Hi Doug and Ashley. A great T shirt for your channel would be “diy… it will make sense later! “
hahaha. this is great!!
For some reason I wasn't expecting a video today but here we are. Yay! That's a brilliant use of PVC pipe. So easy yet sensible. I appreciate the creativity. Belle is so tall! At the end Belle and Ashley were standing close to one and I had to do a double-take. Maverick is growing so fast. This is such a wonderful family. Much respect!
Wow! These couch potatoes are great at telling you how to do a better job. Why don’t they just watch and learn so they understand your thinking and planning. A legit question for learning is ok. Keep rocking it, Doug and Ashley! Your work is so carefully thought out.
Thank you!
Awwww, I am sure when you guys get there, the kitty hears you and comes running. So sweet, kind of like having grandkids, kitty comes to visit, you get to play and have fun and then kitty goes back home. LOL! Doug, you did a great job on the vent. Perfect placement and always thoroughly thought out.
While watching your video today reminded me of my Dad who found himself remodeling two ancient homes in the 60s and 70s. By then I was living in another state and missed seeing this but my mother wrote about it in her journals and after they passed I read about about it in my mother’s words. They lived in the homes at the time. Mother commented once that she was tired of living like this. My dad was still working full time. He loved working with his hands and worked hard all his life. Her journal revealed she also worked hard because she was gardening, quilting, cooking, having her hands busy!
My mother journaled her entire married life! She and Dad were married 54 years when she passed. I saw her journals once right afterwards but don't know what happened to them.
Hi Ashley and Doug, I love❤ the progress on the trailer house its looking better and better, you guy's are doing an amazing job, so much patience, every morning when I turn on my phone the first thing I do I check for y'all's video, I'm so hooked on them😅😅
Me too
Me three 😊 ❤
Me two
You can make it so you get a phone notification whenever they post a video
A favorite of mine too! Always exciting to see another video.
I love how you think everything through for support, makes it solid. Wear goggles next time, you only been given one set of eyes. I know someone who got the tiniest sliver in their eye and lost the eye. Bothered them for a few days and went away, then got infection. Long time ago. Soooo please be wise wear eye protection. Peace!
I’m really trying… I know I’m always harping on safety… you guys protect your ears, your lungs from fine particulates… but please, please consider safety glasses when cutting especially metal. So hard not to speak up when I see these things…sorry…
Wow! There is absolutely no other mobile home anywhere that is as well constructed! Good job!
You know people pick the dog but a cat picks you. I think you’ve been picked. 🐈 💗
Your renovations will be around longer than newly built homes❤
Just as Doug started sanding the paper I thought “Ashley we need music!” And Ashley came through! 😂 YOU NEVER DISAPPOINT SWEET GIRL❤ Well Done Team! 💕💕. ( talking about my girl was the song played the first time a boy asks me to dance ) sweet memories
I would have never thought that after looking at the mobile home looked when you purchased the property that even NOW!!!! It looks amazing. I love that the kiddos have a cat to play with but you don’t have to feed😂, love the snippet of you singing “ My Plan”
Doug...You always have great ideas when it comes to challenging situations.
I love you two 🤩 Doug always says something to make me smile, example "I have little pencil marks that you can't see" 😉
Wooohoooo! Another awesome video from Doug and Ashley!
I love your attention to detail, very impressive. I wish folks I hired for projects would put as much into as you do.
Doug your renovated mobile home will be better than a new one once your done. great family participation
Well they do say ‘shop your home’. Sometimes what you need, you already have. Good thinking guys. 👏👏❤
Really love how you and Ashley are so innovative, even building your own little solutions to problems... most people you would hire would not pay this much attention to details.
Kids growing so fast! Great looking family!
Doug, that sanding of the floor is definitely a job for Stan!!!
I watch a lot of videos but you guys are my favorite
It might be just an old trader, but it’s gonna be a humdinger of a one. I am enjoying this even the part you think is slow and boring. It’s not to us.
Nice job, Doug. It's always good seeing all of you guys. Kitty sure enjoys spending time with you guys.
God bless you guys.🍓🦋🤗
Instead of gluing the vent trap I'd be tempted to put a couple screws into it so you can change or clean the vent screen as it can clog with particulates over time.
I spray foam along the bottom of wall to keep bugs from crawling up from below
I think you've been adopted by the neighbors cat!!!
By Maverick and Belle 👋. I can't believe how fast the kids are growing up. I wish we had been able to put a vent ike that in our mobile home. It has one of the long skinny window up above the shower. When we replaced our windows we couldn't find one to replace it with. Love to you all!❤
Eye protection when sawing metal!
Your projects are thru the roof!😜🤪
You two are so stinking cute! Great husband and wife reno team. Love watching your videos.
Hi Ashley and Doug, I would have been so nervous drilling through the roof. You made it look easy. Glad you got more supplies. Great work both
Doug I don’t know if you will read this but you can use one of Ashley’s nylon socks as a bug/insect screen cover for the bathroom ventilation system. Tie it down with one of those straps you used to secure the insulation pipe.
