Hi Ashley, let Doug know, not every job has to be exciting. I have been a channel viewer for a lot of years and I watch your excellent content, for one very important reason. I like seeing a day in the life of what you and Doug do. Plain and simple, you do things in a way that is imaginative & I like watching that.
Absolutely true. What ever you want to show is great with me. I usually always learn something for sure. Thanks for all videos
@OzMurf I agree, I have watched this show for many years and I love it for the clean content, no foul (fowl) 😂language.
Yes!!! Absolutely true!!! I love this family!!! ❤❤❤❤
❤ love to see your process and ideas always. Never to judge, just to watch the nice work y’all do
I think you’ve got yourself a kitty kat!!! 🥰❤️🐈🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
We love to just spend time with your family, so you are never boring to watch ❤.
My wife and I have been watching your channel for several years. You have a great family and we enjoy being part of your journey through life. As a 72 year old man - who has spent too many of those years trying to keep our houses from falling down - I have 2 words of advice for Doug: KNEE PADS.
Keep living the dream!
One job at a time adds up!!! Doug & Ashley were proud of your accomplishments!!!
Ash & Doug it doesnt have to sound exciting. Your channel is very relaxing. I also learn a lot.
Well, I typed a long comment about adopting a beautiful stray kitty and lost all of it! I was commenting on Kala (sp). Ashley she is so precious. 😊 You are so gentle with her. ❤
Doug your videos are never boring! I love your channel!
@@willydavid sorry
Don’t concern yourself with being exciting every video ,we watch your videos for the whole package . Your creativity, the whole business of the renovations (slow repetitive jobs and all) , and just seeing you all doing your family things. Its refreshing to our spirits to see you all ,decent people engaged in fruitful lives. The misguided people unfortunately engaged in destructive lives are plentiful enough.❤
Bell sitting at her table (balancing) Ashley encouraging Doug to loosen up, Maverick being adorable as usual and GETTING IT DONE! ✅ it’s great fun watching the details fall into place. It’s all exciting to me👵🏻 WELL DONE TEAM!🎉🎉🎉
Life is like that one thing is mixed in with the next thing or 3 or 4 things. You can only do what you can, physically or financially. Remodeling is expensive. Sometimes you have to save up to cover costs. And you don't have much to work with to get "something done" in the meantime.
Its OK, one small project at a time. Then if you don't have anything a skipped video (hope not) or maybe just follow you "a day in the life" or a fun bike ride or trip to the beach. No worries! We are here for the good. Bad, and the ugly. LOL
Ya'll, it doesn't matter if your content is exciting or boring. I'm still going to watch every episode, for the simple fact, that I genuinely love and care about, you and your family. Plus, there's always something new I can learn, which helps me out a whole bunch, with the many things I don't have a clue about.
Thanks for sharing another great video with us, I truly appreciate it. Sending Lots of Love and Bunches of Hugs to you both and to your two delightful kiddos!! ❤❤❤❤
Oh Doug, it will be so very hot in about a month & you will need to be so very careful to not get too hot!! Take plenty of breaks & drink lots of water or something to keep you hydrated. It is real easy to get overheated. I worked in our intensive care unit at our hospital for over 23 years & seen so many young guys come in with heat stroke. It isn’t pretty & it isn’t easy to get well. Please be careful. You did a good job today on the wiring. It just amazes me the knowledge you have about so many things. You are quite a smart young man. Take care & see you next time.
Yall got a shout out on another channel. I was watching a cleaning channel and the guy said your channel was a great one to watch. Couldn't agree more!
I heard that, too. It was from Midwest Magic Cleaning. He said he enjoys your channel as I do, too. We used perlins when we put a new roof on our mobile home. We used Styrofoam sheets between the old metal roof and the new plywood/shingled roof. Never had any trouble with it. Good luck with yours.
I think Doug would make a great person to teach an adult education class or 2 during evenings at a vocational school. Imagine 5-10 students who need to repair or renovate their own mobile homes. Just knowing what materials are readily available, what needs to be ordered via a mobile home dealer, and most importantly of all, learning how to make it better than the new original would be so helpful. My local vocational school offers a 2 year course in residential construction. They actually build a home together to get the hands on they need.
thats cool and yes Doug has patience to teach
New subbie here! Midwest magic cleaning channel shouted you out! Im so excited to see your videos!
