Topic by Diana: Imaginary Legislation: Imagine that the UN council is looking for your input in order to develop laws that will help support the LGBT community worldwide. Think of one law you would like to add to the package. Why do you think this is important.
This video discusses the possible challenges of implementing GLBT laws on a global scale. Every letter of the GLBT acronym has specific needs, that may be difficult to ascertain in one fell swoop of legislation. With this being said, I explore implementing ' human rights ' legislation as an alternative. But, if I must choose one law ( for the sake of being a team player ) I would choose anti-hatecrime legislation. Simply, our lives must be protected physically if we are to be given a fighting chance. We must be alive, to explore the nuances of Freedom.
This is a great topic because it encourages discussion! Discussions like these have potential to shape the world at large. So important, MiddleDumplins!

Its a good topic, I'm not sure what I would do with it either. But your are right, its hard to exercise your rights if you dead.
I don't know what I'd do with this topic! I think you handled it nicely. Alas, even here in the good ole U-S of A, LGBTQIA people still enjoy discrimination, misogyny, violence and even death simply for being who they are. Anyone who's ever even tried to transition knows that the hoops are long and arduous on the path to uncovering our true selves. Couple that with living in an inherently misogynistic beauty culture and you've got a recipe for trouble. We have it SO MUCH better than the rest of the world... I like your take that not killing us is really where we need to start world wide it seems so obvious that it's shocking to see that it may be necessary in some places around the world for an external mandate. Anyhoo, thank you, I look forward to your posts.
Nothings perfect. T-life will always be a challenge, if for nothing else, the potential physical alterations. Until the world catches up, we still have each other! And that's no kick in the pants :)
