I've been trying to upload this video for TWO DAYS! I checked other reactions and they uploaded just fine without having to edit out the song
Maybe it's because of my location? 🤷

yeah, Sony can be a pain about copyright. When the band themselves first released a snippet of their own song Valentine, Sony had the sound removed due to copyright, that's how bad Sony is about that stuff. It does seem to be a location based issue though

Some people upload reactions for weeks or months with no problem, and then suddenly they start getting blocked. It seems very random as far as I can tell. I wish their record label would stop the blocking! It's been proven that video reactions help to sell records. Anyway, there are some high quality videos of live performances on CZcams, that tend *not* to get blocked. Most recently, I think, there are several songs from the Tokyo, Japan concert.

"they're pop rock", yeah, I think it's accurate. Generally people try to classify them as one particular genre and then get mad when they don't stick to it. But they've been changing styles since the beginning. They always had that very distinctive sound that was easy to recognize, but initially they had a lot of funk or even raegge influences. The next album had a lot of typically italian sounds, the other one (with the song they won eurovision with) was more on the harder, pure rock side, and this one is more of an ear friendly pop rock. They have very different songs: concert/party bangers, seductive tracks like this one, super poetic and deep stuff or cheeky, ironic songs where they just talk shit and make fun of the haters. And the funny thing is that whatever type of song people hear first, they assume that's all they do, because it all suits them so well.
No wonder you noticed this guy's voice and attitude. He's generally considered to be a phenomenon of a frontman, often compared with the icons like Jagger, Freddie, Elvis etc. I think it's pretty valid. Apart from being a great singer, he's a total cameleon, with multiple different personas.
I think it's a band really worthy of the attention they're getting, they have tons of potential and are absolutely fantastic live. Maybe try some of the live performances if you're wirried about the copyright?

Thanks for that input! I love to hear artists change up to see how they can develop as musicians, both music and lyrics.
I hope the hate base is minimal, it's rather silly to dislike a band just because they don't stick to a certain genre or theme. It's fun to see them develop, plus musicians are creative by nature! Of course they'll tend to switch up and try new things.
He is DEFINITELY a front man, you can tell he loves the camera and it loves him in spades. Victoria seems ferocious too in the video, such a great group of individuals!
I'm going to check out their live shows for sure, I truly don't mind the copyrights since almost every video I do is copyrighted (I'm not getting paid yet so it's okie dokie with me) but for some reason their videos were getting blocked worldwide alongside the copyright.
      Thanks again! Cheers! 🍻🇮🇹❤️🇺🇸

@@Clouded_Reactions oh, they do get hate, like every popular act. It's this classic case that as long as you're an upcoming artist, everyone recognizes your talent, potential, and strengths. But once you become mainstream popular, everyone starts shittalking you on every aspect. It reminds me a lot of the reaction that, for example, Elvis or The Beatles received. It's the same kind of arguments.
Funnily enough though, 90% of this hate comes from Italy itself. It seems like it has become a trend for disappointed by life critics and musicians in Italy to jump onto the hate train to get some publicity. I wasn't aware of it at all, but then I stumbled upon an Italian comment section, and, heh, it's pretty funny indeed. The hate is in such a style that they quote each other, haters have multiple accounts and write 50 or more comments, all dripping with venom. It looks like a sociological phenomenon, which makes it even funnier because it's such a closed bubble. Not that such hate campaigns have ever harmed anyone. It only fuels the bands' popularity.
In general, Maneskin also has this shock factor that makes people go crazy, either positively or negatively. They have been very provocative at some point, they have done and worn the weirdest shit, for real. They have this vibe of being transgressive and not conforming to rules, norms, stereotypes, prejudices, etc., and they seem to live to annoy the authorities and traditionalists (I notice it even at the time when they were kids). They are very supportive of LGBT and gender equality, especially being from a conservative country like Italy. The guys kissed on stage multiple times, notably as a statement on live TV in Poland (which, at the time, was struggling with a homophobic government). Then they made a very political song supporting Ukraine, and the singer openly said "f*ck Putin" from a big stage (Italy at the time was playing it safe and had plenty of Russia's supporters). So there is a lot of reasons to hate them just on an ideological, aesthetic level. But they seem to enjoy balancing between the love and hate of the people. As long as they talk about you, you know? And beyond the crazy provocative layer, there's a much deeper and wholesome side that those who choose to look a bit deeper know. And those who don't, and only focus on the shock factor? Well, they kinda prove the band's point that people are so preoccupied with external images and labels that they don't notice anything else.

@@Clouded_Reactions I think in this case it's between her and the singer, though they mostly are just a bunch of friends with no particular roles. Those two have the "fiercest" personalities, are the most outspoken and articulate and speak great English. Damiano is often the one who deals with people, staff etc., he's very intelligent and mature and seems like people always respect him. But he's actually an introvert and sometimes prefers to stay quiet and stick to the side. Victoria on the other hand is this wild bundle of energy that is ready to take the spotlight whenever needed and is not shy of anything. She's also the main founder of the band and they call her "momma Maneskin" XD

Maybe I was around 10 years old, early 80s, and my cousin played me her Dire Straits record. It was love at first listen for Mark Knopfler's guitar: Tunnel of Love was my first 45 rpm single of "adult" music 😊 Now I follow the guitar of Thomas Raggi, the guitarist of Måneskin 😁

Damiano, the band's vocalist referred to their genre as 'horny rock', they have different styles. From punk rock, glam rock, pop rock and so on. They started out as teens (like 2016 is when Ethan joined the band, but Vic, Thomas and Damiano were already playing together before that when Damiano was 14, and Vic and Thomas were about 12 a 13) , but they didn't go international until they won Eurovision in 2021, and even now the oldest member of the band (aka Damiano) is only 25. the other band members are Victoria (24, bass), Ethan (23, drums) and Thomas (23, guitar)
If you got the chance, you should really try their Italian songs as well, they're pretty awesome.
A good start might be Zitti e Buoni, the song they won Eurovision with.
Their biggest songs are Beggin (which is a cover they did as teens, and that went viral a few years ago), and I Wanna Be Your Slave (Iggy Pop liked that one so much, that he did a remaster of it with them)
The first band I personally fell into, was Bon Jovi, though the first artist I liked was Elvis Presley. My all time fave band is Queen, but Måneskin is getting close as far as I'm concerned.

Buon ascolto .
