Episode 03 of Charity Falls is finally here, in this Episode we see our Spartan 719, Maddox, fight his way through the flood inside High Charity on his recon mission for the artefact.
But what awaits inside for him is more than the UNSC bargained for....

Episode 03 is entirely FAN-MADE and not Official Halo content in any way, and was created entirely by me, HaloVFX.

This is WAY better than the TV show. I feel it is the most lore accurate representation of the flood fighting a Spartan.
The Astartes Project of Halo, the animation is absolutely incredible work for just 1 person, well done HaloVFX! Also, kudos to Mitchell Broom, Shapeshifter, and Halofollower who brought this animation to life even further.

I want to point out that this creator with less than 50k subs has created a more interesting, character investing, cinematic, and over all 'Halo' feeling series in 3 episodes than the 90 million dollar +Paramount 'Adaptation' could in 3 episodes at the time of this comment. I know the amount of work it take to simply create a single model in a CGI animation. To see something of this quality with this length on CZcams is nothing short of amazing. I respect you and salute you with force of a Halo Ring activation. Know that I will be a Patron from now on.
I love the connection to the actual storyline too, high charity on instillation 00, a red team Spartan that reports to the spirit of fire. Amazing. I just wonder how the banished let anything close to breaching in or out of that once-holy city.

You'd have to speak to Mitchell Broom / Shapeshifter for that, they controlled the voice / sound fx work on top of it to make it sound gravemind'y :)

Absolutely amazing, tying further into Halo Wars 2 and it’s plot, with fantastic lighting and model quality. The only critique would be that the animations feel “stiff” at times, but besides that this is at or even beats Blur Level cutscenes.
When he lit the energy sword and that music played it was heavenly!

One of the best cutscenes that includes a spartan reminded me of halo wars 2 a lot...could even be in the game it was so premium...epic I am impressed as fuck 🤣🤣
When one dude makes a cutscene 20x better than what we've seen from infinites custcenes which has hundreds of employees, 6 years, and the largest gaming budget ever, really makes yah think. Amazing work. Btw, if anyone complains just look at the cutscene of that banished leader from last year, that was supposed to make us say "wow, this looks great"
to this day im still of the belief the only 2 reasons 343 had that much money and time into making infinite and coming out as meh was money laundering and/or sheer incompetence. Bungie would have made an utter banger of a halo game with that budget.

The reason this looks like what Blur gave us for Halo 2 Anniversary Cutscenes is because the uploader, HaloVFX is a senior animator at ILM (Industrial Light & Magic) who are the most skilled 3D animation company in the world, even more than Blur Studio. Halo community is lucky to have a fan like Mr. VFX here

I love the fact that Halo CE, John was terrified of the flood when he first discovered on halo. I wonder if he still feels jumpy or just embrace it and become the reaper
Sound design was super well done, implementing actual in-game sounds makes it so much better. I did think the mushroom cloud type explosions didn’t really suit Halo’s style but that’s just me. Super sick stuff as always, looking forward to the next one!

Im confused to this day how high charity survived both the chain reaction explosions and the halo ring firing, even though the ring was incomplete you would think both events would have destroyed it, but im honestly glad it survived for the story

Loved the Monty oum Easter eggs! Seeing “spartan kilo” punch through 3 flood forms like Tex punched through the reds n blues was amazing!

Dude, real props to Shapeshifter for just a second. Maddox's and Cutter's voices were fine, but he NAILED the Gravemind! It was a little too growly around some words, but the baritone and deep rumble that Gravemind had in 2 and wasn't present in Halo 3 just blew me away here

Whoever dubbed the voice of The Gravemind, they knocked it out of the park as far as getting close to the original goes. The Spartan's voicework was pretty good as well!

You've succeeded in two vital areas for me; firstly that your Spartan captures the more athletic and acrobatic style of the Halo Wars 2 Spartans which I love! The main series games always made Spartans seem pretty sluggish, and we don't talk about that fight scene in Halo 5...
Secondly, you made the flood DISGUSTING which is fantastic hahaha they looked so fleshy and those pulsating pods at the end were nasty hehe.
The Flood were also pretty scary and I admire how you built up to the Tank form's arrival. I think my constructive criticism is just to keep working on your combat scene cinematography but I think this is just personal taste. I liked your long shots so we could see what was happening, but personally, I don't like too many "impossible" camera moves where it flies around. Keep it grounded. With this in mind, I LOVED your first-person angles though which were very immersive.
I'm excited for more!

Also that Tank Form feels SOOOOO heavy, it definitely earns its name. It gives me chills paired up with that low base "bwaaa".

@@EpsilonXenos It definitely did, 5 spartans dying in a war that they couldnt have ever won. Defeat after defeat. How can you possibly think that Reach isnt as gritty as the animation? I think Reach is even grittier but thats because the animation is still in progress so we cant really know what will happen.
Used to be this gritty in 1,2 3. Graphics just weren't there. Easier for us to make flood look nasty in VFX when we do not need to worry about FPS. Only render times.
But old halo games had the atmosphere.
That flip over the rocket though.....beautiful. And the huge punch moments before, so satisfying. Well worth the wait!

No words. This is beautiful, the animation are so realistic, i loved the music, and i noticed it was in time with the movements of the spartan and the floods. I waited so much for this, almost a year, and it was worth every single second.
I could totally see the inspiration from red vs blue at 2:25. The way Maddox punches those 3 flood is exactly like how Tex punches Sarge, Simmons, and Tucker in a line
