My daughter did something similar to me when she was a freshman in college. Her other friends had planned to play the same joke on their parents but after my response they decided not to.
Because I educated my daughter she is a college graduate, with a good job, and still a virgin waiting on God for her godly husband. Just because you don't believe in God doesn't make Him not real. Everyone has a belief system of some kind, even if it's just believing in their job, money, looks, or themselves.
