I have a fourth method: it involves a "helpful" toddler and having your back turned for a second 😭. I just need to get an adhesive remover to make it see like it was on purpose lol
The chemicals used in adhesive remover can cause discoloration and dulling of the paint surface and can also damage the protective clear coat on the car. Also, If you ran the eraser wheel on anything other than low speed and/or stayed in one spot too long you probably burned some of your clear coat.
Just wanted to say thank you. I used you fishing line method and everything went as good as it did in your video. This was so easy and my WRX rear end looks so much better. (A++++)
Really great video with simple and quick instructions! However I do have one question, I was able to see some residue just on the edges, would that come off with more glue remover or a normal wash or a power wash or just time?
You might want to polish the surface after, you can still see the outlines on the back when you're finished @ 3:04 . The longer those badges have been on the car, the more obvious it will be without a polish.
@@ericmarciniak3541 my guy im finna do that next week now 😂 tint both front windows plasti dip chrome trim and lights 🔥🤘 your comment just reassured me why i SHOULD 😂🔥
First method seems the simplest and quickest. The third method appears to be additional effort for no reason as you end up having to use the adhesive remover….so it’s one extra step ie eraser attachment for the sake of using one… Cause realistically after removing you’re going to end up buffing the area to blend everything in.
If you don't have (or don't want to buy) Goo Gone, I've had good luck using WD40 to remove the left over adhesive. Then clean it with some Mequiar's cleaner wax (or whatever you prefer).

I own a 2023 Nissan Ariya. I want to black out my Ariya emblem. Should I spray primer on it first before I spray paint it black? Once done, how will I reapply the emblem? Use cement glue over the existing double sided tape?

Hello. Nice video. I however did use the Rapid Remover and attempted to remove the last of the adhesive. There is still a very very fine layer of the adhesive that I am unable to get off. Basically you can just see the faint outline of the original emblems. How do I get rid of that please? This is on my 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Thanks for the assist.
Would the eraser tool remove the black marks that have sat around the badging and lettering? I have a white vehicle and dirt around the lettering. Would you guys also know if there's any methods to remove those black outlined around the lettering without using any tools? I removed some sticky residue from badging with goo gone and worked great, and figured maybe the more I keep wiping the outline off with goo gone every once in a while it'll eventually come off.. any other helpful methods? I don't have an outlet or any tools currently at my apt complex..thank you guys and great video, I'll be using these techniques too for any other badging I have.
The longer the vehicle has had the emblems on the harsher the "outline" will be visible as the paint underneath will still be pretty much untouched. I use a touch of meguiars ultimate compound and buff it and it removes like 99.9% of it but on a funny angle in a funny light you can still catch a glimpse of it. You might get some luck using a cheap car polish and working it for a while.
wait, so if you just want to replace a chrome badge with a black badge, just fish line and glue the new emblem over the old glue (without removing the residual glue?)
4th method... Floss, razor blades and WD40 🤣 works amazing. I debadged my Audi last weekend. I still have some cuts on my fingers but totally worth it if you're too lazy to go to the store 🙃 😅

It looks amazing and he makes it seems super easy but I know i would go wrong somewhere 😂 And when I compounded and polish the entire car I did clay bar it all first and the colour has held up really well tbh. I try to not do it much as it does eat away at the clear coat if you over do it but maybe a full go over every year or 2 with regular washing and waxing keeps it looking good. When I took the badges off the back I didn't clay bar it because it was such a small area in comparison to my bonet/hood for example which is like speedboat long lol!
