**Up until recently, I've been downloading my personal VHS collection. However, the collection is obviously limited. I started a Patreon page to better find and purchase old VHS videos on EBAY and other websites, as well as at garage sales and other locations that might have VHS available, so I can upload them for all to see and share for free. Bonds had 39 at the start of the all-star break. He was on pace to hit 80 and would have if he didn't get walked so much.
Incredible time to watch baseball.
Steroid baseball was amazing. Miss it everyday
I wish I could laugh react this.
Cheating has never been more exciting than steroids
Totally agree haha
Agreed 100% and you know what's funny I guarantee you the people that cry and complain about cheaters and steroids were enjoying it just as much as we were only we admit it. Everyone who whines and complains about steroids was having a blast and knows God damn well that it was never As Good As the steroid era ever again. It pales in comparison now and you know what if they cheat I don't give a flying fuck as long as it's entertaining. They are grown-ass adults so you know what give them sticky tack and give them steroids and let's have some fun and enjoy baseball again
If You miss fake athletes, watch pro wrestling instead.
1:07:52 “oh shit I suck!” 😂
1:38:50 "Ohhhh fuck." (Giambi)
Back when baseball was great...i miss those days. The players from the early 2000s are way better than the ones nowadays
People had to whine and cry and complain about steroids so how about all the people that bitch about steroids being cheating just shut up and let them have them again and maybe we can have good baseball again
Because they injected their veins with steroids?
@@thickerconstrictor9037we don’t need cheaters but thanks for your shit opinion
"Up next we have Barry Bonds, and pitching to him is Victor Conti".............
Chris burmans comb over is the deepest home run I've seen
It's back ,back ,and GONE!!!!!
I got the chills of this A LOT.
Larry Walker in reference to Barry Bonds, "Shoe in hall of famer." If only he knew the HOF would devolve into a joke 😢
Awesome! I was there in center field trying to catch a ball. Lol. Thanks for uploading.
I was there in left bleachers that day! What a show those boys put on.
I dont even like baseball but I remember I watched this when I was a kid, all I remember is that dude Giambi goin ham.
Gonzo baby! My favorite player as a kid growing up
56:24 bonds
Ahh, my dad went with a neighbor. I was SOOOOO jealous! Haha :)
Gonzo! Not the only highlight for him that season. ;)
#DBacks
ahhh… the glory years of baseball…bring back the juiceeeeeeee
So many interesting things in this video
28:56 goosebumps has entered the chat
Gonzo Year!!!
2000 - 2003 all about Sosa and Giambi in the HR Derby. I mean they each won it once, but had some of the most exciting rounds ever during those years.
Abreu 05, the best
Only bc griffey could not stay healthy.
Just more and more and more proof that steroids made baseball better
@@tylerpitman2339 yeah steroids break down your body pretty bad and even though people like to think that he didn't take them he was a walking steroid billboard.
Going, Going, Gonzo!
Please post the 1993 derby from Baltimore....been looking for years
barry actually doesn’t look as big here as i thought. by like 04, he was just huge. i mean he was bigger than a few years before but nothing unreasonable
Thats what it looks like when you weight train, you gradually gain size🤷
If he was roided hed be all yoked right away
He's wearing a loose-fitting baseball jersey. From what I read he was about 230 lbs in 2001 and maxed out around 240 lbs by the end of his career. That's NFL linebacker size FFS. He was a big man.
@@deepbluereason he's noticeably smaller in '01 than in the later years of his career. he was also 6 foot 3. he was on roids for sure i'm just saying he was actually smaller this year. when he was super huge, it was the years after
Poor a-rod, getting booed while talking on the mike.
I got to say the home run Derby now is a lot better. Instead of hitting five or six home runs and around the guys are hitting eighteen to twenty or even thirty. Some of the battles that we've gotten have been amazing. The only thing that I don't like about the new home run derby is we don't get a chance to see how far the ball is going. By the time the ball is landing the next one is getting flown out so we aren't seeing the distances and that sucks. Baseball was way better back then because of steroids but the home run Derby now is a lot more fast-paced and fun. But there were a couple of years where there was one round amazing. 1999 it was Maguire 2000 and 2002 it was Sosa.
Berman delivered in this event
The house that Griffey built
The house that never seen a world series
@@erichvonmanstein6876 Ouch.
@@brandonmorris92 yeah after i said it it kinda hurt me too lol.
@@brandonmorris92 i like Griff
@@erichvonmanstein6876 Hey, at least Seattle is hosting the ASG! 🙂
More home run derbys please.........
56:39 Bonds “shoe in HOF”
Yikes
can you try and get the 02,03, and 04 derby I want to see the 04 with bonds
Chris Berman had a way with nicknames.
...brought to you by BALCO
And? Bring Balco back plz. This era of baseball was amazing
Quit crying
Why Harold Reynolds do Helton like that!🤣😅🙅🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️⚾️
3:14 almost everyone there was on roids god damn
2001 was a interesting year for baseball...
That was Bonds only mistake.....coming back to spring training with an additional 30+ pounds of lean muscle...in less than 1 calendar year...even Ronnie Coleman wanted his secret.
Man they always butchered the camera angle for these. Just stick to the outfield perspective so we can see the launch off the bat
16th annual
MIke Piazza stole the show.
0:30
Joe Morgan the perfect voice
Lol! Far from it. Plus he was a racist POS. DON’T miss him! :)
And BTW… regardless of that turd Morgan’s anti white opinion… Ted Williams IS the best hitter who ever lived.
Home run derby use to be so much better
The only thing that was better about the home run Derby bag then is we got to actually watch to see how far they go. Back then they were hitting five and six home runs in a round and getting to the next round. like what? Now you got guys battling out 20 to 30 home runs around and it has been exciting as fuck. The battle between Vlad and someone else I can't remember was amazing and there's been a bunch of them lately. The home run Derby has a much faster Pace now the only negative part about it is that you can't actually see how far the balls are going because by the time the ball is landing the next one is heading out. Everything was better back then because of steroids but people wanted to cry and whine about cheating and now we have what we have
Bonds, Sosa and Luis Gonzalez in 2001, ridiculous........ Sosa's THIRD 60+ Homer season and never lead the league with any of them! Too bad no one hit the Million $$$ Hit it Here signs, 2006 is a different story, but it was changed to 500 Flights (booooooo).
Boomer should call every derby
Also you guys realize that pretty much every single person in this contest was one of the steroid positive names on the Mitchell report test results that leaked. Thank you steroids for making baseball the best its ever been and ignore the whiners about cheating and let them take them so we can enjoy
Ironically, Gonzalez wasn't named in the report. However, I don't think that its a coincidence that his HR total jumped from 31 to 57 between 2000 and 2001 lol.
