The only positive thing from Stroll being in F1 may be that the FIA will realise what shit of the system it is if Stroll can be for so many years in F1.
If the FIA took Ferrari's advice and made the guilty party pay for their collisions, Lance would have bankrupted AMR by now and they'd have no choice but to disqualify him as a hazard to the team and others. Daddy Stroll would certainly feel very differently if he had to pay for everyone's repair bill and not only Junior's. It's unreasonable that Junior can wipe out half the field and not be held accountable for that.

Lance also got into F1 because his dad bought prema racing, put f1 parts on his f3 car, had team orders in place to make sure that he beat his teammate, and bought an sim that was light year better than the rest of the field had access to. If you think lance didn’t buy his drive then you either need to do your homework.
@@prospects427 read the comment I replied to. Lawrence Stroll didn’t buy Williams. His sponsorship money likely had a big impact on them taking Lance on from F3, but he did not buy the team. Lance also dragged that shitty Williams to a podium. I don’t give a shit about team orders, he had that Williams out in front for part of that race and team orders did not do that. I wanted the previous commenter to admit that Lance was in F1 prior to Lawrence buying Force India. (Lance also did a decent job with that car.)
Bitch and moan about money all you want but Motorsport is fucking expensive. Many of the drivers come from wealthy backgrounds or have a lot of wealthy backers or they never would have made it. I compete in a sport (at the amateur level) where money is a massive, massive factor in success. You know what I don’t bitch about constantly? I went against the usual F1 grain all along, always thought Lance got way too much heat for absolutely no reason or because of other drivers scandalous events leading to a F1 contract, he actually did the walk, I’m a big fan of the Strolls I admire his father and I can only wish them both success, very enjoyable content, my first time and def with be back for more, cheers

Spoiler Alert: super rich father.
Look, Lance's seat was bought. His dad paid a lot for it as an 18th birthday gift. Not saying he's the worst driver ever in F1 or that he is the worst driver on the grid but no one with his pre-F1 resume' gets an F1 seat much less at 18 without even driving in F2. Yes, Max went from F3 straight to F1 but Max was a gigga chad driver and one of the greatest talents ever in Motorsports which was apparent from Karting. Lance is no where and never was at Max's level. This is probably actually hurt his career. Had he spent three years in F2 or until he won a championship and then entered F1 at 22 or 23 he might have stood a chance as a decent top team second seat driver talent and skill wise. But he got thrown into the deep end and is still doggy paddling after 7 seasons. His performance this season against Alonso is embarrassing.

It's crazy that people just dismiss him because he's from a mega rich background. Yes, his money enabled his career (and this is true for 99% of guys who get to F1), but he's clearly put the hours in and has accomplished a lot in his own right.
That money in his background really doesn't show in this interview. Just a normal canadian driver working it through the different experiences in racing, such an underrated driver who knows the cars just as well as any other driver.

I don't think any type of hate towards him is deserved, but I do think criticism on the race track is very much deserved, there are other drivers more deserving of his seat and even if we stop talking about who deserves a seat, he stills crashes and makes mistakes regularly around the track, he hasn't shown any type of improvement since he's been beaten by all his teammates in recent years.
Look at it from this perspective: You've clicked on and (presumably) watched a 90 minute video where he discusses a bunch of stuff about his life and career so far. You decided to comment on the video, and you immediately jumped to 'he doesnt deserve his seat'. You didn't mention anything else about the content of this video. This is basically modern F1 culture in a nutshell. Any video on youtube he appears in gets a bunch of comments like this, regardless of the topic of the video. I think because its a sport, people forget that this is his job. Critizise his driving all you like, but I find it hard to take you seriously when you say "I don't think any of the hate towards him is deserved" while simultaneously calling for him to lose his job.
He deserves the seat if the person who made the seat available is willing to give it to him.

Sometimes people forget that sport is a business and just like in any other business where people lose their jobs for underperforming, it shouldn’t be any different here. Unfortunately, money talks and that’s really the only reason why he’s still in F1. Again, that’s not hate that’s just being factual.

I guarantee that there are people out there who think that Mazepin was a good driver and was just a bit unlucky (I think they're mad, but they definitely exist). Stroll is not such an obvious case as Mazepin anyhow; he got a podium in his maiden season (in a Williams of all cars), has multiple podiums since then and has a pole to his name. Its ALWAYS subjective. The guy's been in a really shit car since Aston came in to F1.
Sure, money talks, and its the reason most of the grid is in F1. Doesn't mean its okay to spam every single video they appear in with 'you should lose your job'. Forget what you define hate as, its just a shitty thing to do, and you should probably take a long look in the mirror if you do it.

In 2020 he had a good car and even so he didn't manage to beat Perez, im surprised you don't know the difference between hate and criticism, in the last 3 seasons he hasn't shown any improvement over his teammates and in this season he's doing worse than ever, you can look up his recent performances and at most they are mediocre, you'd think that being 5 years in the sport would at least make a contender for points but nope. Lance seems unlikable in regular media interviews but watching this podcast made me change my opinion on him to be fair, he seems really chill and friendly in a 1 to 1 interview like this, I enjoyed listening to it and I hope Stroll will have a better season next year
