We have not added a Halloween music extra. I'm sure we will at some point.

Can you use the locomotives on the regular controller too?

    • @BlueRailTrains
      @BlueRailTrains  Před 2 lety

You can use a regular transformer to power the track, but you need to keep it on full power when running the train.

    Hello,
I need help. I've bought this steam Loco 9447 from Amazon.
But, I'm facing lots of problems with it.
When I'm trying to run it on my DC track, sometimes its wheels are not moving. Sometimes it runs a bit for few inches then stopped. When all the sound tracks are running on my tab.
Lights are working perfectly through the app. But Loco isn't moving. Sometimes when I'm pushing the throttle upto 60 percent..... Suddenly Loco running in high speed through out the layout but sometimes not even moving a inch.
I'm operating my entire layout with two Hornby DC 12 volt controllers and my all DCC ready Hornby and Bachmann Locos are running smoothly.
But this Loco is making too much trouble. Even sometimes Bluetooth also disconnecting and tab screen showing.... Loco is not available.
I thought, the Loco was disputed. So I ask Amazon for replacement. They did it quickly. But replaced Loco also showing the same issues.
What should I do now? Can anybody help me?

Are you always keeping your Hornby controllers at full power when running the loco?

@@BlueRailTrains For other DCC Locos I maintain variable speeds.
But, only for this EZ app controlled steam Loco I keep the controller at its maximum speed from the beginning. Then I try to control the speed of Locomotive through the app. But, it's not working. Specifically when I'm trying to run the Loco in slow starting motion wheel are moving two to three centimeters then it stuck. Again I keep down the throttle of my tab screen and again keep it up again it moves few centimeters then stops suddenly. If I keep up my mobile app throttle suddenly upto 50 percent high then sometime Loco start to run smoothly till I stop it.
Somebody spoke me that it may be due to dust on track. So I cleaned the track with peco track cleaner then vigorously wiped the track with ethanol and earbud.
But, the result is same. 😒
      I'm now feeling so bad.
      Please help me.

@@pragmagic These locos are made by Bachmann. I own a few of them and they all run pretty nicely. It surprises me that you say you've had 2 and they both display the same problem (it almost makes me wonder if there is something funky in the power supply). If I were you, I would get a short section of isolated track with the power leads directly connected. Test a working bachmann loco on that section of track, and verify you can get it to run. Test the EZ App loco on the same section of track and see if it runs. If it doesn't, borrow another power supply and repeat the test. If you get exactly the same results with both power supplies, then I would say the EZ App loco is faulty (again, it is unusual to run into the same issue on two locos - given that these are generally dependable little trains). If the train is bad, Bachmann customer service is pretty responsive. They will help you make it right. I don't think we can troubleshoot it further on this CZcams thread. Best of luck.

This is exactly the scenario I encountered after I purchased an EZ App steam loco via Amazon. Same symptoms as yours so I sent it back; currently waiting on a replacement. One thing I’m going to do is not upgrade firmware until I thoroughly check the replacement loco. I have a diesel that has worked flawlessly but the steam loco has a different board, hoping it is not an inherent defect with this board type. Will update after I test replacement.
Ok, next day I received the replacement Alco 2-6-0 from Amazon and I have the same problem with random stops on DC (no DCC) while the app is still ‘chugging’ along. Symptoms slightly different when on firmware 3.21 vs 3.45 (app version 1.14). On 3.21 the loco and tender lights blink when random stop occurs and does not respond from app control panel until throttle off/on. On 3.45 the lights do not blink upon random stop and light button does not respond from control panel, but bell and whistle buttons do respond. Throttle off/on resets to normal operation until next random event occurs.
Changed to new piece of flex track and same problem occurs. Checked track voltage, max is 16.5, tried at lower voltage 13.5 but same problem. Using Bachmann #6605 transformer to supply DC track voltage.
My GP35 EZ-APP unit runs perfectly. Maybe a bad batch of Alcos? Very frustrating. Will attempt to contact Bachmann.
Next day: Spoke to Bachmann service department. Acknowledged problem, offered to replace with diesel. Indicated that the diesels seem to be more rugged. Mentioned that Alco boards could be more sensitive to static electricity depending on how they are handled or stored.

@@GM-fp2uz Thanks for your opinion. Infact here also occurred the same. The replaced one was also defective.
As I'm from India. Repeated replacement is quite expensive and problematic for me.
So, I was very disappointed and embarrassed on that time. Then I had done what was in my hand. Just opened up the Loco. Throw away the Bluetooth circuit board. And installed a good quality DCC decoder with sound. And now my Alco is running flawlessly. As meanwhile I've converted my layout to DCC from DC. You can see the result through this link m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2746286805454328&id=100002191077095 .
I'll never ever go for any kind of Bluetooth operated Locos anymore.
In my opinion, for a railroad diorama DC or DCC is the best.