We don't have any nylon socks, but we appreciate the tip. We actually found a good screen cap that should work. It should be coming soon.
Lookin good y’all! “My fan, my fan, talkin bout myy fa aa an” 😂 love it! Love y’all!
Always a joy to see Belle and Maverick in the videos!
You put so much thought into everything, making sure it’s the best possible solution. All your attention to detail will definitely pay off.
Hi Maverick 💙
As always be well, be blessed ❤
That kitty sure loves you guys. Maybe you need one of your own. You all enjoy playing with it. It’s a cute kitty 🐱.bye Maverick. 😊😊😊
You guys are so clever and I love those kiddos."think outside the box" love it.
Comment #2. Doug if I remember even a quarter of what I have learned watching you I will be one smart 70 year old woman! Keep. Doing. You. 🌵🌻🎶
The cat is back! I’m just waiting to see what happens! You are making great progress with the mobile home.
Extra time doing "the little things" makes the bigger jobs go easier! You can see at least the bathroom taking shape! Great job Mr Doug
I can’t wait to see the lay out! Great job! Thank you!
I think you do great work Doug , you are a nice family and we just don’t see that these days unfortunately. I look forward to your videos, I’m originally from Florida and I miss it . Can’t wait to see the mobile home when it’s complete . ❤❤❤❤😊
I admire your commitment to quality work. When it's your own home, it's fairly common. When it's not going to be your own home, it's not always the rule.
Maverick is so cute! ❤
Doug, use black pipe as your roof trap or paint the white one so that it won't become brittle in the sun.
I think flexibility and adaptability are the keys to your success in whatever you do.
I really enjoy the daily videos. Thanks for the entertainment and educational experience.
The price of wire is crazy. I am enjoying the process. It is going to be beautiful.
I've got sunshine on a cloudy day ... absolutley wonderful! Thanks for the fun videos. ❤
Should use metal duct for exhaust fan and add that insulation over it.
Ahh, my favorite two pieces of DIYdiffernt music 🎶
Hi Doug, Ashley, Belle and Maverick! Another great job done. Can't wait to see what you have coming up next. I always look forward to the Bye Maverick! Have a blessed day!! 🙏♥️🌴
Love your channel. ❤😊
Your ahead of the game plan. In construction you have too. Sure makes it easier when you have things tore out and cleaned up. Lol macaroni, macaroni….your doing a great job on this trailer.!!!
Thanks!
Good morning!🥰🥰🥰🥰 Doug, you always make things look so easy! The mobile home is coming along. 😊
Thank you for explaining why you aren’t going through the wall for the vent…. I never even knew that could be a problem….we live and learn!
I've loved watching your family working on your projects. Bella is almost as tall as Ashley, you all have grown up before our eyes. Keep up the good work.
Insulated flex duct for the discharge of an 80 cfm exhaust fan is definitely overkill. Since it was leftover from another project it makes sense to use what you have on hand.
Once again, you have shown your innovative talent. You know how to get around problems or do things in way that suits your needs/wants a little better. I know there are plenty of people who will find fault, thinking they know better, but I believe you have proven yourself capable enough that I would trust your innovations. Thanks for being so careful to share your reasons for your choices. 😊
Great job, as usual. The attention to detail is what sets you apart.
🐈👋😊
21:27 He’s so cute! 😊
You started spraying foam where the siding overlapped, then changed to spray along the horizontal boards, leaving the gap between the sheets of siding open. I suggest you pour borax or diatomaceous earth between the studs at floor level to stop insects from entering the home. Then install the insulation.
It's deceiving because what looks like the laps between the siding was actually just some flashing tape that I didn't adhere very well on the back of the upper siding panel. The siding lap was below the wooden strip so I was doing my best to seal those gaps. I installed my new siding a little taller than the original siding. It's confusing, haha, but we're sealing it up pretty well.
Hi guys. I have rehabbed several old trailers. I have some advice. Don’t glue the exterior parts of the roof vent. Use self tapping stainless screws instead. That way if bugs get in or you have to replace the roof flange because they do wear out after 10 years or so. You can just take out a couple screws and replace it.
I was going to suggest using screws, too.
Yeah, that's probably a very wise idea. I'll do that just to be safe. Thanks.
Hey Doug I can't help but notice that your hair cut looks really nice. Now what does that have to do will a hill of beans you might ask because it has absolutely nothing to do with either the Mobil home or beans! Now that we've answered any questions that may come up regarding my comments I just thought that I'd clear anyone of them up right away. I am mesmerized by the work that you guys share with us. I have learned quite abit from watching you guys working, thank you once again.
A job well done. love the Vids keep it up
That's great you have a cat to pet and play with, but don't have to feed it or take care of it.
I'm so glad you're going to screen that pipe!
I already found the prefect screen cap on Amazon, so I have that ordered. I'll have to show it when it comes.
