My daughter graduated in 2022. The whole time she was in high school they kept telling her that she needed to hurry and decide what college she was going to go to and what degree she was going to do. She would get mad every time anyone would ask her. She graduated and took a few months off. She decided to do apprenticeship program. She is working full-time and two nights a week she takes classes on learning to do HVAC. It's a 5 year program and when she finishes she will have no college debt. She already has a good paying job. They need to bring trades back and stop pushing college on kids all the time
Not to mention how negatively daycare impacts children. Daycare was designed as a last resort but now it has become the norm. Kids who end up in daycare develop behavior problems, adhd, depression, anxiety and mental illness. The conservative podcast from the Real Alex Clark did an interview with marriage and family expert, Suzanne Venker on the dangers of daycare and why moms should stay home with their children instead. That was so eye opening for me and I decided to quit my job after that.
Wow that’s amazing to hear that you watched that podcast and made a change. I shared it with a family member not too long ago who also has her kids in daycare, praying she’ll bring her kids home 🙏🏻

Ohh thank you for sharing the podcast recommendation! I worked in a daycare for six months and I told myself I would NEVER send my child there. I also grew up in one and have vivid memories of being sad as a young child, which developed further as I went through school.

I always wanted to be married and to have children. Most of my friends went to college but I stayed home and worked. It was while working that I met my husband. I turned 20 in February, he 21 in March and we married in April. In 2024 we will celebrate our 43rd anniversary. Three years into the marriage I came home full-time pregnant with our first baby. When our youngest went to an out of state to a trade school, I went back to work full-time. That job led me to get my real estate license and just last month I retired after 17 years selling and one year in the RE business. It wasn’t easy and but we made it work. I find myself now reevaluating what my life will look like and how I will develop a home economy from home. The Lord called me home so I am completely depending on his guidance to get us where he wants us to be.
My greatest encouragement to those wanting to come home but are afraid too is to live on less than the income coming in. Seems simple but it’s easy to get off track financially and that is something that will derail one’s efforts to be at home more than just about anything else.

I 100% agree with you to live off of one income from the beginning. I truly believe it's one of the wisest decisions my husband and I ever made. Even when my husband only made $12 an hour, we made it work. We ate at home and lived in a tiny 500 sq foot apartment. Any money I have ever made has been "extra" money for fun things or to go into our savings account. I know so many couples who didn't do this, and they want to have kids but have no idea how they are going to live off of one income because they are so used to the lifestyle of living on two.
Yes sister!!! I fell for the lies of feminism and went to college even tho I didn’t really want to; I just thought that was what everyone was “supposed” to do. Now that Jesus saved me, all I want is to embrace God’s beautiful role for us as women! His design is so much more fulfilling than any college degree or career! My daughter is in 2nd year of university. She desires to be married and wants babies now. She has started to buy baby clothes she has names picked out and she wants to home school her kids.

I went to nursing school, graduated, was confused about what I wanted in life and then went to school to become an English teacher. Guess what?! I'm a homemaker now! Everyone in high school focused on studying and career and I was pushed in the same direction. I LOVE being home with my babies and I definitely shouldn't have gone to uni.

Ahhh what a refreshing video to hear someone say the truth! As a 54 year old woman who has several degrees, my choice to stay home and tend to my husband, children and home has been the most rewarding. I too have been looked at as "stupid" among career woman but I do feel deep down they wish they could be home. I do believe most woman can be home, as you said it is just a look at finances and priorities. Please keep sharing your message for it is what our maker approves of.