I frankly don’t care what you’re doing I just love watching you and Ashley. I look forward to seeing your videos. Oh by the way I am done with my sewing room remodel and I made it more functional and love being able to work in my room
I used pressure treated 2x4's for my purling's I know it's a little more expensive, but it gives you around 1 1/2-inch gap between your metal roof and the Mobil Home Roof giving it better air flow especially when it's hot. It will pull cool air upwards through the metal roof channels upwards helping to keep your roof cooler, just wanted to mention it to you. Plus, if you wanted to you can get the aluminum backed foil foam insulation around 1/2." thick to cut and put between the two roofs to help with the heat.
I agree with OzMurf. I love your videos because you're both so natural and never fake. I like seeing the progress too
Exciting ?? Doug - pulling wire just doesn’t sound like it …. But the results of all your thoughtful work is AMAZING!!! ❤❤
Are you aware Midwest Magic Cleaning gave you guys a nice shout-out on his latest video? That was nice of him, and you guys deserve it. Your channel is great. 🙂
Yeah, that was pretty cool of him. Thanks :)
'There's no way for me to make this exciting' he says pulling himself around on a wheeled trolley up and down the place 😁 Wheeee!
Both of you are so smart. I'm so excited to see it finished. I know it will be beautiful.
BTW, Mack from Midwest Magic Cleaning mentioned you on his channel. I was excited because you and he are my favorite CZcamsrs.
Coming right along. Nice to see Katie Purry came to visit again. She's becoming quite the star!
Doug, nothing is boring when watching you.
You always have us in suspense. You most always do something that gets a laugh out of Ashley and us.
Doing the wiring was no exception.
Getting all of the wiring done while the walls are open is a great idea.
I like the pop in electrical boxes.
It gives you the ability to move things around if you want to.
I've been watching several metal roof install channels and I think it would be a good idea for your project. Running the purlings the length of the mobile home would allow you to have vent openings at each end to allow airflow between the two roofs.
Wishing you the best of success.
Oh, Ashley, Kala (sp)....is so cute. We recently had a beautiful black female cat come up to our house searching for food. She was so hungry. Even though due to my very bad health, we said that we couldn't take on another furbaby, of course we did. 😊 Hubby was actually the one to take her to the vet, etc. He instantly fell for her. We named her Angel. She instantly felt at home. So, another furbaby to love.❤
Doug, you all are never boring! 👏 Always great videos!🙂
Ashley you all need a kitty 🐈⬛ ❤
@@willydavid it’s really not that expensive! You act like it’s millions of $😂
Hi Family,
It doesn’t matter if you’re wiring or filling something with dirt,
it’s interesting to watch you guys!! I’m so glad your thought
of putting in the installation on ceiling before getting to hot,
smart move!!Y’all truly are my favorite CZcamsr
family and DIY’ers and I hope you always keep bringing content
out. You’re such an inspirational figure to so many of us! Excellent
teacher!
Please stay safe, happy and God Bless! ❤
Ashley really likes that cat!🐈
You could go through the wall with your fan as well - avoid the roof/ceiling.
I’m with you on using old work boxes. I’ve always thought it made more sense to use those rather than new work. It doesn’t tie you down to locating fixtures to studs and joists.
Ashley
Looks so cute with the cat
so cute
I love the ghostly fade out where you just were there and then you
Doug it's great to watch you do the boring jobs it's a great way to learn how to do it 😊 One step closer every video ❤️🇨🇦
The wheeled platform is a wonderful thing. Stable, no moving ladders etc.
I’ve been helping my son renovate his new flat and the logistics have given me sleepless nights. Your videos have helped me a lot. 👍👍❤
Hard work is never fun but look what you have accomplished! I always enjoy your videos. thanks
Vent the bath to an outside wall. I've lived in mobile homes for the last 27 years. Holes and pipes in a metal roof are a nightmare, they always leak and you have to go up and every 3 to 5 years to recalk. Now in my 70's I can't get up there so I have to pay someone $150 to recalk and hope they do a good job.
Totally agree, vent out the side less headache. I to live in a mobile home.
Doug, you are doing a wonderful job time you work! You can be proud, I'm proud of you! Take care!
