To me, one of the most amazing things about Bonds' insane home run total is how many of them he hit off lefties. People can say whatever they want about Bonds, but he belongs in the Hall of Fame every bit as much as any other player who's already there. I said what I said.

Yeah, greatest hitter to ever live. No doubt about that. But he cheated for years and lied about it, and continues to lie about it. For that reason, I don't think he belongs in the Hall. If one day he'll publicly admit and apologize for what he did, then maybe he'd have a shot. Some say what Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, etc. did was the best thing that ever happened to the game, but many players who played the game the honestly and with integrity would disagree.

The craziest thing about Barry’s career and stats is that out of anyone who’s ever played major league ball, by far, not even in the same galaxy, has anyone seen fewer hittable pitches than Bonds did. NO ONE would pitch to him. He managed to hit 73 dingers in one season, while being intentionally walked like 118 times. Thats not counting the other like 200 walks that were basically intentional just by not throwing to him. It’s an insurmountable feet. No one will EVER do what he did with so few pitches to do it with.

The D-Backs, up by 2 in the ninth intentionally walked him with the bases loaded. They gave a run out of fear of him hitting a grand slam. It worked, next guy up flied out, ball game over.

Funny story, speaking of how rarely Barry got to see hittable pitches. One time I saw a game between the Giants and the Padres where Jeff Kent was batting in front of Bonds in the lineup. The Giants got a couple of runners on with Kent coming up. You knew the Padres didn't want to walk Kent and load up the bases for Bonds, so Jeff got 3 straight fat fastballs right down the middle and he finally crushed the third one for a homer! The Padres announcers were laughing as Kent rounded the bases, and they were saying that Barry should actually get credit for the homer as the only reason Kent got such fat pitches was that Barry was on deck. They said that Bonds didn't see 3 pitches that fat in a whole week's worth of games and Kent got them all in one at bat!

People can say how much of a bad guy Barry is, yet seem to go blank when you bring up what Ty Cobb did yet hes in the Hall but Barry isn't.......but when you keep it on purely baseball, He is easily one of the best to ever do it. Legit 5 tool guy with the sweet swing

Bonds clearly belongs in the Hall of Fame. His amazing play, including 3 MVPS before the steroids scandal, made him a Hall of Famer. While Bonds is the greatest home run hitter, he is not baseball's best player. That title belongs to Willie Mays, whose hitting and play in center field made him the best. A dozen gold gloves as well as 660 homeruns and a raft of other amazing feats make Mays the greatest-ever.

Best hitter period. He's been WALKED MORE THAN ANY1 in ⚾️ history. They don't tell you that. Most homeruns plus most walks equals THE BEST HITTER.

@1who4me NO 1 stood up to intentionally walk Ted Williams. Yes, he's the last 1 to hit .400 but he wasn't feared.
