American Truck Simulator - Pete 389/Road Grinder

- Hauling a heavy load today. 80,000lb Road Grinder is whats on the trailer and I think I found what could be the limit for the Cummins N14 600 and the Eaton 13 speed I currently have. But The 389 survives the trip and so does the load.

It’s been a long time since this has been posted but I operate one of these. Iv loaded and actually rode on a mill while the truck was driving to the next set up. Pretty badass to see this. Iv done this scenario in real hundreds of times. Minus the driving of the truck

The issue isn't the truck not having enough power, the issue I feel is the way you are shifting the gears your starting in 2nd when you should be in LL which will get you going a little faster in lower gears!! Just a suggestion not hating just wanna help your channel great content!!!

i use the 389 with the 840hp c15 for the 176k train load it does fine :) strong pull up hill unless its long up hill
the machine is called a Miller it takes up the asphalt so they can lay down new asphalt for the new role

It's called a milling machine. I haul equipment for a paving company in Virginia and we use one damn near everyday

tri axle and an engine over 700hp will do good for heavy hauls my peterbilt 389 is tri axle regardless with 845 hp isx
Where'd you find the ISX that high? Only thing I'm showing is the Cat at 840.
+Daniel Perry maybe he tweaked it from 845 to 840 from what i last saw but i rock a 700 cummings now cus it sounds better, but i was using 840hp for ultra heavy loads and hills
I deactivated vipers from the mod manager and went into the dealer and it was gone reactivated it and it was back, It wasn't called vipers just a 72 sleeper. I had a mod before that was the same name thats what got me messed up thanks for youe help.
the truck pulls fine the load weight 85000 pounds plus the weight of the trailer how fast do you want to take off you pull it over size
The mod i had was a peterbilt 389 unibilt 72 inch low roof sleeper. I deleted it from my mods folder it does not show in the mod manager but it does in the pete dealer. but vipers shows in the mod manager but not in the dealer
I never heard of the 389 unibilt 72 inch sleeper mod.. But deactivate Vipers 389 in your manager and see what happens.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am really thinking about getting into the truck simulations games but looks at times to be difficult to get set up. I showed my wife this and she said that If i get this game I will never see me and she will have to get a standby husband. My reply was of course just joking was. " Let me know how that works out for you." So basically after that I was talking to myself. I have always wanted to drive a truck since I was little and this will probably be the closest I will get.
It's not hard to set up at all. Plenty of videos on CZcams showing how to setup TrackIR and steering wheels. If one takes their time,it's all pretty simple. Plus the head tracker is a one time thing. Install,put on the reflectors (on brim of a hat) and then set a button (F12 for me) to use for a recenter so if the camera is not in line correctly,I just hit F12 and it recenters it.
Try to run with the Jake break on
What wheel are you using to play ATS? I'm still currently using the keyboard, which sucks, due to the fact I don't know what wheel and shifter to get
+Scott Lindberg I have a G29 wheel and shifter. I started with a Thrustmaster T80 which wasn't great but worked. I know the G27 is still very popular with people as well.

+KALEB “kaleb33497” MARCHANT You're right and I've added that but there is a issue with this 389 mod that causes the truck to fall thru the map. I was just recording a video with the drop axle and when I got to Vegas,I fell thru the map 3 times. Axle up or down,didn't matter. I thought the issue was fixed seeing I haven't heard anything about it in awhile but I guess it wasn't lol. So now I have to remove it from the truck.

I need your help Steam forum cant get an answer, I deleted a mod for a Pete 389 unibilt but it still keeps showing in the dealer. It is not in the mod manager or my mods folder. I also subscribed to vipers 389 on steam its in the mod manager but does not show in the dealer.
What 389 mod did you delete?
If a mod is not activated in the mods manager. Then it will not show up in game. But if you have the Steam version of Viper's 389 activated,then the 389 you are seeing (besides the SCS version) is Vipers.

Nope,the 389 comes with it's own engine sounds. Im sure there is something out there mod wise that will add or change the sounds but I like what they have built in so far.
Do enjoy your videos ... But on this particular one, CZcams keeps stopping. I have refreshed the page 3 times, and still stops and won't resume, just the spinner running in the middle.

I would suggest lowering your video settings to see if that helps any.

Don't know if it is just my game, but the ai cars have gotten dumber! Took a load from LA to Phoenix, and literally had two left lane darts, trying to not miss the exit. Seeing the AI now, swerves right lane, and center lane, before the exits...... almost getting too real......

Because this game isn't on the Google play store. Plus the video here is modded so the truck and trailer did not come with the game. I added them in.
