflate's design refinements. Morrflate has earned my business, and you have earned a sub!
Appreciate your efforts!
🎉
What a great review and I ton of info!!! You are awesome!
Now it gets 10mpg. U must be proud.
Are you pulling your Jeep with a Bonco? Close to getting a thumbs down my friend. Not a good way to start the video. :P
@@sparkysimian haha guilty as charged. But go look at the Jeeps I have and I’m sure you’ll forgive me.
I'm almost positive I passed you guys heading out as we were heading in on the Princeton side. It pissed rain all weekend and some snow up top, it was a blast
Hell yeah man, hope the channel thrives
The clevence cut your rope, soft shackles aren't made to go through them. Should of put a hard shackle on it and than use the soft. I see folks try to put slinks through shackle lift points all the time over the years. Fastest way to cut a synthetic line.
amazing in depth info on the products.
Interesting and thanks for the honesty...I'm no expert, but maybe use more then one pull point together, if possible, and don't buy cheap stuff made in China....and of course, slow is better.....good luck ;)
how did you get the bolts out by the crossmember where the exhaust goes right under the stud bolts?

Nicely done review!
They are still Chinese brands, only difference is the auto feature. It’s funny how they think they made the actual products. Amazon has the same repeat tools but different brand on Amazon
You are a brave man taking a 6 month old and a 2 yr old wheeling. I've pulled my hair out on road trips with my own kids when they were little. And that was on highways with plenty of opportunities for rest stops along the way 😂
@@SnowPiercer1975 yea, it’s definitely a work out on the trail. But thankfully they do pretty well in the car. My 2 year old loves off-roading and the bronco so that helps
Man, looks like a great time! I'm working on an off-road trailer build right now. Thanks for sharing your mishaps.
This was a very well done video sir. Thank you so much for going down the rabbit hole, getting the info and sharing your knowledge with all of us.
Always did the trail in the reverse of what you did (Dicks Cabin first and end at Lodestone). Curious on how it went coming down the hills past Lodestone your route? Great video. Even for a Bronco.. hahaha Kidding.. I have seen a few trailers there but normally at least as wide as the Jeep.
I love my Milwaukee M18 inflater. Not only does it inflate all 4 of my 34-inch tires on my Toyota Tundra, but sports balls, air mattresses, beach balls, balloons. I also have extra lithium batteries with a rapid charger. And I can also power my 1/2" high torque impact wrench, 1/4" hex impact driver, 1/2" hammer drill, flashlights, circular saw, hackzall, cut off grinder, and many more tools to use around the house and not just offroading 👍
It’s definitely the best battery powered I’ve seen plus it’s versatile like you said! I’m impressed
Jeeps are tools I mean bring tools for jeeps. 😂
Great video
Greetings from Pontassieve, province of Florence, Italy. I have a Suzuki Jimmy 4x4 with a 1.3 LT m13a petrol engine from 2001, all original, which I use to travel through fields, forests and mountains on agricultural and forestry roads used by logging companies.
Very cool video, I seen u guys out there . I was in the blue tacoma in the rain that climbed the big hill after the ranger and bronco😊 u guys all had nice rigs. We tented it and did the whole trail in the rain both days . There was nothing really challenging there even in the rain . Ide personally rate that trail a 3/10 in difficulty in the rain . We did do a trail out by vernon 2 days later that was about a 7/10 and was about a 80km stretch. All in all it was a epic 6 day run . Glad to see u all made it out and no break downs .
@@jasonkussman8328 heck yea I remember seeing ya briefly. Yea I passed a few people that said there was a bunch of rock crawling. Never found it lol. Honestly an easy trail compared to my normal stuff like the Rubicon, just not personally used to rainy camping (I’m from Cali where it doesn’t rain). Sure was an epic trail though! I just don’t recommend a floppy trailer ;)
The trailer was a great idea, just needs to be wider and on torsion axles in my opinion . The hitch u were using too is not the greatest as it allows for complete roll . 70 degree flex would be max ide be ok with . Anything more could leave u in a predicament not just on a trail but the highway should u blow a tire .
@@jasonkussman8328 very good points. I’m starting my research! I’m honestly hoping to not have to wheel with the trailer again anytime soon though haha
@@popo_patty lol fair enough . Well happy trails man .
How do you get to that Vernon trail?
Backwards! Upside down! Spills! Thrills! No hospital bills! Good times on the Whipsaw. 😄👍
Hello! We are interested in what you have posted. We have some automotive related products. Do you accept sponsored products?
Hey there and thanks for reaching out. I very rarely do fully sponsored products as it goes against my normal style of open and honest reviews. Thanks though, I'm humbled by the offer
Like the vid. Rule number 1. Dont bring trailers. 2 Travel light travel right. 3 just get a few tarps and make a big shelter and fire when its raining. No use in hurrying to beat the rain. After all your canadian. Crack a beer and deal with it. Im from washington if it raining we just drink more beer and smoke weed. Camping while its raining is kinda happens here. Another rule. Stay in one spot for a day or 2 or 3 days relax and enjoy. Why be on the go. Drink beer and sit by the fire. Dont need to drive all day just to get to the next spot. Then while your at it you can look over your rigs for any issues instead of something going on while your on the trail. Shit happens i know. Preventive maintenance is a plus. Did i mention not to bring a trailer?
@@Pieguy73 yup, first time trying a trailer. 6 month old and 2 year old require extra gear (pack up crib, sleeping gear, toys, etc) so we didn’t fit for our ten day trip without it. Definitely gonna make adjustments. All of our sleeping gear had gotten soaked the night before so we didn’t feel like setting it up with the young ones in the rain again. Definitely not properly equipped for the kind of rain. Not from Canada and we don’t get all that here. I’m all down for dealing with it on my solo trips for sure! Just not with the family all tired and wet. I love relaxing on the trail but yea. Same point above ;)
That black pw and little tacoma completed the whipsaw just fine. Lol
@@Yippynutsmacker not sure which vehicles you are referring too. But I’m pretty sure most vehicles can complete it just fine :) it really wasn’t a hard trail minus a poorly setup trailer on my part.
Oh wait. Now I remember! The ones playing on that hill!
@@popo_patty I was that black power wagon, the little blue taco was my buddy
You were right about a shit night. The night before you guys camped at that lake, we set up by the outhouse, I was backed in across from it in that opening, next night we camped out by Kelowna, it was nice out that way, we found some crazy trails out there. Probably in some ways worse then the whipsaw.
@@YippynutsmackerI’d love to get out there and spend more time. We were on ten days at that point of driving around. Next time I wanna go solo without the little kids and do some more. I’m planning Alexander McKenzie hopefully

