My hope in sharing a bit of my testimony is to encourage you to ask God for direction in your life and see how He opens doors for you! We don't have to do what popular culture tells you to do, and often following God will lead to you be counter cultural- fearing Him, not man. Also, I'm sharing my story to give testimony that if God can do it for me, He can do it for you- there's no formula, don't just decide to go to a mission school and travel to another country in hopes of meeting your husband- seek the Lord. Make a list of 5 options that excited you and begin praying about those things.

No college/university degree. I've never even stepped foot in one of those schools. I worked at a bank for 10 years, right after high school. For the past 2 years, I've been an accountant for the state I live in. This is what I will do until God blesses me with kids ❤ Trust Him in all you do 🙏

Thank you. All I ever wanted was to be a wife and mother. I was encouraged to attend college "just in case," but I didn't finish because I did not want a career. I was sure I would marry young and it would be wasted. As it turns out, I did not marry until I was 30 or have children until i was 34. I often regretted not finishing school, thinking everyone had been right, because living expenses were so high, and my income was so low. This video gave me clarity that it wasn't my lack of finishing college that made things hard. It was my lack of diligently seeking the Lord and his direction at that time in my life. He still directed my path, but the journey was rough because I was not trusting Him. I so enjoy and appreciate your content. ❤ Blessings to you and Scott.

I too wanted to marry young but am almost 31 and still very single. I think we do need to remind women that just because they want to marry young doesn't mean that it will happen. It is not as simple as want to be married immediately meet someone who likes you enough to want to get to know you as a person let alone go on a date, go on a second date, start dating, propose and marry you. And there is nothing wrong with you if you didn't marry young (God's plan is different for everyone). I decided to get degrees and have a career while single (because I personally wanted to, everyone is different) but was financially smart about it going to community college for 2.5 years because I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do with my life and randomly picking a major and going to a university is not the way to go. You should have a plan before going to college.

The whole “if you don’t go to college you will have to work at Burger King” is totally a public school saying. I clearly remember hearing that in high school from the guidance counselors, teachers, and parents of overachievers. Don’t listen to people making those ignorant statements that can’t think past the “system”.
I went to college. I simultaneously worked my way up to being a manager at a gymnastics franchise by the time I was 20, before having a degree (so there goes the Burger King assumption).
I got my Bachelors in Education. I worked at a public school my first year, it was horrible. Bloody fights in my classroom and bomb threats. I transferred to a private school for the next 4 years of my teaching career and only 20% of the teachers there had an actual degree!! I was in all this debt and was not making the money to compensate. I could have just stayed a manager or gone right into teaching without wasting so much time and money at a university. Plus, I was stressed trying to work and attend full time classes at the university. SO stressed.
It was not worth it. It was all because I was told that was what I was “supposed” to do. But I ended up leaving teaching after 5 years and staying at home with my babies. Now THAT has been totally worth it! I homeschool my 3 kids now, my husband started his own business, and our family has a homestead in the country.

This is exactly what I needed to hear, the Lord is so gracious to lead me to this!! I just graduated high school and am trying to navigate where the Lord wants me to be. I am not going to college as that is not where God has called me but I'm taking small steps letting Him lead and sometimes it can be quite difficult to know what He wills for my life. Since the beginning of this year, I told the Lord that I would pray for my future husband every day and I have stuck with it. Your story is so encouraging as that's not the advice I normally hear! I am so thankful that someone else had the same mindset and the Lord worked all things together for good (and to bring glory to His name) in your life. Thank you so much for sharing, I am truly encouraged!

I have discovered your videos, which are all testimonies. They brighten my day! Hearing this beautiful story reminded me about my mother, who has passed. She lived with the beautiful testimony of God's miraculous healing of stage 4 Hodgkins Disease when she gave up the medications and surrendered to God. God allowed her, in her 20s, to not only live and finish the raising of her children but also to wonderfully grandparent her grandchildren. In her late 60s, bladder cancer was diagnosed. When the doctor told her its progress would take her life, she confidently responded with, "I will not ask God for one day more. I asked him for 15 years to raise the children He had given me, and He blessed me much more than I even asked." We can have faith through trusting in God that He will direct our steps. Happy steps along the way, then also timing our death in His perfect time. I miss her so much but am thankful for the godly mom she was to me.

We need to trust and believe God's design and not try to make excuses! If a doctor says "exercise is essential for health", we don't say, "but what about those who physically can't do that?". We acknowledge that everyone needs to work through their own situations, but it still stands true that exercise is important. Same for God's design for biblical marriage, finances, education, etc. Exceptions don't negate the rule!

At 52, I am looking around and seeing how culture pressures young women to have a career. It's disgusting. For the young women who see this, keep in mind that high schools have a duo enrollment with local community colleges. You get an education without the student loans. Next is vocational schools. Take courses like finance or nutrition counseling. These courses will assist you in your role as homemaking and/or mom. Also, schools offered classes in cooking, fashion design, and decorating. Again, these are great classes that will help you in your future as a wife and mom. If needed, they could help you supplement your family income.
I don't know what college you went to. Socialism doesn't brainwash people. People brainwash people. I grew up hearing this same rhetoric about Socialism. Over the last nine years, I have learned that everything I was told was brainwashing. Public school is for brainwashing. It was created by King Frederick II. He created public schools to brainwash future soldiers. This way, the soldier would be obedient to the king. Not God.