I had a metal roof installed on top of my old metal roof and that’s how it was done. Wood strips and the metal roofing attached to that. Has been great so far.
I am always so excited to see a new video. You are always coming up with ways to get things done. I love watching. Doug,Ashley, Belle and Maverick, you all are amazing. Have a nice day
Can you tell that I watch your videos two and three times. I guess I just can't get enough. Love the work you do.
Because of the excellent work you do and your explanation of why you do what your doing makes watching so enjoyable. So looking forward to how the floor plan will look.
Exciting maybe not but for someone who knows nothing about wiring it’s interesting
Smart idea to get started on the ceiling before the heat set in. Better idea to do it in small increments as not to tie yourself in for a hotter job later. You'll feel better for doing it that way.
Nothing like the tideus work! Little steps to a Big finish! Looking great Mr Doug & Ms Ashley!!
Might just be me, but I love my ceiling fans. My bedroom runs 24/7 365days.
I've never been impressed with ceiling fans. They barely blow air around and when we want blowing air, plug-in fans work so much better.
I think the ceilings are too short
We had a mobile home with those ceiling and a flush mount worked great.
Ashley like I said my opinion I prefer ceiling fans, living here in NC it can get so stuffy. I think FL would be the same. Hate box fans ☺️
@@teresae7235 We simply just enjoy talking with our viewers. :) Yea, the humidity is pretty much the same in both states. I don't like box fans either...way too big and clunky. Smaller fans that can rest on a nightstand is what we use when needed during the summer.
I watch waaaay too much stuff on utube but I want you guys to know I always am drawn to watch your stuff first▪︎
Have you considered putting styrofoam sheets between the current roof and the new roof. Noise reduction and another layer of insulation.
Even though pulling wire is not exciting, it is very interesting. I also loved seeing the calico cat who visits you.
You can put the bathroom vent through the wall.. that's an alternative to going through the roof..I understand your hesitation! Loved the wiring work, I've been wondering how that's done, even though I know you've got a lot more to do on it! Keep the wonderful videos coming, I'm learning so much and it's building my confidence as well! Thank you!😊
For somebody that knows nothing on electric, i found ghis interesting. I have wied a house with husband for alarm system though, wow what a job 😂😂
I’m a cat person so I love to see kitty’s she’s lovely and I can see you like her very much Ashley ❤
Awesome! I've been waiting for the wiring. This is such a fun project to watch come together.
OMG big fan of you! Hi there so glad to see we are both DIYfferent fans! lol
I see Belle's furniture building skills have greatly improved!😮🙂
Take care and be blessed sweet family.😊
I like the way you think and then carry plan out. Thanks.
That stapler sure beats hammering those staples in for sure. I asked someone on CZcams a long time ago how he kept his
Romex from twisting so much and he said, "editing". I never laughed so hard in my life. lol
Doug, just a suggestion. If you and ashley are going to be outting a metal roof on, you could cut the peak (only the old tin) back 20" each side and use a blow in insulation. It is what we do when we put metal roofs on the mobile homes we renovate
We have insulation boards under our metal roof we had installed over an old roof.
Using auger bits can be challenging, as they sometimes drill too aggressively through the wood and can unintentionally hit something behind the hole. To prevent that, I drill a pilot hole first, so the screw tip doesn't pull the bit through the wood. Then, I can use whatever amount of pressure is needed to get the bit through the wood.
I'd do that roof soon, Florida will be entering a very rainy season around May/June
Great progress. I was just thinking as I was watching how convenient it is that you have scaffolding on wheels to just pull yourself along the length of the mobile home. The right tools, the right materials, the right timing all make the job a little easier.
Prooooogresssss!!!! Every little thing adds up!!!! Woot, woot!! 😁
Always get excited when my phone notifies me you guys uploaded a video. Sending all my energy and thoughts from Northern California!
I always enjoy watching! Doesn't matter to me what you two are doing. Love your channel.
A little at a time is still progress! Have a great day!😊
Things are moving on and hopefully you’ll get your insulation soon. The more preparation you do hopefully will make the future job go smoother. Oh, the kitty 🥰 🐈 came back the very next day. 😂
Hey guys, love your channel for several years now! 😊
Id put a wall vent in the bathroom. Less hassle and definitely less potential for leaks.
