In this episode of 'In An African Home' African dad finally says yes to Cliff going to a party. However, things don't turn out the way Cliff hoped. Outro Song: Olatunji - Oh Yay (Afroscoa)
haha. I remember when I asked my dad to go to a sleep over. his answer "Don't you have a bed here? why do you have to go to another person's house and sleep?"
I’m also Nigerian and I know how it feels when you have strict Nigerian parent’s. But in the end I love them. Ha this video is so funny, keep up the good work Clifford.
Guess what? This happens more often than you think in African American homes as well. Especially with father and daughters. School, church, and public library is our routine until we're married. Lol. However- I am grateful for my dad's discipline, wisdom, and protection. It helped me avoid many deterrents and pitfalls.
TiffanyIce Msp I know the pain in that one boy. After a while I just used to never ask her cause whats the use and then the part where amnesia kicks in when they FINALLY SAY YES! Then close to the day, they wanna act like nothing eva happened, and that crushing every last hope .Ever.
this is so true! 😂 im South African and my dad is exactly the same... i would tell him that im going somewhere a week before and on the day of the event he like "where you going" "who said you can go" ....
Me: can I visit my friend tomorrow😊 Mum: ok ask your dad Dad: OK don't be late mum:, why can't your friend visit you 😕 Me: she do visit me all the time can I just go just this first and last time 😐 Mom: before I open my eyes if you don't go and read your book your mates are already in 100L you are here visiting friends (hissing)😕 nonsense Me: murmur😢 and go back to my room
I felt the disappointment with Criff, it made me sad too... lol it was like i was reliving my teenage years while watching this.... The down side to this is, now as a grown up, I am too used to staying home. Sad
+Diweni Maureen --So true Diweni, am also like that, am worried about my kids, i really want to raise them well, i find myself saying the exact things my parents said..my husband thinks am paranoid sometimes, i refused my daughter to have a sleep over, it just didn't sit well with me..and still now, it's a No No..Sad
The struggle is too real, I never had any type of freedom until I went away for college and now that I graduated and moved back home with my parents it feels like I'm under house arrest 24/7
You and me both my brother I didn't really experience my first real party till my freshman ear in college I am a junior now and every time I go to a party I still look over my shoulder to make sure my mother isn't there😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hahaha :D .. this brought back some painful memories that made me crack laughing :D :D Me: Dad, can I go to my best friend's wedding "in 3 months" ? Dad: Let me see...remind me 2 weeks before the wedding Me : Dad, just reminding you, my friend's wedding is in 2 weeks, ok? Dad: hmm... where will it be? who is going?" how will you go? till what time you'll stay? (after answering him all the questions: " explaining who are the people that are going & what they do/study & what their parents do & where they are from) .... ok Me (1 day before the wedding): Dad, I'm going tomorrow to the wedding...don't worry I wont be late Dad: hmmm... No you won't go Me: Why?!!!!! Dad: I don't feel like it ... I have a feeling that tells me that you should not go.
I know but I mean, the dude's probably about 18 or 19, he should stand his ground he's an adult. It's the first thing you want to do when you're 18 or older.
Haha! When I was younger my mum agreed to let my sister and I go to a party (the shock fr!), even bought us new clothes, then the moment we about to get ready it's _"Ah ah, where are you going?"_ .
Whoopdewhoo The lesson is never get too excited, if you do they must stop you from going, act like it's going to be a boring party. Dont even wear your makeup until you get there.
So true😂😂😂....ain't easy to live in an African home. All dresses bought for u are either for church, school or for living in the house. No room for party dresses
my parents followed me to the party i went to and were watching me the whole time. they were the only parents there and when my friends went off somewhere they told me i couldn't go with them :( when i went to college it took me a while to realise that i could go to parties alone without their permission too
You sure did make my day...I somehow stumbled across your page when I was having the worst day of my life n you brought smiles n some childhood memories🤣🤣🤣 I think my daughter would probably say the same about me( if you were to asked her), though I grew up in the US....
Wow I know I am two years late but to hear my country music playing at the end of your video gives me pleasure day 3 of binge watching your videos keep me smiling no wait laughing. Caribbean parents are very much like African parents I could not even talk about a boy friend or even have one until I was 18 😂😂😂
Dïyå Ålkãliñè My Father has gotten pissed off at my for that. Like nearly completely lost his crap (he has before) 😫😞 Dad: Eh. Esuse me Me: Yes daddy Dad: Did you not forget sometin Me: Umm Dad: Why do you not greet me? Am I not your father? Did I not put you here? Why do you not say hello to me right now . My Gawd. This girl! What is this? Foolish Me: I'm sorry father, Hello daddy how are you Dad: Good. Much better because decided to ask me how I am. (My younger 5 half brothers and sisters run to my dad) Look at this childran they run to greet their father! Me and my (full) brother :yes dad sorry Dad: And this boy is more interested in this show. AAAAdventure time then greeting me. Me! His own father? Who are these children? Where did come from? My Gawd Hey. You have really upset me. Get out from there. I'm thinking well goodbye world in case I die tonight 😂 😞 Funny ish now was scary as hell then!
This was HILLARIOUS! My stomach hurts from laughing. I'm glad I found your channel by accident. African homes seem to be similar to Latino homes. You have great dance moves. I loooove when "the father" makes his sudden appearance. 👏🏽 I'm a new follower of your channel. God bless you 🤗👍🏾
Just whine, I didn't but I asked my mom and she said yes. My dad said no, I added water on my face to make it look like i'd cri. My mom defended me. Thx mom, and dad. I'm still in 5th grade, never to mature to cri
Ey man, awesome video! I got Somali parents and they're just like this! They usually won't let me hang out with my buds. But when they do, I get over excited. But what I leanred from experience, is to not talk too much about it. They kinda have this fun detector, so if ya go overboard... They won't let you. But the problem is that if you barely talk about it. They'll act like they forgot. Never get into a fight with them, because than the "this is not your home anymore if you go" card will be picked up LMFAO XD
My parents straight up catch amnesia when I tell them I am going to stuff as if I hadn't told them weeks in advance, and reminded them everyday since then.
Kid at age 5: Dad can I have that bicycle? Dad: Yeah, soon, soon. 20 years later: Dad I just crashed my car.....this is because when I was small, you 'forgot' to buy me a bicycle and give me staring lessons like all the other kids. 😈 Now look at them and look at me😖😖😖😖
one time I asked my dad if I could go to a party he said yes and after that when the day came I got ready and then I told him that I was going to the party he was like excuse me don't you have a bed here don't don't you have clothes here and he says get yourself into bed and I was very sad
Clif, you are so damn clever! It took me about 4 days to finally realize that you and your dad are one and the same person! Your videos are sooo good, that I didn't realize at first that you were playing his part too! I LOVE the accent you do for him, the lower tone voice, it is so convincing, you had me fooled for all of this time! You are so talented!!!!!!!! I really REALLY thought these videos were you and your dad. I kept wondering HOW you and your dad looked so much the same, haha, you really had me fooled!! You are great! I love your videos. I'm a new subscriber and a big, new fan now. Thanks

I will never forget it.

In African home discipline is the key, my parents used to say "if your house or home did not put you out for sale the streets will not buy you." In another word, the training you gets growing up at home or where ever you was raised is what you will display to the public or where ever you go. They used STREETS in place of WHERE EVER YOU GO or for PUBLIC. Thanks for the video.