And if more women stayed home, there would be a labor shortage and they would have to increase salaries to fill positions. Part of the reason wages aren't going up is because so many women joined the workforce. More competition for jobs leads to lower wages.
I didn’t finish my bachelors degree because of the cost, and still have student debt I am paying off from my time spent there. Now I desperately want to stay home as a wife, but have a full time job until we can pay off these debts and afford to have me at home. If I could do it all over, I would skip college all together.
I feel like God sent your videos to me. I am currently struggling so hard with fear about quitting my job and staying at home. My husband and I also don’t have kids yet but he has expressed a desire for me to stop working so he can dedicate more of his energy to excelling in his career. I was just debating on buying some courses about transitioning to one income but your videos made me realize I was shopping for permission, and your story about how you had to deal with the same insecurities and frustrations when you quit has made me feel more confident and empowered to step forward into the next step of God’a plan for me. I would encourage you to do it - especially you have also the support of your husband. You always can get back to a part time job. But you will find out fast what a blessing it is for you and your husband to have an ordered lifestyle. May God bless and guide you. ♡
Great video 🩷 I went to college for accounting and thankfully graduated debt free (we are big Dave Ramsey fans). I dont necessarily regret it as we will get our house paid off by 32 yrs old - I work remotely, can keep my home, be a helper to my husband, and keep in my feminine energy. However, I dont find it optimal for a wife to work - we've decided I will be a SAHM when God blesses us with little ones. I want a different path for our daughters. It is just accreditation. Actual important feminine education is- baking, cooking, sewing, knitting, sewing, household budgeting, cleaning, gardening, canning, biblical understanding, how to attract and more importantly *retain* a husband. These are just a few that I've spent my 20's working on, there's definitely plenty more.
What you say is so true. When I think back it all makes so much sense. I came out of school and did not know what to learn. I volunteered and did different internships to find out what I wanted to study. But it was so hard to choose a field. I liked cooking, baking, crafting, playing instruments, gardening. So what direction should I go? I ended up studying early childhood education because I thought this could best combine all things. In the kindergarden I could do all those things with the kids. I also went that route after a teacher told me I am so great with kids. Doing internships and later working in that field destroyed my passion completely. I ended up being burnt out and not knowing what to do. I ended up doing many different things till I met my husband and work with him at home now. I still had this urge to go out and find a job. Until some months ago God showed me the importance of homemaking through your videos and other channels. I got so much peace when I finally dropped the idea that I needed to work outside the home and create finances that way. Sadly my time in the kindergarden, teaching other peoples children destroyed so much in me. The thought of having my own children overwhelms me because of how burnt out I was from working with them. I slowly realise that working with 25 children all the same age, coming from all different backgrounds is not the same like having my own children that I could teach every single day for many years with godly values. God still continues to heal my heart from that time. If I never went to college and work in that area, I would not be with those overwhelming thoughts. Instead everything I was interested in makes total sense as a homemaker. Sometimes it feels like I lost so many years in continue learning those skills that would help me greatly now. Instead I followed the pressure of society to go study and have a job. A job that I do not practice anymore. Working in that area opened my eyes to how twisted everything is. Back in the days when I studied in Germany woman could give their children into a daycare with only 8 weeks old to continue their career. I felt so terrible to see those tiny babies surrounded with so many strangers, noise, other children. Away from the own mother for many hours. They simply do not get the care they need, especially with the lack of workers in that area. They are supposed to be at home with their mom and not with strangers who do not have the time and energy to care for them in the way they need it.
My sister was a kindergarten teacher as well and had a lot of the same struggles as you. She has told me that having her own children is completely different. It's still challenging of course, but they are yours. You can teach them and correct them and raise them according to your values. I pray that God continues to heal your heart and gives you peace about having children

I agree with you completely. People need to stop living life based on secular cultural norms. It causes debt, stress and a whole lot more. Just because the masses are doing it, does not make it the best thing to do. I went the college route and now wish I had not. Great video and information!
I had a full-ride scholarship in college. I now want to be a homemaker. The stress of having my foot in my industry even while being a homemaker is real. “What will all the people I networked with think” is also a fear. Very annoying sometimes, but I still count myself blessed. I continue to follow God’s Will, nonetheless.

Hi Kelli, this is such an important topic to consider and discuss. Thank you for bringing it up and sharing your views. I was very much pushed into going to college, with no idea what I wanted to do, I wanted a family, so why was I pushed into college when I wanted to be a mother? It really doesnt make any sense, it just just puts us, and our future family in debt, from something we never needed, or like you said, wasted the scholership money that someone else could have used. I do think young girls should get a job after high school until they meet their furure husband or until they are starting a family, I've learned so much from my early work, that didn't require a college degree. Thanks so much for bringing up this topic. It was a great video!
Loved this chat Kelli! I need to become more confident in saying I’m a homemaker. I usually say I’m a sahm but I feel like that only includes one part of what I do whereas homemaking encompasses everything. Not many people are familiar with homemaking but that’s a great opportunity for me to educate them. Pray for me!
My friend says she’s a “professional housewife” and that she’s worked enough and she’s okay with taking care of her husband and home, and in no way does it redefine her intelligence or capabilities. A woman should choose how to live her life. This is what feminism use to mean. Now it seems like feminism stands for whatever is contrary to traditional roles. It’s sad.
Exactly about trade schools. My son is going to. Trade school for welding… and in just 1 year he will be done and will have a job that pays better than mine (I’m a teacher). And it’s a career that he is interested in..