@@diyfferent great! My big fear is snakes. I had one go in my dryer vent..took 45 minutes and the dryer on high til it came out.
@@peggynorton5145😮
Smart idea on the vent!
Great Job! Thanks for the Video! Looking forward to finding out the roof color.
Love the progress on the trailer. Thank you for thinking outside the box. That what makes it interesting for me. The inexpensive keep coming back. Ashley you are definitely Doug's right hand.❤
I really wish my single wide has that tall roof with lots of space so it looks like I'm gonna have to get creative on that part! It's looking so great! You guys inspired me so much! Thank you!
You got all your ducks in a roll. Lol
Really smart move with that mounting.
It’s coming together, progress is starting to show. Great work as always.
Keep the videos coming! I really enjoy you all!
There is a CZcamsr who does rubber roof overs on mobile homes. He puts 2 x 4 strapping on the existing metal roof, then sheaths with OSB then glues down EPDM rubber sheeting to the OSB for a seamless new roof. If you search mobile home roof replacement on YT search, I'm sure you would find several of his videos. It could give you some ideas for your roof.
Awesome job! It is looking good!
Thanks!
Good work as always! 😊 enjoy your weekend! ❤❤❤❤
Excellent to do roof asap (before building interior). Thanks. I do look forward to your doings :) happy trails
Good job again! I was waiting for this update🛠
So glad to have found this channel!
It's so sweet to see the kids enjoy Cala. And Cala loves her new friends 💛😻🌴
If all pans out, and the children are up for it, You and the Mrs. Can build a real estate/house flipping business in a few years. That way you could stay together and visit the world, whilst becoming even more self dependant. Thank you for sharing your unique craftsmanship skills.
I love how y’all innovate to handle situations! Thought & knowledge then application! The mobile home is coming along, but I’m more interested in your home! I hope you get what’s needed to finish projects there, too! TYTY for sharing! ❤️❤️🙏❤️❤️
More kitty!!
:-)
Nice haircut Doug 👍🏽
I see a kitty in your future. One nice thing about cats, if you keep their litter scooped, they take care of thenselves. Indoor cats stay much healthier than ones allowed outside. I worked at a vet school in a Small animal clinic. All our instructors agreed there is no biological reason cats need to go outside. People only allow it because of their own feelings. But indoor cats live many more years and get plenty of exercise indoors or in a catio. Cats can stay home alone for a few days without having them need a walker or boarding. I did bathe mine about 3 times a year. They put up with it. My indoor cats lived to 16, and 19.
Hello my favorite family!! I'm still trying my best not to skip through any of the ads. But having to watch a 18 minute long fashion show ad, was ridiculous. So it was the only ad that I hit the skip button on and I hope it didn't mess up y'alls algorithm.
Thank you for sharing yet another great informative video with us. I hope ya'll continue to be blessed with your endeavors and living ya'lls dream!! Much Love and Hugs to you both and to your two delightful kiddos!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Whoa,18 minutes is way too long!! Feel free to skip any ads at any time. Thanks!
Oops! I skip ALL the ads. I didn't know it messed up the algorithm. That's messed up!
@@carlapierle8623 I'm not exactly sure how algorithms work. But someone mentioned something about it a while back, that we could help their channel a lot more, just by watching the ads all the way through, so that's what I try to do
@@diyfferent I would've watched it, but I had to hurry up and get ready to head to my doctor appointment.
There is such an app called Ad Block that does away with ad showings.
Doug great Idea to reuse the venting for the bathroom and ur one step closer 😊 excited to see what's next ❤️🇨🇦
I'm sick and can't sleep so I'm up late nights watching your videos. They're very relaxing. 😊
Love the musical scores you've been using!
How cute--did Maverick just take a little bow!? 😸
Thanks for sharing all your hard work! You guys are so humble and amazing!
Love this series! Really excited for insulation! 😊
Awesome job! Thanks for the update. I’m loving these videos.
Maverick has such a sweet voice! He and Belle are so cute!
Sorry I’ve been so busy, I’m down in Florida visiting my sister and tomorrow I will be going up to Clermont Fl to stay at my daughter’s house for 3 weeks. Everything looks like it’s going a long just fine, keep up the good work. Give the kids a hug. Stay safe and God bless
Thanks! We hope you enjoy your stay. Take care :)
From wondering how I going to do this to actually coming up with something that is going to work.
Doug you pulled it off again.
This is one of the types of suspense I've mentioned before.
Ok, he's not sure how he's going to do this.
So we're in suspense on how you're going to make it work.
One more thing behind you.
Anxious to see what happens in the next video.
So good to see you all. Loved the update🌻🌴
I love seeing your progress make sure you look into mini splits for your heating and air
Install a light above the shower tied into the fan so you have more light when showering.
i agree the roof should be the next thing you do before you put any more money into the inside of the house... will give you time to get the outside walls done too...
Calla is comfortable with her CZcams fame - she's a natural 😂
I love learning from y'all so my husband and I have some idea how to build our home together ❤️
