Way To Go Conner! I live in NJ and am a long time KIA Owner. I have a 2008 Sedona & a new 2018 Sedona. Even though I did not buy my car here Conner took my call and tried to help me with my Remote Start for my New 2018 Sedona when my local dealership was having some issue programming my remote start to my FOB. I was told that it didn't have a car starter, but just found out that besides all the cool options that my Kia already has that it does have one and realized by pressing buttons by mistake.
This car is sooo Amazing. Thanks to this video I was able to figure how I did this in the first place.

I have a 2016 sore to ex with a smart key and I was wondering if the little trick would work. I tried it and it didn’t do anything.
If the vehicle is not equipped with factory remote start it will not work
So I have a kia optima 2018 and I start the car using the remote starter but cannot open the car with the keyfob unlock button. It stays lock until I turn off the remote start. Anyway to open it while it's in remote start mode?
How do I know if the vehicle has the auto start option. We have the key that look like the white vehicle you demo. We do the same thing and it shows the lights on the vehicle but it doesn’t start. Should we assume it doesn’t have the auto start ?

I can remote start my 2020 EX Premium with my UVO. the lock, trunk feature dose not work for me. Am i missing something or what can i do.
We recommend setting up an appointment with your nearest Kia dealership and show the key to the Kia Service Advisor.
Dang bought my 2017 Sportage used and was hoping it had this feature just tried it no luck....Do y'all know how much a dealership charges for the remote start feature?
They can't add it to you current key fob, they'd give you the small black one. I got a quote today for $450 for the remote and ch charge $120 for a total of $570 @.@

most salesmen, don't know much about cars. They know how to wear you out to get the sale. My salesmen for my ram didn't know the mirrors tilted on reverse. Also didn't know about the mirror dimmer.

Hello, I have a 2020 Kia Sorento. How do I disable the horn honking when I want to remote start the vehicle?
I have a 2018 and that lock and trunk button don't work like that with mine and I have the same type of key fob! Am I doing something wrong or does it work with certain fogs?
I recently leased a 2020 Kia Forte GT that comes with the remote start capabilities. Everything works the way you said it would, but as soon as I open the door to get in the car the engine shuts off??
I've been looking for an answer to this as well. The manual says you unlock the door by pressing the button twice and get in the car, but for me it always shuts the engine off as soon as I open the door.
Ok, the car started, I get in press the brake and it turns off. Try it another time, press the start button and it turns off.
How do you start it and then drive away?
Push your start button when you get in before doing anything else. That takes it from idle to engine start. See if that works and let us know!
@@McGrathAutoFamily so I'm wondering the same thing. I just bought a used kia sorento. I took it into the dealership and they said it's suppose to do that. That aftermarket remote starts always turn off with kia. I feel like that's not true.

I have 2019 kia stinger. it has the smart key option. My issue isn't how to remote start . My issue is i start my car. when i approach it, i unlock the car. The moment i open the door, the Car turns off. I then have to enter the vehicle . and turn it back on regular. How do i keep the car on so it knows i have arrived with the key and it lets me just start driving. Yes i have the key on me when the car shuts off

Hi I have a Toyota Prius that does the same thing. It’s a safety issue my dealer said that’s why it turns off when you get into the car. The vehicle needs to send the key with you so it knows that no one is stealing the car. That’s what my dealership told me. I hope this helps you.

My daughter has a 2015 KIA Cadenza with a push button start. Can a "remote" start system be installed? I hear if we get a remote start it could potentially effect the electric push button "start." Is this true? Please advise. Thanks.
Angie, it certainly is possible that you could find someone to install an aftermarket, 3rd Party Remote Start system to the Cadenza but there is not a Kia Genuine system that can be added. Installing an aftermarket remote start could impact the push button start, it could void any remaining warranty if applicable and it could create various issues not mentioned already. With that being said it could also be installed and not cause any issues but it does come with some risks. Let us know if you have any other questions! Thanks for watching!
Hyundai /Kia optional remote start are competitively priced in my opinion and gives a peace of mind that system was built to work with that vehicle plus they have very decent range.. they sell two way remote package which comfirms if the vehicle starts if it's out of sight..