You know I never graduated from high school because I hated it sooooo much and I don't use the word hate, I just figured out very young that school is about reading books, your ability to retain the knowledge and learn from it. So why, and I mean why would I pay someone to tell me to read books and we give you a piece of paper. To me that is senseless,unless you like throwing away money. I've learned a lot through living, I know, I know it's controversial to actually listen to your elders for advice and knowledge, what I don't understand ,I do this crazy thing called research I read books and articles and talk to people I know very controversial. I have a thriving beautiful healthy family and a wonderful husband. I know I enjoyed elementary school and started to dislike school in middle school then grew into full on HATRED of high school. I couldn't do it, so I just took the stupid test to get a GED one time and passed. I still think it's useless. I've actually never had to show a paper that said I can read. It's incredibly frustrating to see these young people being told that a piece of paper is going to change your life. Guess what every employer I've ever heard of always asks is about your experience... Shouldn't we tell these young people that instead of getting a piece of paper will change your life maybe you should get some experience first.
You have gained such wisdom! I’m so glad you’re sharing it. I needed to hear it from you. I encouraged my oldest daughter to go to college and she ended up with debt. She’s married now and her husband works very hard to pay the school loans and provide for their family (they have 4 children) she’s a homemaker and she home educates.
I didn’t finish college in the late 80’s because I wanted to get married and start a family so I avoided all the debt. I have a 14 yr old daughter (youngest) who is being told daily that she must go to college, I don’t even know where I will begin to undo that way of thinking but by Gods grace she will embrace Gods way.
I myself went back to work for 4 years after my youngest children went to school and I hated it. I had no time for anything because I was exhausted at the end of each day. I stopped cooking from scratch and felt we deserved expensive vacations to make up for my hours at work.
I’m 55 and I am back to being a homemaker with much sacrifice and I feel like I’m finding myself again.

I have a BA and MS and now my career is home and helping my husband. Here’s what I learned from college: how to write a paper well, how to be a socialist, how to question my faith and how to go into debt. Definitely not worth it. Thank God my faith was strong. I went to a private baptist university and I was targeted any time I tried to express personal faith-parents need to realize even expensive schools that are so called Christian, are heavily staffed by liberal socialist professors with agendas.

I think I’m roughly the same age as you… this resonates with me so much!!! I thank you for speaking the truth when there are so many people who may disagree and not see it all for what it really is. I am blessed to be where I am right now but if I could go back, I would be much more intentional about my life choices which includes college. Sadly, my parents ingrained in me from the start that college was necessary. Funny thing is, they think differently now! I am no longer using my degree and when I was using it, I was miserable in the career path I chose. Thank you so much for your vulnerability with this topic! Also love how you said women can and should be educated! Yes I did go the college route and today think it was probably a waste lol but I did get a degree in Elementary Education and now homeschool my own children so I could say I am using it lol! I love being home and raising my children.
During the Great Depression wives and moms would sell baked goods like bread, pies, and cupcakes to help supplement their family income. Women had to be the home manager. They had to be smart with their resources. Women who stay at home should have management skills. Why?
Finances - Women need to be able to balance the family budget.
Cooking - We must be able yo put a healthy and tasty meal on the table. We should know how to balance flavors.
First Aid - We have to know how to clean a wound and when to seek medical assistance in order for healing.
Human Resources - We must know how to manage people. We have to know to resolve conflict between children, which everyone feels like they've been heard and understood.
Kelli, I could go on for hours. The bottom line is the stay at home mom and wife is far smarter than a college educated woman. Yes, women need to know a skill to help supplement their families' income as women in the Great Depression did.

Next time you should say you are continually studying agriculture science with a focus on sustainability, nutrition and food science, economics with a focus on personal and local business, herbal medicine, and fine arts. Oh yeah and interior design. 😅 all about branding. 😉😆
I got my major in Fine Arts with the intent of getting a teaching degree. I was taught how to make abstract art (which is not art) and hated it. I wanted to learn actual painting skills. I've taught myself more about art, technique and composition, since being a homemaker than I ever learned with my 100k art degree. What a time to be alive.

AND I love that you said abstract art is not art- made me laugh. We knew someone that smeared a bunch of paint on a canvas but called it prophetic art, since they prayed while doing it, and then sold them for premium prices... and people actually bought them, my mind was blown.

