New to the channel? I do Let's Play videos -- these are like walkthrough guides of gameplay with continuous English commentary trying to explain my decisions and what strategy I use. If you're looking for hacks or cheats, you're in the wrong place! - Hry
"Maybe we will start some crap with greece,it will be fairly easy." 10/10 historically accurate campaign.
Quill: If we just attack Romania, and let's say they join... I mean, they could join the Axis.
Romania: **Is currently at war with Germany**
The best part is that they are in a never-ending war with Germany.
They took Hungary, that's why they're in there to begin with. But since Quill cut them off for good, they have no chance of reaching each other. Sucks to be you, Kingdom of Romania.
Quill: "Phew, finally finished all that hard work."
Harddrive: Nomnomnom
Romania is a good target, since they are already at war with the axis so they cannot join them. I would do it quickly before germany eyes poland, cos than they would get a land connection with romania, and possibly surround you and cut you off from the soviets......plus if you take romania you can wave the oil problem goodbye.
Quill Germany can still demand Sudatenland.... from you. If you’re gonna give it up you could dismantle the forts first
This series literally gets me out of bed in the morning, I watch it to wake up
You should look into pinning attacks, you'd have broken them way earlier if they hadn't been able to cycle in fresh divisions into the forrest tiles across the river.
The planning bonus after you execute a battle plan gives pretty substantial attack bonuses. You can also spend command points for more attack power on your generals temporarily
Romania is at war with the Axis, so they might be a good target? They may join the Commonwealth though.
To form the Roman Empire you do actually need a part of Hungary and the Transilvania provinces in Romania
I'm having a great time with this, and how you're explaining it as you means even if I have no grasp of HOI's mechanics, I can somewhat understand what's going on?
Hi quill18, keep up the good content! Loving this series!!!!!
Just recently watch your Hearts of Iron 4 tutorial series aswell loved it, the explaining was clear and I'm thinking about trying the game because of that.
Would you consider doing the "same" tutorial videos for Imperator of Rome?
Cheers keep it up :D!
Hi, I have seen already a lot of your gaming video's and I am at the moment also playing for Italy in HoI4, it is my favorite nation to play in the game. I have played already all versions of HoI and the first computer game I have purchased now almost 30 years ago was Civilization 1. One question, why don't you use also the Army Group frontline to place all your selected army divisions belonging to the same army group on the Amry Group frontline too? This for creating an offensive army group arrow on the map too with smaller attack arrows for the remaining divisions operating under the army commanders ? I don't see on CZcams almost no one doing this, but it creates more realism regarding frontlines and offensive battleplans. You can use the "create frontline feature" also for Army Group commanders as you do that for army commanders. This works simultaneously having more realistic looking frontlines in where the army frontlines are not not placed behind each other but beside each other. This is automatic done by the game mechanism for all the army's that are selected with the army group (marshall) command if you use the army commander instead of each seperate army commander when creating frontlines. With the fully function Army Group frontline all the to that group belonging army's will always stay beside each other, also when somewhere the frontline is moving. I use this technick by creating one single attack arrow on the strategic level for the whole Army Group, then I deselect in the Army Group individual divisions to create with them the on operational level coordinating army attacks in the battleplan under command of their own army commander. I also use generals to act as lieutenant generals to create an army corps having about 3-5 divisions in it for specific small (support) tasks in the frontline.
Yessss. I love your vids. Please continue uploading
If you're worried about Germany, maybe create a path either of conquered territory or friendly countries between you and the USSR so they could do something to help if war breaks out? Then you wouldn't have to worry as much about starting a war v the Axis, especially since you're already weakened Germany quite a bit by stealing its expansion opportunities.
He didn't steal Belgium. To be honest, Belgium is a smart move as Germany. The Maginot Line is hard to cross, but easy to bypass.
Send volunteers=yes, declare on France=wait until you've rebuilt
You should go for greece, thay are allied with romania. and that way you can take both of them. and i think because they are already in war greece wont be garanteed
hello i am new in the channel loving it so far
Hello I am new to commenting loving it so far
I waited up all night for this.
AlphaCentauri and u was first for this
Since you've taken Austria and Czechoslovakia, it should be easy to identify when Shmitler begins his Demand Sudetenland focus, as it will be directly after he Reasserts Eastern Claims and demands Memel from Lithuania
You probably won’t read this but if you do the reason you had so much trouble is you had not much CAS and you didn’t do your land doctrine I recommend doing those
@Quill; If you don't pick a research, it saves up to 30 days of points. So if a tech finishes in December, you could just pick a research in January and avoid a month of ahead of time penalty.