So Conner I bought a 2021 Kia Seltos and I have that small remote starter after 10 minutes of running the car shuts off and the horn goes off for about 4 seconds. Not a good thing in a neighborhood at 6:20 in the morning. Anyway to bypass the horn???

Just got a 2017 Sportage that based on the VIN was factory installed remote start. Key we were given doesn't have a sep. fob and the main remote key won't start the car? What can we do?

Difficult to understand why the 2 fobs but obviously the small fob is for vehicles WITH remote start that DON'T have the smart key option. They just include the small fob in addition to the smart key because it comes with the remote start option whether you have the smart key option or not.

That should be all you need to do, there is no type of activation process needed.

I've been wondering the same thing. My last Kia came with a factory car starter that ran 15 mins. My new Kia also came with a factory installed car started, but it only runs 10 mins. I have been trying to find a way to lengthen the time to 15 mins like my old Kia.

Generally it requires factory remote start with the proper second remote etc. We are not familiar with the ProCeed here in the states but imagine it is the same technology and may be difficult to add to a vehicle that does not have it from the factory. Thank you for checking out our video!

I have 2014 Kia Optima Hybrid EX with smart key. What system (maybe you can give me OEM PART NUMBER of parts) should i add to make it start remotely?
Our parts department said this was a "split year" so some Optimas were remote start capable and some were not. We recommend you get in touch with your local Kia Dealership, provide them with your vehicle's VIN and they can let you know if your Optima is capable with remote start.

Congrats! If your Sorento has Remote Start you may have an extra FOB, if you do not have remote start none of this will work of course. We cannot tell how your vehicle is equipped based on what we know at this time

The dealer said that it does not have remote start, but he was in error... you CAN start the car remotely if you use the absurdly expensive UVO app.. UVO is VERY expensive, especially on a retiree's fixed budget, thus, I will not have access to UVO after the one year freebie is done. So I am surmising that if the car can be started remotely via an app, it should be able to be started using some key fob combination.

You never mentioned anything that the dealer was not correct and that you do have remote start with UVO system. So instead of coming at me like I'm the idiot, why don't you explain yourself correctly and then maybe people will understand what you are trying to say??
@@akronhockey also just because you can remote start your car with the UVO app doesn't mean it should be able to start with the remote as well. Systems are set up differently all the time and it could be that you can only remote start with the app. You can however find deals after your year is up on your UVO subscription and also talk with the company and they will work deals with you. They really are a good company and don't like to lose their customers. It's just like SiriusXM, they work with you as well.

No Toyota did it for the 2014 Camry i know that for a fact. You needed a separate fob to remote start the vehicle.

Haha so weird how they’re all different, I have a smart key on my 2017 Forte S and the remote start has a small fob which you press twice to either start or stop, no matter what I cannot have my car locked while started, but my hidden feature is a triple click to the lock button and that will start it up, but will not lock, actually unlocks itself on the 3rd click prior to start up

If your vehicle has push button start you can use the key fob. If it is a key start you will have to have the second fob. Thanks for watching!

@@MNM2884nick what settings? How do you change the settings? I even took it to the dealer to have the sales guy show me and he did the same thing I did and it turned off. He said you should be able to start it with both my remotes the engine start/stop remote by pressing it 3 times fast then you should be able to start it by the regular key fob by pressing the lock and trunk button at the same time or something like that and then you get in the car and depress the brake and press the start button and it should stay started, but it turns off.
@@erincockerham4796 is there an anti theif setting in your car? Turn that off, because what is happening is the anti theift feature is working to prevent your car from being stolen.

@@MNM2884nick I have a 2015 Kia Optima EX GDI and yes I have a security system in the car. I don't know how to turn that off and why would I have to turn that off in order to use my remote start? The dealer showed me how to do it, but when he did it out turned off as well and he said he'd never seen any of the other kias do that.