I love baofeng ❤
A small thing in the large of it - I would never identify that camo box as a First Aid kit no matter where in the car it was. A red or white cross on an opposing red/white background color is universally recognized as First Aid. Very good and insightful video though, thanks for sharing this.
I hate what you went through and everyone needs to hear this. But my friend none of us have an hour to sit down and listen to you. Tell a story that you could have told in 10 minute... I've never seen someone dramatized something so much in my life.

Great After-Action Review. It seems to me that you were simply TOO stuck to be pulled out like that and it simply broke at its weakest point. the damage to your front bumper says so. Had the soft shackle not broken, you would have pulled your front bumper off (which may have actually been better for your chin) - you nailed it on the first half of the video. Digging out or maybe pulling again backwards would have been better but hindsight is always 20/20. That being said, I'm updating my kit to have more gauze pads. Thanks for sharing.
Napa has a Laborday sale, just ordered my MTWM10215C for $117 shipped after taxes. I've previously used a Viar 88P in combination of a Ryobi 18v inflator. Thats getting old. I'll do a pressure switch and braided hose/coupler. Wheeling with a budget.
@@UnkyJofus yea Napa finally got some big shipments in. I’ve got a few other compressors since this video and am going to do some follow up stuff soon
There is very little stretch in the soft shackle. In a situation with a short bend radius, the force is concentrated in a small area of the rope diameter