No significant movement on the line until 19:00 if anyone was curious
Quill, if you are in December, save the research until January. It cam save you A LOT of research time (no or lessened ahead of time penalty plus the saved 30 days of research). And PLEASE put a radar on Rhodes as you said (earlier episode) that you would.
It's funny you were worried about completing the intervention in Spain focus in episode 1 🤣
Great video
You sould use maintinence companies so you can capture enemy equipment. That is esential in legendary or in countries with low production. When ı played a (semi) historical Turkey most of my tanks (ones that are not captured were sent by america), infantry equipment and artilery were captured
I was going to get some sleep after just one more ep of the Canada kaiserreich, buuuuuuuuuut
Keep up the good work, you’re one of the reasons I started my CZcams channel!
If you have a bunch of forts in the middle of your territory and need to build a wall somewhere else, then it is worth it to dismantle the useless forts to speed up the new ones. I did it once when playing Romania and was preparing my Soviet front in Moldova. The forts in Czhekoslovakia were useless to me and King Carol spends most of my factories on his mistress anyways.
Please stop letting them reinforce from that fort is all i kept saying in my head over and over through this episode
Quill don't forget that you have to also take everyone's territory in Africa(i.e. take all of Africa) for the roman ambition
You should do Siam, that might be a challenge.
More Civ please!
started video... instantly checked if it's in 2x speed xD
dude these Czechoslovaks are fierce af
I would've went from Yugoslavia to Romania, romania will solve your oil problems, and then u can attack Czech from the eastern borders from romania divisions. The eastern side is very easy to breakthrough. Keep the other divisions on the southern Czech side in defence make the eastern front close on the southern defence so u can surround them, then u attack with the southern front and u encircle and slaughter their divisions. That way you will save time while also getting romania
It's an interesting phenomenon in this game that an expansionist fascist state doesn't at least partly collapse back into it's constituent states after a major ideological, government and social change into communism.
But Quill18 isn't playing historically accurate. It's a game - an abstraction from reality - after all.
The Kaiserreich mod in this sense feels more realistic, in a weird way.
Great playthrough so far, @Quill18, looking forward to watching more :)
Started up a game as Italy, at 5% world tension Great Britain suddenly garanteed Yugoslavia... wtf.
Anders Nilsson lol
Late but no radar on island by Crete Rhodes?
None Historical HOI4 is some of the best enjoyment i get out of the game
Loopyguy7 same
Greece will be easy target... thats what Mussolini said....
Epameinondas Kaparos after losing horrifically
I dont even play this game lol, im an EU4 nerd, i legit cant figure how this game works, but i can watch it
is eu4 easier than this?
Silly question: If quill isn’t playing on Iron Man then why does he keep talking about the achievement?
I think he has said before that getting the achievement "officially" doesn't matter too much for him, doing the same thing non-ironman is as valuable. And TBH achievements like this are mostly to set up fun ways to play the game anyway, rather then bragging rights...
It's not just an achievement, it's a formable nation.
No achievement -- just an in-game decision that I've set as a soft goal, just so I have something to work towards.
quill18 Damn why is it my stupid questions are the only ones that get answered by quilll! ;)
Radar in Northern Africa?
Im sad this plan is already obsolete, France now Guarentees Ygoslavia right from the start, so Italy is kinda railroaded
Animal if u play vanilla yes, but if u dont, no. There is mods which make so no guarantee
Unfortunately, the one I use makes no factions.
And for some reason after 1936 France hates Yugoslavia and stops guaranteeing
Roman Empire, but as communists? Well that would be odd xD
Guys he’s playing on Itaelite difficulty
Romania wont join the Axis since they're at war with them after eating Hungary. not sure how the peace treaty would work though as Hungary might come back.
This episode should have been named "How many times can Quill say, 'and actually.'" haha
Emphasis on the wa~~~~~~s lol
might be late but why the no retreat order on the airwings? i think you lose manpower and planes
Shhh, but i think 'we' are not WW2 'Germany' :P
You need Jesus
you don't know how to use force attack do you?
you spent a year when it could have been finished much quicker with force attack....
force attack is the button above your battleplans...