Good progress, guys. Trying to beat the heat is going to be hard now, glad you got a bit of a head start before the inside becomes an oven.
Dearest Dough and Ashley I have Dough’s problem of enjoying my project to be as perfect as I can accomplish. It can be a cruse to not achieve my ideal finish, I get past it but I can always see the flaw. You both do great work!
Take your time you are doing a wonderful job.. I have project going right now rebuilding a wrap around porch deck about 800 sq feet and I hear you one thing holds up another and then there are all those unforeseen's. I pre-purchased what I thought I would need lumber and supplies and then during tear down found other things that needed to be done, heck I ended up purchasing supplies 3 times in one day at Lowes...
Consider putting the bathroom vent through the wall. .i have done that in the past. Works as well as through the roof.
And less opportunity for leaks in the future.
Love that plan for the roof... Everything looks so great.. TFS
Definitely ready to see walls go up! Keep it up!
Ashley looked so happy that the kitty cat came to visit 🥰🐈
You're progress is just, umm, well, it’s ‘Electrifying!’ Yeah, I said it. 😆 😂 Keep it going!
I have missed y’all!
Got COVID before Christmas and just now starting to feel back to normal.
You’re still rocking it and I can’t believe the progress!
Hope everyone’s well and yall had a great holiday.
God bless!
Everything is coming along nicely
Ashley!! Your back to bye!! ❤ Maverick should jump up and say see ya! 😅 You guys are my fav!!
Love seeing Cala!!!
Hello Family, I'm so glad to see another video. You guys are so inventive. I see Stan is still suited up. 😊 Doug, continue to stay safe. Im convinced, you will get it right. 👍 👌 Your last mobile home, you worked bottom to top with renovations. I enjoyed it.
Great job, venting out the side of the mobile home will see so much hassle in the long run. I've been living in a mobile home for over 20 years, venting out the roof is a nightmare.
God bless you guys 🦋🍓🤗
Every task seems hard until Sam the Man shows up. Thanks for sharing.
Don’t you have a tool belt, would save you all that bending?😊
“Ooohhh, it matters!” Love it!!!
I agree Ashley. It’s stressful to be perfect in an imperfect world. 😊👍🏼
Hi Doug,
The wiring is coming out so good...!, I imagine having a clean slate to start with as far as the wiring is concerned is a good thing because you can put the lights, smoke alarms, Kitchen and Bathroom fans, Electrical switches, and Electrical boxes wherever you want and need them, and can add as many electrical boxes and switches that you desire and that is cool. not to mention doing all the Insulation & the plumbing for the kitchen and the two bathrooms before the ceilings and the walls are put up. just makes it nice I think and easier of course. Can't wait til the next video this project is moving along quickly and it is getting very interesting. Carmen and I send our regards to you, Ashely, and the Kids
from your friends here in Lima Peru
George and Carmen
lol… when you explain it is always very clear! I enjoy watching this come together and the house too! You must be tired when done - then you have to upload and edit! Just know we appreciate all the hard work.
Great hair cut! Continue to love your content and your work ethic and excellence in all you do!
When you pulled out the tape I got so excited because I thought you were about to reveal your layout. Oh well, soon I hope. 😊❤
How nice to do the wiring before everything else gets in the way. Those wire protectors are cool, kind of like a modernized knob and tube. Love the kitty!
Before anything else, preparation is the key to success….. Alexander Graham Bell. Great minds plan alike
Nice that little Calla still comes to inspect the progress and get some attention as well....win-win for her and you. ❤
20:43 you guys are so awesome, that you can prevent ware.. 🤭🙃
Wire for the smoke alarm.. yes, yes, I totally knew that 😅
I can’t wait to see your next steps!!! 🥰🎶❤️🎶🏡🙏🙏🙏🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Great work. Even when you think it’s boring I am always more than happy to watch.
This wiring is gonna look a lot less messy that’s for sure. And it was a smart idea to use the flagging for a good visual. I wouldn’t have thought of that
Honestly doing the lights this way makes a lot of sense. If you need to fine tune the exact locations a little bit for whatever reason, it will be easier.
That guy puts some large staples in impressive. I don’t do much stapling but I like watching.
I did notice your new stapler! Making progress!
Nice job, makes it much easier with the right tools.