Socialism is all about taking God out of society. It is also all about re-distributing wealth away from the people who earned it and spreading it out among people who didn't. It's also about trying to make ambitious, motivated people feel guilty for being ambitious and motivated, and making people who are not ambitious, believe they are victims. Socialism teaches that the individual matters less than the "whole". And that NEVER ends well.

Thank you for this thoughtful response. Really enjoyed hearing what you had to say. Was encouraging to hear about God’s faithfulness in your life. And thank you for acknowledging that not all Christian women are in the same position and some may need to pursue different paths. God definitely is faithful in directing our steps and it is so important that we yield to Him and not our culture.
I went to college and it was a wonderful experience for me, but I know that’s not the case for everyone. I find it really sad that sooo many young Christian women feel a strong call to motherhood and homemaking but feel pressured into careers instead. There definitely needs to be more encouragement and support for these women.

Like you have said everyone's life circumstances are different. I think sometimes as Christians we want to make an ideal lifestyle that serves God instead of serving God with our life. I am a stay at home mom of soon to be 4 and I'm a wife. I am restarting WGU for a B.S. in Cybersecurity, not for me to go out and find a job, but to work along side my husband within the business that he wants to start. This school is not Christian, but is online, comprehensive based, and this degree includes 15 third party cybersecurity certificates within the curriculum. Depending on time I could potentially finish the degree in 1 year, which would cost less than buying the certificates on our own. It might take me longer and that's ok. At least this will better serve my husband because he has asked me to help him with cybersecurity within his business and serve my family by eventually having a family business instead of my husband working outside the home.

I’ve been blessed as well with God’s grace in my life When I was in high school I was totally depressed. I did not want to be there. Finally at 17 my parents agreed for me to leave school. I felt I was wasting my time. I wanted to be in the “real world”. Learn life by living it. I was hired at a clothing shop this was in Argentina. Story short. I ended up coming to the US for vacation and the opportunity came up for me to stay. Crazy non coincidences 😄 just kept happening. I’ve met the love of my life in this country we’ve been married now for 25 years and have 2 teenage daughters. This is from a girl who always said, no I do not want to be married. No I don’t think this is the life for me to be married. How little I knew myself! I love being a wife a homemaker a mom. I’ve changed so much. god has changed me through love. But I do have to say just like you were saying I’ve always trusted God and surrendered. Many times what , who we think we want is just not it. By letting go and letting God our life come and may turn into a fairytale. God is so good❣️ You are a breath of fresh air. May God keep blessing you and your husband.

I want to add that I always find people tell me how “lucky” I’ve been in my life but just like your story where we can clearly see you were in what I call “active prayer”. God say Knock and the door will open.Ask and you shall receive. Most people don’t realize WE have to take the initiative. God didn’t say just wait, do nothing and I’ll give you everything. This seems to be something people struggle with. In my opinion, and it seems this is what you’ve done as well, took the first step. Always praying and asking for God’s guidance. This is the beauty of having a relationship with God

Coffee talk with Kelli is great. Really appreciate you sharing, especially the cooking mishaps. We've all been there. Our civil discourse doesn't help when advising women not to attend college is the same as saying they shouldn't be taught to read, or that not having a college degree means they are uneducated. I first heard your story about meeting Scott on your other channel. It was so fun hearing more detail about it here. One thing I noticed is that it helps to know some people and network. Love hearing this. Just turned 31 and have deeply desired marriage since I was 20. It’s been 11 years of praying, waiting and more praying. I’ve been told it’s almost impossible to meet someone past 30 because “all the good men married in their twenties.” I know that’s not true. Love seeing older Christian women get married for the first time (even widows finding love for the second time.) Because I know that it means it’s not hopeless and God’s plan for everyone is different and sometimes despite a deep desire God makes you wait (maybe to learn to trust him and patience). Or he needed to use your singleness for something first.

Just a quick question - How would you define Biblical femininity? I often hear it talked about in vague terms in Christian circles (often in relation to motherhood/homemaking) and I'm curious what "Biblical femininity" means to you? Thanks :)

    • @rachelelaine7094
      @rachelelaine7094 Před 2 měsíci +1

Single in my 30s (not by choice) and I would define biblical femininity the way that Edith Stein did (who was unmarried and a nun). That you don't have to be married or have children to be a biblical feminine woman. You could married, you could join a religious order, you could do missionary work, you could have a career. It is more how you go about your vocation and remembering that men and women are different.
Edith Stein said, "The world doesn't need what women have, it needs what women are." Don't stop being a woman (soft, kindhearted, maternal). I believe that all women are maternal (even if they never have children of their own) and called to be mothers (or spiritual mothers if they never have children.)
Some of my favorite quotes of hers are:
"Every profession in which woman’s soul comes into its own and which can be formed by woman’s soul is an authentic woman’s profession."
“Each woman who lives in the light of eternity can fulfill her vocation, no matter if it is in marriage, in a religious order, or in a worldly profession.”
"The soul of woman must be expansive and open to all human beings, it must be quiet so that no small weak flame will be extinguished by stormy winds; warm so as not to benumb fragile buds … empty of itself, in order that extraneous life may have room in it; finally, mistress of itself and also of its body, so that the entire person is readily at the disposal of every call."

Really enjoyed reading them.

I never get tired hearing about how God worked in both your lives to bring you together. Such a good story. 🤍