I am a homemaker now, but I did go to . I have to say for me college was a beautiful experience where I really got close to the Lord. I didn't grow up going to church, but I did go to church camps and for short stints would go with friends to their churches. In college, I got really involved in a beautiful college ministry and I learned and grew so much in my faith during those three years. I actually met my husband because I was in that college ministry. His sister was in my Bible study and she introduced us.
I do not think college is for everyone, but I have to say I am thankful that I have a degree just in case anything ever happens to my husband. I pray for his health and safety, of course, but none of us are promised tomorrow. I am thankful that I do have that degree to fall back on just in case he becomes disabled and cannot work or if he passes away and I need to be able to support myself financially. I hope I never ever have to use my degree and can be a homemaker for the rest of my life because I love being a helpmeet to my husband and I have never desired a career. I used to joke that I was going to college to earn my MRS degree lol. It really was a back up in case God's will for my life either didn't include marriage or didn't include marriage until I was older. I do know that there are other avenues women can take other than college if they need to support their family should tragedy occur.

The truth of the matter is as lovely as this lifestyle, not everyone can afford it ( I live in Zimbabwe) and also there is no difference between the divorce rate in Christian marriages and non-Christian marriages it's still 50%. If being a homemaker is someone's God-given desire then please go for it. Nevertheless, it is important that you have a skill that you can monetize to ensure that if worst comes to worst you can take care of yourself and your children. I think this is the responsible thing to do.

Could you show us how you make salves?
I don’t think a woman who goes to school on scholarship is obligated to use the degree. Personally, all of my college is payed by scholarships that are merit based (which means that anyone who meets the qualifications will also receive the money and I am not stealing it from someone who would use it better.) but I’m getting a degree that will allow me to work from home is the economy becomes bad enough that my husband asks me too, or if something were to happen to him rinderkng him unable to provide. Additionally, I am learning many things that can be implemented in my maintaining of our home. Not all of the things I’m learning, of course, but a significant portion.

There has always been women who were healers and midwives, and they didn't go to college. Saying that if you think women are better served by and able to serve better by not going to college doesn't add up to not going to women healers now. No one is saying women can't go to college, just that that is not something she should be pushed into by indoctrination of secular society.

Also, what about girls not getting a job? What about, after high school, girls staying home to learn more homemaking skills from their mothers? They could then be a blessing to other mothers in their church and help mothers with their children?

Yes, I did the Art and Science of Herbalism course by Rosemary Gladstar. However, it has gone WAY up in price since I bought it and I do not recommend it. I recommend Dawn Combs book Heal Local and she goes through all the basics of herbalism, how to make tinctures, oils, salves, recipes for everyday uses. It is so wonderful!

Hi! I took Rosemary Gladstars "Art and Science of Herbalism" Although I just recently saw they have done a major price increase. When I bought mine, I got the online and booklet course combined for $245. That's why I recommend books rather than the course because now it looks to be $500+ and I don't think that's worth it!

Hi, that was 15 years ago, at the time I was happy to go to college. These are my opinions as of now, and my parents are and always have been very supportive of me.
We need a whole video just on course grifters lol! We have spoken about a certain one on instagram together before, thankfully I got my money back from her when I complained. Of course I was immediately removed from the Facebook group long before I was payed back lol. It got kinda ugly and she tried to make me feel guilty for getting my money back but I don’t care. 90% of those courses are a scam and the one I’m talking about definitely is.
Maybe I shouldn’t use names but someone that has been disheartening is Solly (I think that’s her name I don’t remember because I deleted instagram) but she has been advertising a course on how to “make courses” from home to provide a income. 🙃🤦♀️ the way she talks about seems to go against everything she’s said previously
Hannah, for real!! And I love hearing the follow up from our last conversation- that was so wise to ask for a refund, I didn't even think of that!! It was that experience, that fully confirmed that most people use the course platform as a way of making money off of people, without adding the value that they *guarantee*
I also saw the side hustle course that you mentioned back when I was on instagram... pay us a lot of money, so that this becomes our main income, but also so you can be a homemaker........
Women can be successful in the business world and still be a good wife and mother. We all need to follow our own paths without being made to feel that our husbands are lacking since they aren’t able to support their family
Some of us are from low-income backgrounds and college is very useful for becoming conversant in subjects beyond our little world.
I would not go into debt to becomes a "conversant in subjects". I have read and listened to learn things, on my own, I would never of known otherwise. 😊
@vintagebeliever5023 I get it, but quite often we don't know what we don't know. And how do you receive feedback? Who is more likely to be able to defend their positions, someone who listens to audiobooks on Kindle or someone who writes papers to be ripped apart by somebody more educated? Plus there are many, many books you can only access from the school libraries.
As someone who was very low-income, I didn’t go to college because I couldn’t afford it. Im now a homemaker and my husband provides and I am very satisfied. I can’t afford to go into debt just so I can converse better. Besides, there are libraries which serve the same purpose.
I have to say I agree with most of what you are saying but some may see it as can coming from a place of privilege and that may not be entirely false.
